It has been another busy week in the search for Haleigh Cummings. We will be running our regular program on Sunday Feb 7 at 3pm central. The panel will be Simon and Jan Barrett, WSKY 93.3’s TJ Hart, the ‘Crime Doctor’ Denny Griifin, and investigative journalist Levi Page.
There is plenty to talk about this week. The jail house tapes of Misty Croslin, Tommy Croslin and Rinald Cummings were released to the public. They were revealing to say the least, not so much because of what they talked about, rather what they did not talk about, and that was Haleigh Cummings.
All three seemed much more concerned about their personal creature comforts than anything else. Ronald seemed hung up on the laundry arrangements, while Misty complained about the food.
One item that most of the press has failed to grasp is that the tapes have been redacted. One has to wonder what was said that the authorities saw the need to edit them? There are two cases going on in tandem, the drug bust to which the Florida Sunshine Laws apply, and the search for Haleigh Cummings which is at this stage exempt. One could speculate that the redactions could concern the search for Haleigh. However, Law Enforcement did say that more arrests were expected in the drug trafficking case so the redactions could involve that aspect.
Earlier in the week the PCSO made a surprise release of some photos of the ‘Haleigh room’. The item of greatest interest was a picture of the suspected ‘timeline’. The PCSO made a point of ensuring that the resolution was so low that even with sophisticated software tools it was not possible to make the entries legible.
On Friday TJ Hart and myself decided to do a special radio broadcast about the released tapes, if you missed it, the program can be listened to here.
Yesterday a prayer vigil for Haleigh Cummings was held. Hopefully TJ will be able to bring us an update on it. I have heard that the grandmothers had put their differences aside and both were in attendance.
Also breaking this week was the news that Crystal Shefield, who recently obtained custody of Junior had failed one, and possibly two drug tests.

It is all starting to make sense now. I think LP is onto something. Ron owed a debt. Haleigh was taken because of this. That is why he can’t put all the blame on Misty for Haleigh’s disappearance.
IMO LP needs to leave Misty in jail for HER safety. And Misty just cant see that.

Yes. Padilla needs to stay out of this. SURE he will bail Misty out ONLY if she gives up information. He will bail her out anyway, put his face on as many shows as he can, get as much publicity as possible, watch as Misty is rearrested for drug use, get NO information on Haligh, and slink away…..for a while.
What if she has no information to give. The only difference here and every other case that has been solved where a child was taken from a home is that the child was found. In each of those cases the last one there “sleeping” would also be guilty if the child had not been found. With that said would it not be best to first find Haleigh and then let facts speak. I am annoyed that with all the press conferences between Police, Ronald, and his mother not once was it mentioned that Misty not once but twice requested that day not to babysit, she was to exhausted. Of them she was the only to make a good choice and was pressured into babysitting Who was present when Misty asked not to babysit, who did those people tell it to, mention it in front, of or who may of over heard it? Of that group of people who had access to Ronald’s home, knew his home, the area, who knew Haleigh, and recent in her memory as not a threat, or what she would perceive as not bad? Of that group who best who knew Misty and knows how to maneuver around her when she sleeps? My significant other does it quite often. He gets out of bed, makes coffee, reads the paper, walks around the house, gets his lunch, lets the dog out, and in, fills her water dish, starts his truck, and drives out of the drive. I often don’t wake up for this because he knows how not to wake me up a stranger would not able to do this I would wake up. This person is not a stranger to Misty or Haleigh and knew Misty was exhausted “predator of opportunity” in other cases that proves to be the one that is last to be suspected.

