To Mr. Kent,
I stumbled on your blog by doing a Google search of Blessed is the Match. I found your thoughts interesting. I then jumped to your May 3 comment about your wife and thought I would add you to my blog list. Then I read this pile of crap and like Ronald Williams said-
"I suppose it’s understandable why you would be a little bitter in your old age, as a “professional philosopher” can’t have much pride in their accomplishments in life. It is an occupation which spends it’s life talking about accomplishing things instead of accomplishing them."
I would rather read what he has to say than what you do. Perhaps when your pension runs out, you will see that the change you hoped for in Obama, was just loose change.

To back up what markscease stated. Estimated to be 1,379,551 active US military, of which 1,303,798 (94.5%) are in one of six countries (US, Iraq, Afghanistan, Japan, Korea, Germany)

the remaining 144+ countries that Mr. Kent speaks of contain a whopping 75,753 (5.5%)

Geez, one third of our military serving in 150 countries. Try subtracting the forces in Japan, Korea, Germany, Iraq, and Afghanistan and see how many military personnel are in the other 145 locals. The US military performs many more roles in these days, than dominating the local government.
As far as the global economy is concered. Forget about that. The global economy is a total farce, nice idea, but one whose day has not come.

How can you be "correcting the smears and lies" about anything military related?? Are you in Afghanistan or Iraq, Mr. Kent. Of course you are not...you have not the intestinal fortitude to ever present yourself in the open, spewing forth the Anti-American Anti-Military hate that you attempt to spread daily under the guise that it is "truth".

If you did have a single ounce of manhood in you I would challenge you to tell one of our fighting men that they are "Killing innocent people" and see where that gets you. I would like to say that you'd be picking your progressive, globalist keester up out of the dirt, but the truth is that our military men and women are too professional to do such a thing. I must admit that they are more likely to tell you that they are proud to continue fighting in order to protect your freedom to express yourself in such an ill-informed manner.

Ultimately, that is why I must retire from the Marine Corps in a few more years, as I am about at my boiling point with all the cowards like you, who like to spout off about a lot of issues you know nothing about.

Oh, I know, Mr. Kent...you are a retired "professional philosopher" and college professor...you make sure you advertise that with every uneducated post you make. To some naive folks, that may pass as making you an expert in all of the areas you pontificate on daily, without any proof or evidence ever being displayed. To those of us who actually have knowledge in the areas you feel it so necessary to post every day about, you are a joke.

Please, please come out from under that barack. Jobs are being handed over seas by the corrupt unions and the equally corrupt and treasonous democratic gov't. I too see bad times ahead until the Republicans take back control and stop the hemorrhaging of borrowed money.
