D Alan Johnson has first hand experience and knowledge in this area. Spending many years in the contract world. Article is an accurate and quick look into this arena while his book puts you in the front line with a few surprises. I have flown in this contract world and crossed his path a few times.

I have worked with and flown with the author for many years. D. Alan Johnson writes a good book, tells it like it is and-----he has been there and done that. He writes from expeirence. I have spent several relaxing hours reading his books and look forward to many more.

Believe me, SF can train anyone...even prior military without training and education in the field of quiet professions. Good article thanks for the info. Another nugget.

Simon.
Great article.
No nonsense and very recognizable.

LJ
What we see around the Western World is that military SF is used to raise the quality of security operations, but sadly sometimes any sort of military is hired in to do a job they were not trained or educated for.

There is a misconception in cooperate America that former/retired military provide “security” in a private setting. The Military are trained to engage in war. Much different. The three buckets of Security functionality are typically 1. Information Security 2. Fraud management/Insider Threat and 3. Physical Security…None of which is a Primary discipline of a military background… Of the three Physical Security is the best fit (facilities)…but not necessarily Executive Protection …
