Here is an interesting update from TJ Hart - Simon
The search for a missing Satsuma, FL has been underway for nearly a year. So far, no sign of the girl, but plenty of tips, interviews and evidence have been processed.
HaLeigh Cummings was last seen at her residence in the Hermit’s Cove area of Putnam County near Satsuma, FL on February 9, 2009 between the hours of 8-10pm. The last person to see HaLeigh was Misty Croslin. Her statements to police have been described as inconsistent and conflicts with some of the evidence.
After that, Putnam County Sheriff’s Office investigators have been holding what they know close to the vest.
For the first time, the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office has allowed cameras to enter the working area known and the HaLeigh Room where the volumes of interviews and other evidence is kept:
Pictured are many many binders of leads, suggestions, sightings, psychics, other agency reports, etc. The room is outfitted with it’s own computer system, DVD player, phone and other equipment.
You will notice a box full of brown folders. These are the transcripts of interviews with Misty. There is also 2 books of DVD/CD that contain video audio taped interviews(over 200 plus of these).
Maps on the wall along with time lines. I was not allowed to get close enough to photograph names on the timelines so as to not compromise the case.
As for those arrested in that drug case that may or may not be related to HaLeigh disappearance:
Croslin is now behind bars in St. John’s County on drug trafficking charges. She was arrested with HaLeigh father and her ex-husband Ronald Cummings who is in the Putnam County jail. The others arrested is Misty’s brother Tommy Croslin, her friend Donna Brock and Ronald’s cousin Hope Sykes.

My Possible Thoughts:
1)I think that with so much criticism heaped at them, LE are out to “dress to impress”.
2) Maybe even trying to give a hint that both cases ARE related, somehow.
3)Wanting the suspect(s) to get all tingly and nervy inside.

One of the panel on Nancy grace that is a prosecuting attorney. They said its because of the gun stolen while he was robbing oneof the places. moo
In Tennessee if you have a gun or more than one gun and drugs are found its double time in prison here.
I believe its because he already stole the gun and was on bail. Then he stole another gun while in the process of a robbery. And then drug trafficking charges. imho

I don’t imagine LE has made a move in this case that wasn’t a “tactic”.
I’m glad to see they have a room dedicated to investigating Haleigh’s case….as long as it doesn’t get too dusty.

Alot of people kept saying they are pointing at Misty and calling her the key. Maybe the box proves why she is the key.And that they are not just hounding her without reason. imo
It never ceases to amaze me how many people think LE is stupid.
This is really depressing when the only news to report is a “Haleigh room”. This case has gone cold. I dont believe LE will get any information on Haleigh from anyone they arrested. I think they are looking at the wrong people, and if they dont suspect that after a year, LE is REALLY going to have an unsolved case.
They have had help from the FBI.

Hi Kat, yes looks like LE had a whole case of pledge… and not just a half can! I really think that perhaps TomTom is the rag that was used for the dusting… maybe HIS ill-gotten toilette loot, matches something that is already in evidence.

The FBI does not seem to be helping LE to go in a direction leading to Haleigh. I still see the same worn out phrase —Misty holds the key. If misty holds the key, why not charge her with obstruction of an investigation? Because FBI and LE “THEORIZE” that because she was in the MH, she MUST know something. HELLO!!!! She was on a 3 day binge on drugs that impair the memory right before haliegh went missing. SHE MAY NOT KNOW ANYTHING, EVEN IF IT HAPPENED UNDER HER NOSE. Give yourself a hug, and say a little prayer, It always helps me when I feel like giving up. Haleigh needs all of us. We’vw all felt as you do now, your not alone. hugs to you.
I think that if you are an addict facing withdrawl if you go to jail you would hide anything just to stay out of jail. And from what we know there are at least two who are in withdrawl.imho

