it's typical. there is no liberty in Neo-Amerika, other than those liberties which are still permitted (or tolerated). tyrants rule this nation and in general, people desire tyranny over liberty (less personal responsibility).

our own Christian culture is partly to blame. the misinterpretation of Romans 13 has been deceptively preached from pulpits for a very long time.

the great deceiver knows that liberty can only be preserved in a nation IF people with morals hold political offices. so he cunningly decided to deceive many religious leaders into thinking it's some kind of sin for Christians to self-govern their country.

and of course, the government run public school system we've created doesn't teach people about the fundamental philosophy of liberty. but we can help teach others — even those who do not yet believe in our Creator & Messiah.

And very very possible, as read from another post, most are brethren in Christ Jesus. Our war is not against flesh and blood, against people, but against spiritual darkness and wickedness in heavenly places, who by deception take captive the unguarded mind/heart to do their will. Our command though speaks of better things, "By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another" (Jn 13:35).
Peace and grace! May the living God revealed in Christ bring quickly a resolution. And may the feared traffic woes be a non-issue altogether. :)

Local govs becoming fearful, retreating into a false sense that to suppress all is a preservative action, an insulator against a possible burn over 'religious matters'. Doing so automatically violates the protected rights of the public "to peacebly assemble". Was this town purposely doing it under guise? Maybe. Maybe not. I don't know. I'm not there and the Spirit of Jesus has not revealed it to me. Even if He did, it would not be for purposes condemnatory to the leaders of that community, of name-calling and insults. Nothing productive exists there. But Truth is not weak; Freedom comes from knowing it, and He who is Truth. As citizens of this "one nation, under God", enjoying the blessings and freedoms we've been given, we should strive against wrong and injustice, but not according to the pattern the world knows. (Rom 12:1,2). It is from our transformation by the renewing of our minds that we understand "You shall not speak evil of a ruler (leader) of your people" (Ex 22:28; Acts23:5) and that they are 'men' as we are (Titus 3:1-7).

LOL, well, upon further investigation, it seems that the city of Gilbert has recieved e-mails and phone calls from all over the world complaining about this and are currently seriously considering recinding the ordinance. Praise be to God, see? There is strength in numbers. This would have been lost for the city had it gone to court but We the People have made a stand and must continue to do so. Next, we get Obama and his cronies out of office.

Well, the ignorance of people, esp. the city, comes as no surprise. People seem to have forgotten that we fought G. Britain and won over reddress like this. It will be corrected but as another person commenting said, I would not stop having the home meetings because someone else does not know the law. We have not been given a spirit of timidity but of strength. Does anyone know a specific number that can be called to complain? Gilbert has got to know from the voice of the people they are not going to get away with this regardless of who passed this ordinance.

Why would anybody even pay attention to this "law". It's the most laughable thing I've ever heard. The city "officials" are cowards, they hold no force, they're law is null & void. The First Amendment clearly protects the right to worship freely, and to assemble whenever, especially on ones own property. Therefore, the pastor should simply continue doing exactly what he's been doing, and if the fools come knocking, slam the door in their face. If they fine/arrest him, then he needs to call his lawyer and press charges on them for violating rights under color of law; U.S.C. 18,242 Link--> http://www.justice.gov/crt/crim/242fin.php. But I would never, Never stop worshiping God because some "official" said I couldn't. Never concede ground to these people, fight them... it's your Right.

This is no surprise to those of us who study the bible, and prophecy in particular. In the last days apostasy will be rampant. This country is failing quickly. I was hoping I'd be alive to see all of this happen, knowing it was coming. After 30 million+ abortions, homosexuality being accepted by almost every denomination..what can anyone expect? Jesus himself said, "in the last days, the love of most will grow cold". Just make sure you are on the "right side", when the Lord comes for his own.

...The stodgy town leaders in Gilbert Arizona will be mighty surprised to learn that they qualify as "left and progressives." People in minor positions of power acting like overbearing jerks is a phenomenon that exists across the political spectrum.

Hello? Gilbert is a conservative haven, voted over 70% for McCain, strongly religious and dominated by the Republican Party. Every single member of the town council as well as every other elected official in or representing the town is a Republican. Conservative Republicans enacted this ban.

But, sure, "the left is taking over".

About time!!!!!!!!!!?????????????It is truly a sad day in America when someone posts a comment on the Internet like that. One can only deduce that the writer has a grudge and bitterness towards faith or God due to some unfortunate situation they experienced in life. We are praying for you. Like Michael said, this goes much deeper than religion. This is about the left and progressives treading on the American people's constitution. If we let them walk all over one of our rights, its only a matter of time before the entire constitution is stomped on and disrespected. People died for that constitution. Its what defines America. So SAD!

Its what defines America. So SAD!

This is about the left and progressives treading on the American people’s constitution. If we let them walk all over one of our rights, its only a matter of time before the entire constitution is stomped on and disrespected. People died for that constitution. Its what defines America. So SAD!

About time!????? This is not just another expression of what we are facing in Washington but a complete invasion of our rights. Especially, if these so called Elders of the Town do not hold true across the board. If they let the scouts, football parties and even small businesses work out of their homes then there seems to be a discrimination situation happening here against religion. Hope this town has funds in its legal department ready to be spent. This is an attack on more than just Bible Studies but what about Book of the month clubs etc....Gilbert i am sure there are lawyers out there that will gladly take your money in this Lawsuit.....Just another stupendous way to spend your tax dollars!!! I can only Pray that the People of Gilbert come out in droves to protest this....it's their Money right?

It's about time. I wonder if this applies to Mormons? They dominate the Mesa/Gilbert region and the governments there. I wonder why they just don't all meet in the large buildings we all exempt from property taxes... I sincerely doubt it's a backlash against Christians. They all love to whine about how they are persecuted. Amazing, considering they dominate every debate in this nation for the last 300 years. Alas. So much for home teaching. The end times are truly here. Finally.

I can't believe this! Talk about losing our rights! May God be in control of this situation and may the good Lord have mercy on the people who oppose the Bible studies.

I pray that God prevails in this injustice, and these individuals are allowed to worship him freely.
