Additional charges and raised bail amounts to two of the 5 arrested in Putnam County in January in a drug trafficking sting.
On February 3, 2010, arrest warrants were issued for the arrest of Ronald Lemyles Cummings and Misty Janette Croslin, according to the Putnam County Sheriff’s office. These warrants were issued because of drug charges stemming from the purchase of prescription medication from undercover investigators at the time of their arrest on January 20, 2010.
Officials with the Putnam County Sheriff’s office state these charges were not previously filed as the arrests on that date were made on warrants that were based upon prior undercover purchases. They added that the issuance of the warrants today and the filing of the additional charges are a follow-up to the operation which led to the original arrests.
Cummings was served this afternoon (2-3-2010) at the Putnam County Jail. Croslin is currently being housed at the St Johns County Jail, her warrant will be held until such time as she is next returned to Putnam County.
The following list details the additional charges and bonds for the subjects involved in this case:
Misty Janette Croslin, DOB: 12/09/1991 –
Two (2) Counts of trafficking in Prescription Medications (Additional Bond – $400,000.00) (Total Bond – $1,350,000)
Ronald Lemyles Cummings, DOB: 10/29/1983 –
Two (2) Counts of Trafficking in Prescription Medications (Additional Bond – $400,000.00) (Total Bond – $900,000)

And NO….I dont believe LE is adding more charges to “get them to talk about Haliegh”. Drug traffiking this type of drug is SERIOUS, and needs to be dealt with severely. It destroys more lives then just Haliegh’s. I would like to see them all serve the MAX on these charges. After sitting in jail for a few years, all sobered up, perhaps someone will remember something relevent to Haliegh.
I think and I stress this soundly, L.E. knows that Misty and Ron wont. talk, there is only those two and Joe and Tommy. Stick to your story girl (bs).

I dont see ANY overcharging. Drug traffiking is defined by law as possession of a certain quantity of drug—which BOTH Misty and Ron HAD.
Therefore, they are being charged with drug trafikking according to the law, plain and simple—they are being appropriately charged.

LE will lock them up and do absolutely nothing else about it.
Those who think one or all is guilty of Haleigh’s disappearance will be thrilled.
Those of us who would like to know what happened to Haleigh and some proof of who’s responsible will never know. (Sad) That’s not justice for Haleigh – to me.
10% of $50,000 is $10,000? Oh boy! So, @ $1.35 million – 10% by my calculator is $135,000 – plus collateral… So, will the person willing to post this amount please raise their hand? Hmmm. Don’t see anyone for miles! Oh wait – you! Yeah you – thought we missed ya, didn’t ya? Guard, please get this man a straightjacket!
And just by chance that Misty get’s her bond lowered to say, $50k, will the idiot who would put up the $5,000 to bail her out come up to the front of the room and get fitted – we got a straightjacket for you too, after your spanking.
P.S. Same goes for Ronald, Tommy, Hope and Donna Brock (who BTW deserves a spanking regardless – I doubt she’ll be refilling prescriptions any time soon for resale or otherwise).
Unless they are protecting someone who is walking around free. Has anyone thought of that? They will be telling on that person. imho
What I say means nothing. LE will offer a deal to whoever talks and leads them to Haleigh, that goes without saying, but the problem I see is none of them have any information to lead LE to Haliegh—whether due to Misty not being in the MH that night (I dont believe she was out at a party and NOBODY from the party has talked), being out of it with drugs and not seeing, remembering, whatever. I am not satisfied that cutting a deal for these charges will lead to Haleigh. I DO know, however, that getting drug trafikkers off the streets and out of breeding is wonderful. Nothing can help Haleigh now, assuming she is gone, and I think most would agree she most likely is, BUT it WILL help protect innocent kids.

Tobias @ 6:52pm – Depends on the deal the person could get. Considering the many decades they all face now, how “low” will look worth it to anyone? Especially if they don’t have proof. And will LE bother looking at someone else? If someone hands them the evidence on a platter then MAYBE.

bonanzajellybean: I look at these arrests as LE plucking one pea pod off a stalk in an acre of peas (the drug trade). That’s great.
The biggest and best impact this could have – IF if gets enough publicity – is to discourage other kids from (a) ever using drugs and (b) from ever getting involved in the drug trade (buying or selling).
I’ll bet a LOT of young people don’t know how stiff the penalties are.
Star_Bright: Don’t worry. If anyone’s able to get her out on bail, they’ll keep a very close eye on her, she’ll wear an ankle monitor and it will be the last taste of freedom she’ll have until she’s a middle-aged or older woman.