With all this talk about praying, has anyone ever thought of praying for our LE people? It would sure beat undermining them. (Not that I think anyone would *intentionally* do that.) Just my opinion.
I think Misty went out that night with Tommy and cousin Joe. It would be very easy for Tommy to say “yea I went to the trailor and noone was home” knowing Misty was with him all the time. I think Misty was with them in the van, put the blankets on them, left them in the van to sleep while the van was running. The exaust fumes got to Haleigh. When Misty,Tommy and Joe got back to the MH they prooped the weather door open, becauses it slamms shut and they had to carry 2 kids in. The interior door can be pushed open because it is not on a spring, like the weather door. They put block on the weather door to take the kids in and find out there is something wrong with Haleigh. I realy think that she died in the van from the fumes of the exaust from the van and Misty, Tommy, and Joe didn’t know it until they took the kids into the MH.
Tobias, They do have docs in jail and prisons too. My pastor is a RN and that is what he used to do, worked in a jail.
I believe in LE and always did. I believe they had evidence from the begining but needed more for a conviction to stick. I believe they are learning from the Anthony case that it is important to dot the i and cross the t. And there has been alot of false info to wade through also.imho
And maybe Misty is giving up T because he told LE (true or not), that she wasn’t at home that night? JMO

I agree that Tobias may have a point. They could of showed us the Haleigh room way before. Its like I posted the other day about hearing for the first time on the sunday talk show about the time clocks and that even though Ron was stated as not being a suspect but info may of come forward putting him closer to the top instead of bottom. I guess it the timing of everything being released. NG is allowing people to make statements or ask questions if Ron could be involved. NG would not allow nothing negative said or asked about Ron before. I have to agree with Tobias something seems amiss.

LE is taking an awfully long time dotting “i”s and crossing “t”s.
I have seen too many high profile cases never solved (example Jonbenet Ramsey) and they have the same pattern—-suspect from day 1 identified by LE, LE tries to get the evidence to show it is the suspect (instead of doing it the other way around), LE publically announces the suspect is the “key” or outright say “person of interest” hoping to get the person to buckle under public pressure and “confess”, LE acts like they have proof it is the suspect (but funny they never ARREST the person) LE looks in few other directions because they are convinced it is the suspect, and COLD CASE.
About the “timing” you all were discussing.
Just a thought: In early December, I believe, omeone formally requested that all LE’s files be made public under the Sunshine Law. The part of that law that covers cases where there are no charges, no pending charges and none in the forseeable future. Which is exactly where this case was in December (and IMO still is).
Of course PCSO denied the request. And I believe it was just after that that LE said some new info had come to light.
Anyway, the person took the next appropriate step and sent the request to the State Attorney General. THEN there’s the drug bust.
But LE said that was not connected to Haleigh (so they said). So NOW we get to see snaps of the Haleigh Room.
To make it look like they have done a lot/are doing a lot? To make it look like the case is NOT going cold? Just a thought.

Tobias, Yes, Tommy has skrewed himself one way or another. He was there at the home. I think that Misty was with him when Ronnie boy called. I think that his saying know one was home would protect him, and Misty would back him up. Misty fincking on him for this last little petty theft lets LE know that maybe Misty is telling the truth about Tommy and any thing else she says should be checked out. “Tell us one thing that we can verify as the truth and then we can believe any other info you give us” Here goes the rest of the story
Le in Jonbenet Ramsey case never investigated a lot of murders or abductions. I have a sister that lives in Co. and just last year visited the area. It is alot different from Putnam County by a very long shot. imho
alethea, your right, I didn’t think about that, also Jr. might have mentioned that. Also if tommy, misty and joe were together, misty wouldn’t have mentioned him as someone she didn’t trust on the following day or whatever…she would have protected him in order to keep their little secret safe.
Some of the people in jail (like T and M) are facing such long sentences that I wouldn’t be surprised if they were thinking “so what difference would it make if I did it?” What kind of bargaining is LE willing to do to get at the truth? Or is LE going to be “happy” getting them locked up forever on drug charges and think we’re going to be happy about that.
I’m not. I want to know what happened to Haleigh.
Alethea, Haleigh has Tunners syndrom that make her lungs weaker than JR. In my theory they got home in time to only save JR.
But why not just call 911 and tell she was in the van and was overcome by CO? Not anything to prosecute.imho