I would like to know why they insisted Misty babysit. GGM Sykes states that she was very angry with Misty for leaving that weekend, is that why she REALLY went to the MH?
It is my firm belief that Misty has NO information to give on Haliegh. I dont pull that believe out of my a**, with nothing to back it up. I say that because it is a fact that she was on memory altering drugs for 3 days prior, totally exhausted to the point that she was concerned about babysitting the kids, and more than likely slept though a SO visit, or if she saw anyone, she may not remember. The fact that both Ron and Misty surrounded themselves with unsavory characters made Haleigh a target of a SO. That does NOT mean that either Ron or Misty know anything about who has haleigh or what happened to her.
I hope that we will not be reading about this unsolved case 10, 20 years from now, but I think if the investigation continues on this “Misty holds the key”, we will NEVER know what happened to Haliegh.
bJb, the only thing is Misty recalls the whole evening and then some so she was not out of it.
If she was so exhasted why did she wakeup after only 5 hrs. of sleep? Why would she clean and do laundry instead of hitting the sack at 8 when the kids did? Experts have said she has a high tolerence because she has been doing the drugs for some time, and they do not affect her like a person who has never done the drug. All I am saying is that I dont buy her story. jmo

Has anyone ever heard of the term functioning alcholic? Same thing here high functioning drug users act normal function enough to drive cars and go to work. Look at Rush L. no one knew about him until he got busted. jmo
Tobias, “having no information about Haleigh to give” and “remembering the entire night correctly” can be two different things. Passing a lie detector adds third and still different element.
Among the possibilities: 1) she does know something about Haleigh’s disappearance and is lying (2) she knows nothing about it but is hiding something else (3) she’s confused about exactly what happened when she “woke up.”
That would be an inconclussive rating not a failed misserably.imo

When Misty told events of the day, and who all had been at the trailer that day, she never mentioned Sykes.
Now, how could Misty ‘forget’ that Sykes was there to drop off clothes, and that Haleigh and Butterbean were eating dinner on the front porch?
Misty said she made dinner, but she left out the part where Haleigh and Butterbean are eating on the porch and Sykes comes by with clean clothes.
Now Sykes reveals she was angry that Ron let Misty back in the home.
Everyone in prison is at risk of being harmed by other inmates, so why just throw a pity party for Misty Croslin?

I guess you also believe Jessica Lunsford’s grandfather had something to do with her disappearance, despite the fact a predator was convicted of it. After all, he failed a LDT and was LE’s prime suspect. In the meantime, poor Jessica was killed.
LDTs are junk science and you are putting far too much weight on them.
Cent and Jason: Don’t worry too much about what Annette Sykes said about being at the MH that night around 7pm. LE isn’t. Le is going on the last time a NON-relative witness saw Haleigh although I don’t recall LE saying what time that was or who the witness is.
According to Lindsy, Hank Sr. haa several medical problems, one of the reasons sees different doctors, and not because he was intentionally “doctor shopping” as was alleged by officers when he was arrested in November.
m2c, No one knows for certain what LE is ‘going on’.
Actually, I believe LE said that at some point - about a non-relative witness. Otherwise I would not have mentioned it.
It is the beginning of LE’s timeline of the last time someone saw Haleigh and when M supposedly woke up at 3 am (and/or called 911 @ 3:30am)
In the beginning LE said a neighbor and the a/c guy both saw Haleigh after Ron was at work.

NOTHING misty said about that night has been corroborated. Whatever she says is suspect. Nothing she says makes any sense–i.e. doing laundry, searching UNDER the beds for Haliegh. She was also more calm than when she got her purse stolen–which indicates the effects of the drugs. NO one, however, can argue that she was NOT on drugs for 3 days prior. Nobody can argue that these drugs do effect memory, and makes one exhausted. She was HEAVILY doing drugs—-and would be under the effects of the drugs, no matter what “tolerance” she built up—that is WHY she takes as many as she does—so the drugs WILL effect her. Does that mean she is simply making things up like doing laundry because she blacked out and does not remember anything? Does it mean she was in fact not home that night? I think both are plausible, and either way, it does not bode well for solving this case, if the premise for solving this case rests with Mistys account of that night. My point is, Misty, I believe, is useless.
I firmly believe Misty does not know anything more than what she has given. Very sad story of choices and some sicko who seized the moment of opportunity. I’m not sure what the Grandma is talking about To figure out who knew Misty was exhausted would take great effort and access to things non Le does not have. Every person around or near would have to be checked out and then anyone they were around if they discussed it. It would literally take asking where were you sitting, standing, who was in ears range who did you tell and then to them and so on. The answer is in that group though I firmly believe that. I was speaking with my dad about this and he thinks it was a user who sold her and arranged it a head of time and he thinks the most likely way to find the person/persons is in who was around whom or in contact with whom before she went missing not after. I guess anything is possible.