I see major problems for Misty, no matter which direction she goes. If she points a finger at kidnapper X, kidnapper X will more than likely laugh as his attorney points out that Misty was on a 3 day drug binge on drugs that effect her memory, and therefore ANYTHING she says about that night is suspect, and Misty has a credibility problem what with all the drug traffiking charges, and a REAL INCENTIVE to point a finger to get HER OWN CHARGES REDUCED. SHe is going to have to cough up a live or dead Haleigh to be believed. Even THEN, what are the chances that the body will be intact for forensics, or any forenics being possible after a year in the elements????? Probably not very high, ESPECIALLY if it were a drug overdose. AND Misty will have been an accomplice, as she KNEW where the body was. How well will she survive prison after that? I cannot see a jury convicting Kidnapper X based on Misty’s testimony alone. They will merely point a finger BACK at Misty–who looks more guilty. If she confesses, she is facing negligent homicide during the commission of a felony (drug use)—life in prison, AND she wont survive prison, being a child killer and all. Will we EVER know for sure what happened to Haliegh?
Because the trafficking charges carry statutory MANDATORY MINIMUMS, the only way a judge can depart from sentencing is by 1) the State Attorney changes the charges to one which does not carry mandatory sentences ie: possession or 2)whereby the defendant offers “substantial assistance” in the instant case to LE – and what that means, they must set up and obtain convictions of others higher up the ladder who are dealing in at least 4 times the weight (and because of their high profiles, the defendants in this case could not hope to successfully assist in such an endeavor).
The ONLY hope that the entire gang has is that the SAO drops, abandons, nolle prosse, prior to trial (a highly doubtful pipedream considering LE’s vested interest) or, they go to trial and miraculously impanel a jury who will acquit them (another highly doubtful pipedream considering the video evidence of the transactions).
Collateral damage here: Haleigh Cummings, whose fateful story may never be known. And if you were Law Enforcement and tipped off to this gangs drug dealing ambitions – would you have not acted on it and failed in your duty to follow and enforce the law, even if you knew that it might mean NOT uncovering what happened to Haleigh? That should be the question to ask yourselves – because had it not been for LE getting in the way – these pills would have made their way to someone else. Perhaps, and accidentally, and fatally, an innocent 5 year old girl would have ingested one.
This is a cautionary tale – and a lesson for us all – in just what SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY really means.

I agree 100% That is what I was trying to say….drug traffiking is SERIOUS and effects many, many more Halieghs. I think they each deserve the max.
Just as I thought…NOTHING on the jailhouse tapes even suggesting what happened to Haliegh. Just NG and her panel of “experts” speculating about “hidden meaning” behind each of Mistys sentences. BS. Misty knows NOTHING, or she would have used it by now.
You are right Bjb. There was realy on the surface nothing but I did here Art Harris and Cobra . Cobra especially mentioned as far as Misty’s bail. But we all know no now from reports that won’t happen. I want recent tapes and I want Ron’s tapes to compare the 2 and lets then see what we all say.
She needs to take it to trial fight it and she will do OK. Use the time to get her education, counseling and move very FAR AWAY. Prior to this I was under the perception drugs were a thing in Ronald’s past. I was under the belief that he in no way had anything to do with the Croslin’s or others in a drug world only to find out he was BSing and was in the thick of it all. I thought it was a possibility Haleigh was with holding something from her dad that she was exposed to “children will do that” now I see that is not the case. Not every person who is in illegal life exposes their children to it, some clearly separate their family lives, that was not the case here. The answer is in this circle but Ronald is in the thick of it as much as they are. There is no way she will do life, there are to many cases of cops there doing mere years for far beyond this. Just Sunday was an episode of Unsolved Mysteries. One Florida department had 34 officers charged with shaking down drug dealers, rape, assaults, carrying out phony raids when one caused 3 people to jump off a ship and drown the cops stole 400 kilo’s of cocaine and then hired hits on the witnesses, they are serving 10 years. Who had heard of Florida and these cases before this case “no one” there is a reason for everything. Who had heard of Florida treating inmates this way? No one. Who had heard of Putnam and all that has come to light about there? No one, Who has now? Everyone.