Read the Stephanie Crowe case in Escondido, close to where I live. Escondido police hands down have more experience with kidnappings and murder than Putnam county.
Here is a synopsis of the case:
Little girl found murdered in her home. Police zero in on brother from day 1, force him into a sort of “confession”, railroad the brother because LE is CONVINCED it is him, and when the girls blood showed up on a transients shirt, LE STILL blamed the brother, to avoid a lawsuit. Did not work—LE is having their collective A**ES sued by the girls family.
How is THAT for an example. Anyone with blind faith in LE IS blind.

There are a lot of questions LE asks even when it looks like an accident. Like where were you going? Why? Who was with you? When did this happen? (depending how long Haleigh might have been “gone” before anyone noticed). Potentially a lot of questions she or they would not want to answer not to even mention telling R who would want to know all that and more!

lso may I say that since there are only 3 people in my theory., and given what Tommy has already given up about Haleigh that night, it would be very easy for Misty to keep to her story, she was asleep and then you have Joe who people have alredy stated that his M.O. is to prop open doore for break ins. Misty was with them when Haleigh died and she is already setting her brother up for the fall. As per Ronny boy I can only ask one question that has bothered me, They ARE drug addicts. Ron says the bed was made,, noone slept in it, but the laundry was piled up, they napped all day because they fought all night Sunday, into Monday, I’m sorry but Misty and Ron,s life style does,t “we don,t do laundry all day and we nap all day, but we make the beds? PCSO has managed to “capture” ONE pea pod with five little peas in it. WhoopDeDoo! Give them a freakin’ medal and lets get on with finding Haleigh please!

ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. — Jailhouse surveillance video released Wednesday by the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office shows a tearful Misty Cummings talking with her mother via video conferencing.
Cummings, the last person to see missing 6-year-old Haleigh Cummings when she disappeared a year ago, is being held in the St Johns County jail on drug trafficking charges on $950,000 bond.
“Mom, I want out of here. I want out so bad,” Misty said while crying. “Man, I miss you guys. I’m stuck in this one little cell the whole time. They won’t let me do anything.”

On the surveillance video, Cummings repeatedly says she wants to go home.
Misty Cummings made her first appearance in court in St. Johns County on drug trafficking charges.
“I want out of here. Have you heard if my bond’s been lowered?” she said.
In a seven minute conversation with her mom, Cummings’ pending drug charges and the Haleigh investigation never come up.
“It sucks, man. I hope I don’t have to be here forever,” Cummings told her mom.
Misty also talked to her dad via video conferencing. However, the jailhouse surveillance video recording malfunctions, and the next thing to appear is Cummings’ brother Hank Croslin Jr.’s end of the conversation.
“How you doing? I love you,” Croslin says to his wife.
Haleigh soon becomes the topic of conversation.
“I know it’s hard. It’s hard for me to have you both locked up, but Misty don’t be lying about nothing because it will only bury you deeper,” Croslin’s wife said.
“Part of it Misty is you guys need to get with the truth and get this s— over with,” Croslin said.
At two different times during their conversation, Croslin gestures, covering his mouth.
“They say you sold over 300 pills,” his wife told him. “How many times did you sell it yourself?”
“I don’t understand why you didn’t come forward before?” his wife continued. “You should have left when I told you to go to Michigan. The Haleigh stuff’s got to come to an end. The truth’s got to come out, and you don’t be talking without your lawyer.”
After a full hour, Cummings’ dad reminds her once again to speak the truth.
“Got to be strong, tell the truth,” he told her. “Don’t lie about nothing no more. I love you, too.”
m2c,I know Ron said the beds were made. When law LE came I’m sure they were. There life life style and the fact they napped all day says the beds were not made. I know what Ron says. I know what Misty says , I know what ggms says. Their life style and laundry piled up, and napping all day does’nt Yeah but I make the beds.