Jason, first of all I think you have missed out on information, Hank sr. suffered a broken leg that required surgery last February.. this was one of the elements in his using prescription meds.. what you are missing is the reality, there were drug issues with both Hank and Lisa for years prior to this injury. So, Hank knew the ropes prior to is broken leg, how to obtain meds.
Every parent involved in this situation, needs to stand and accept the responsibility, of their own life style that set the path that lead to a child gone missing. The only primary difference between misty and crystal.. crystal has given birth to three children, whereas misty has not yet become pregnant. Both girls are emotional immature, both are uneducated, both suffer an inability to show emotional concern, and both love to party, and both use precription drugs. Both raised in a highly disfunction home..
Could any of these young people in jail be harmed by other prisoner, of course they could, thats why they are protected and stay in cells by themselves. I also believe Misty is far safer in jail, than she woulld be if she were free and on the streets again.. What does she know.. good question, I think she only knows the reason she was encouraged to go back to ron’s house to babysit.. who encouraged it, and why might well be a foggy issue with her.. But I am also very sure that Tommy knows the answers to those questions.. Who will talk first, Tommy will.. Why, he has a wife and three children struggling on the outside, and I do believe, getting past his drug ussage, his family is very important to him. And then there is the possibility.. He has already told everything he knows, and he’s not going to be let out.. He will stay safe, and its good that Lindzy took the little ones and moved, it protects them from the crazy’s out there also..

No, the conversation that Hank Sr had with Misty in the jail was that Lindsey was moving in with grandparents last week and the Croslins had two weeks to find another place to live, hence LP’s comment to Cobra requesting he find out how much they owed to stay in the house

Funny thing is you conveniently left our Ron and his pile of problems stemming way back from when his mom abandoned him for a man, maybe you should go ask HMH how she feels about her choice and how it affected her thug, dreal dealing pedophile son. Both TN and Ron need to accept responsibility. I just pray JR is never near that wicked family alone after the chit they have filled his head with.
I disagree in regards to Lindsy. Having children grown up with a using addict and domestic violence leaves life time scars. The domino effect of growing up in those dysfunctions later in the children’s adult lives are profound, not in a good way. Hopefully each generation recognizes it corrects and becomes healthier. Pot meet Kettle; It’s so ironic what the grandma is saying in regards to Misty and her spiral considering her grandson is presently in jail for selling drugs with the same group. lol Incredibly ironic. It’s not as though he is out studying to become a missionary or started a foundation or something, or just not doing the exact same thing. With that said back to the main issue what are LE doing to find Haleigh? They have wasted a year and how much more before they wake up and see that? I am waiting ever so patiently for this case to leave their hands!!!

Misty was expecting “company” on the evening if the 9th, after Ron went to work. The back door was intentionally left open in an effort for her visitor to enter unseen. The visitor parked within walking distance abd returned to his car the same way he came, after being “entertained” by Misty. Shortly thereafter, (Misty’s visitor left her something to perk her up) Misty leaves the house via the front door to go have some additional “fun”…feeling confident that the sleeping children would be ok. Misty returns home after 2:00 am only to discover that Haleigh is not there. When Misti left (after indulging in/on the gift left by her earlier visitor) she DID NOT lock the back door that she had originally left unlocked for her initial visitor. While she was gone and the kids were asleep, the perp, actually coming over to “see” Misty, found the back door unlocked. The “perp” actually entered the home (after realizing Misty wasn’t there) to steal property, but spotted the children and then propped open the back door, grabbed Haleigh and made his escape. Just a possibility.
