Obviously there is no questioning the motives behind how the Polly Klaas Foundation started. It sounds like a very special group of volunteers worked very hard on that case. What a shame they weren’t involved in Haleigh’s case.

And hasn’t Mark Klaas gone on to do wonderful things…and accomplished so much. Sorry, but sadly Caylee and Haleigh’s families aren’t running the same sort of operations as these foundations. Kind of the opposite, at best.

Yes, I know how it was started. Also Polly’s mother Eve Nichol is on the board of the foundation. While I know it’s not the same, it’s just an example on how/why these organizations get started. Nothing more, nothing less!!

You probably already know this, but in case you don’t, Mark Klaas did not start the Polly Klaas Foundation, nor does he hold a position within it. It was started by the volunteers. The Polly Klaas search, and how that organization came to be is a wonderful and inspiring story. If you go to their website you can read about the massive search (the first of it’s kind), and what inspired the volunteers to start the organization.

The organization that Mark Klaas runs is called the “Klaas Kids Foundation”. It was not established until 2004, long after Polly was laid to rest. It has been instrumental in bringing about legislative changes, and again, you can read about it and all they have accomplished on their website.

Haleighbug on the other hand, was started by Crystal & Marie, with Marie as President, and Crystal as vice president, and they made it clear on their website that the monies raised by it were to go directly to the Sheffield/Griffis family. Very big differences!

I agree re the phone lines. What I’d really like to see is the Griffis/Sheffield’s sides phone records from the time Crystal was served with the warrant, up until a few days after she went missing.

I’m hopeful that all this quiet means they are working on something and things are about to break WIDE open. No tapes on ANYONE for some time now….SOMETHING has got to be going on! But it sure is frustrating not knowing what is going on….maybe I should pass out rawhide bones for all of us to chew on! Might calm our nerves and take the “bite” out of our comments to one another! LOL

I hope you are right about the quiet before the storm…unless you are talking about it being the quiet before the storm here in the blog room…If THAT is the case….I may be UNDER the doghouse! LOL

I have said it before, and say it again, I do hope LE have checked that side of the family’s computer searches in the months leading up to Haleigh disappearing. I wouldn’t be surprised if they had researched this foundation stuff before Haleigh went missing. I just don’t get how making money off this became their priority in those weeks immediately following her disappearance.

I am praying this is the quiet before the storm. I just have that feeling, and I hope I’m right this time!

Actually, I see more similarities between the As & the Sheffield/Griffis. Both wanted to make a living out of a missing child. At least the As waited a number of months before setting up their foundation. Marie was a president and Crystal a vice-president within about 4 weeks of Haleigh going missing. I wasn’t at all surprised to hear that Marie & Cindy have become friendly.

Re the life insurance policy….Crystal came out and said it to the media right after Haleigh went missing. I remember it well! Links don’t show up here, but if you check wftv.com, you’ll find reference to it in a story on February 13, 2009.

“Haleigh’s mother claimed to have purchased a whole-life insurance policy for her and the children. However, investigators said they have no information about the policy.”

I really am not trying to stir up trouble. I have been making a very conscious effort to watch what I say and do and to try to KEEP the blogger battles from even getting started and when they’ve already started I try hard to defuse them with humor when possible. But I think we ALL need to be a little more tolerant of one another and realize that whether we agree or not, everyone is entitled to question anything AND can pick on Ron, Misty, Crystal or the Easter Bunny if they like without recourse from anyone other than Jan or Simon.

I respect both of you immensely (Treece and m2c) but I DO see both of you picking at Tobias when all she is doing is voicing her opinion which she is entitled to….even if it does sound like Ron bashing.

So let’s just be nice to one another…please! Hugs to all! Now, with that said….I’ll be hiding under the couch if anyone needs me!

I have taken to scrolling past certain bloggers’ posts without reading them, and I am sure there are some here who scroll right past mine.

Re JVM, she gets under my skin sometimes but not as much as NG. JVM gave too much coverage to the Tiger Woods issue, imo. When there are missing and abused kids out there, Tiger should not matter at all.

But to help satisfy your “need to know” every G-d thing about R (so you can trash him some more) maybe taxes were due on it - three years worth. Maybe he had to pay his lawyer. I never heard that his lawyer was free like C’s was.
Maybe he used it for food and normal living expenses since by then he’d quit his job. You can pick it up from here with all the terrible things you think he did with it.

I dug out some old photos and have looked at a few. Looking for ones with me and my father together. I’ve only found one so far. We’re sitting on the hood of his little sports car. he has on short shorts and no shirt. I’m wearing a little summer dress and sandals. I guess I might be smiling. I might just be squinting into the sun. Our arms are touching, but he’s looking off into the distance. Not at me, nor at the camera. He was a ladies’ man, so maybe there was a pretty lady walking by.

Anyway, there are no signs of abuse, but neither does it appear the man and child in the picture have a very close relationship.

The fact of the matter is that my father began physically abusing me when I was six months old.

I didn’t start hating him for it until I was about ten years old.

Suffice to say I doubt those photos can tell us much. I think Haleigh and Ron look very engaged with each other, though. And I believe a father can love his daughter but be abusive now and then. In fact, I would go out on a limb and say it’s obvious they adore each other. I just don’t think that rules out abuse.

Hey Nancy Grace watchers — has NG covered the Aja Johnson story at all? If so, how much?

All photos of both Caylee and Haleigh only prove to me that those little girls loved and trusted, the way kids will do…nothing in any of the photos proves they were loved back.

It is sounding like this chick that claims an affair with Georgie is legit from what I’ve read thus far. Even LE didn’t deny it….just said they weren’t discussing the evidence. Georgie is BUSTED! And Conway is going to have egg on his face (again) from denying this affair. First he was denying it and now he is saying “No Comment”. Cindy already had Georgies “jewels”….now she’s going to pull a “bobbit” on him and take what was left of his manhood! LMAO

If there are any Ron tapes they would be subject to Sunshine Laws, so they can’t keep them under wraps, imo. I think if anyone asks, they have to release them; maybe no one has asked.

I would love to see Mistys expressions when she watches NG tonight and finds out Tommy is gonna take a poly.
