sorry this reply might be a little bit late !

the working foreigners before coming to saudi they sign up papers with conditions and one of them is to respect the religion and rules of the hosting country, the "filipino drivers" are there to drive the family their job is to drive not going around turing the country also they are allowed a day off which is friday where all the family members are off work and school. about churches, if christian workers wont to praise the lord they can go to their embassy i heard that there is some place for the workers to do so.

i agree with you that saudi has some issues with human rights but i dont see its necessary for the west to agree or disagree with that because the workers nowadays in saudi they come in and run out the next day with no reason, this is a personal experience, and go out and start prostitution and what not...

sorry but the sources of this article is misleading and it one of those articles that only wants to start propaganda and exploit saudi arabia.

Excellent article Nancy. The Human Rights abuses in the Kingdom are a scandal and the West's tacit acceptance of them worse.

I stand corrected about Lebanon being poor.

Ironically, my family is not poor either, but the pay for nurses here is so low that they can't make a living.

"..They come from Indonesia, Egypt, Palestine, Lebanon, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, the Philippines, and many other poor countries.."

Lebanon is NOT a poor country and all Lebanese in Saudi Arabia have better paying jobs than the Saudis themselves.