xxxxxx Man, Tobias! unreal that you said that cuz’ I thought the same thing…brought tears to my eyes. It’s like he knew jig was up. I can’t help but think he knows he didn’t do right by her and now it’s tearing him up inside. On the other hand, Was it just me, or did anyone else think that hank appeared “buzzed”? either way, I still felt a little twinge of sympathy for him.

i guess(?) they are letting misty think that her bond is reduced to 50,000 and they only need 10% of 50,000. hank sr let her know there was not much hope of making bail.
i agree, that the arrests needed to be made. i really don’t think le could just sit back and watch what was going on with this group. the “5″ all knew they were on le radar!!!. and if le did not make arrests or do something about it some would scream about le failing to do something about that. the bond amounts are unusual. they really mean business!!!
but, i to share the fear they may never talk now, just like i feared they were already never going to talk anyway. but if there is an incentive to talk hopefully now they will. and if they do not have anything to talk about, i still wonder why they risked everything for a few bucks and a few “excitement thrills”.

i have been assuming there was a way to make deals, for info on hc if they know anything. thank you for the information and your opinions!
it sure is confusing the way hank sr and lisa and misty talk about her bonding out. i thought maybe l & h sr. wanted her to have hope. so they planned ahead to mislead her. lisa said it was reduced from 150,000 to 50,000. making it sound like the new bond amount was 50,000 not the 10%. but with all the recent family experience how could misty not understand. or if they themselves misunderstand, how?? and lindsy would set them straight? well it does not matter if padilla bonds her out.

Ms. P, methinks and Tobias. I could not help to tear up. I could feel their sadness. Lets us all pray that Misty will listen to her dads advice and tell everything about Haleighs disappearance. I am going to keep hope that Haleigh is alive.
I would like to ask your thoughts on what Jean Caseraus(spelling) statement that she felt Tommy had credibility to his statement that LE picked him up on these charges trying to get to Ron and Misty. That he dont know anything about Haleighs disappearance.

m2c I dont get a thrilled out of this all from your post that people will get a thrilled. I want answers I just believe that Ron is involved just like Misty and possible Tommy. They arent or havent talked yet about Haleigh. I just think Ron makes himself look guilty and I believe if he has something to do with his daughter disapperance then he should get what is coming to them and people in prision doesnt get off on people killing or hurting children most of them so he want have a fun time in prison and neither will that girl misty either.
I just wish our justice system was alot stricker then what they are. I believe people who murder people should not get to spend time in jail and think about what they did I wish they could get the same they did to their victims the same thing to them. Sadly its not like that they say they are put to death but thats years and years later why wait they didnt give their victims a chance in life. Its just what i believe in. But I know that God will get the final word in on those who does ugly it will come back and get them and guess what it is coming for Misty, Tommy, Ronald and whoever else involved.

i too, am still hoping that haleigh is alive. it is not hurting anyone or anything for us to keep hoping and praying for that.
maybe tommy is right that le thinks his arrest could help them find out the truth. but, tommy is making an excuse for the arrest itself. if tc did not participate, le would not have been able to arrest him, period! i don’t mean to be cruel hearted. maybe the drugs have messed up his mind so bad, he didn’t realize? i find that very hard to believe. i do however believe he might have just given up on himself. he knew the police were interested in his sister misty and also tommy himself. just about everyone there in palatka knows who misty and tommy are – they were flaunting this behavior right in the le faces! and so was ronald, donna, and hope!!!
tommy’s own behavior has made him a continued suspect in the disappearance of hc.
if any of the “5″ know what happened to haleigh, i hope they are given the opportunity to deal. i know this system is bad, but, it is all we have right now!

i guess i don’t understand the bonding process. on tv today, i heard a man say l.padilla only risks $13,500.00 so anyways, the croslins were correct. (they should be, they have had enough experience.)

i thought they were saying they didn’t have to pay the 10% because of some technicality. but instead he was saying the amount of money he could not be reimbursed of the 10%. well, maybe i should say i think i have got it now!