No matter who it came can’t believe, given their age qand life style and the fact that blankets were taken from a window, i.e. a shortage of blankets that Misty or Ron made sure the bed was madew. ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. — Jailhouse surveillance video released Wednesday by the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office shows a tearful Misty Cummings talking with her mother via video conferencing.
Cummings, the last person to see missing 6-year-old Haleigh Cummings when she disappeared a year ago, is being held in the St Johns County jail on drug trafficking charges on $950,000 bond.
“Mom, I want out of here. I want out so bad,” Misty said while crying. “Man, I miss you guys. I’m stuck in this one little cell the whole time. They won’t let me do anything.”

On the surveillance video, Cummings repeatedly says she wants to go home.
Misty Cummings made her first appearance in court in St. Johns County on drug trafficking charges.
“I want out of here. Have you heard if my bond’s been lowered?” she said.
In a seven minute conversation with her mom, Cummings’ pending drug charges and the Haleigh investigation never come up.
“It sucks, man. I hope I don’t have to be here forever,” Cummings told her mom.
Misty also talked to her dad via video conferencing. However, the jailhouse surveillance video recording malfunctions, and the next thing to appear is Cummings’ brother Hank Croslin Jr.’s end of the conversation.
“How you doing? I love you,” Croslin says to his wife.
Haleigh soon becomes the topic of conversation.
“I know it’s hard. It’s hard for me to have you both locked up, but Misty don’t be lying about nothing because it will only bury you deeper,” Croslin’s wife said.
“Part of it Misty is you guys need to get with the truth and get this s— over with,” Croslin said.
At two different times during their conversation, Croslin gestures, covering his mouth.
“They say you sold over 300 pills,” his wife told him. “How many times did you sell it yourself?”
“I don’t understand why you didn’t come forward before?” his wife continued. “You should have left when I told you to go to Michigan. The Haleigh stuff’s got to come to an end. The truth’s got to come out, and you don’t be talking without your lawyer.”
After a full hour, Cummings’ dad reminds her once again to speak the truth.
“Got to be strong, tell the truth,” he told her. “Don’t lie about nothing no more. I love you, too.”

Tommy is still my number 1 suspect. But I must say, listening to him, reminds me of the terrible upbringing he had. Tommy & Misty should have been removed from Lisa & Hank’s care…..Lisa & Hank made those kids what they are. They probably had those kids dealing drugs for them when they were barely out of diapers. Such a tragic case.

Not the actual details but most of what the timeline is about and there is something on line 2, just before and after midnight (since the dark verticle line indicates Midnight)
Same thing on line 3. I propose Misty’s timeline is line 1 since she gave hers first.
Then lines 2 & 3 are??? Ron? Tommy? Joe? I’m not sure but definately 3 people’s timelines.
Ron is line 2 since he also was on scene for LE reports and that is the last thing on the timeline for 1 & 2. Then line 3 is probably TC. It shows something for around 10:00 pm when he claimed to be there……Anybody else see something different?

I agree that the kids are in an appalling environment. Left up to us we would remove them. It is unfortunate, however, that they are not alone. If every child were removed from homes like that, there would not be enough foster care for them. Short of banning parents like this from breeding (which I actually would approve of), I dont see an easy solution.

Explaination of Timeline structure:
Right click on picture 7. Save to your documents. Open from documents with a picture viewing program (Window’s Picture & Fax Viewer)
There you have the option to increase zoom.
Zoom in 3 or 4 times. You need to be looking at the poster furthest from the camera. The one in the forfront is a Family Tree, and I think we all know that one by heart. As well as key ifgures and how they relate to this case.

Then there are three horizontal lines as per timelines of Misty, plus two others.
I think Misty is line #1 since she was the first person to give account of the night’s events & give a timeline. (Most important)
We see a lot of activities logged for the morning hours till about noon. Then there is no activity until about 5:00 pm (nap time, her & Jr.) 5:00 Pm until 10:00 PM a few activities (dinner, kids bedtime, her reported bedtime)
The dark verticle line represents Midnight. Activity from approx 1:00 am until 3:30 Am when 911 call was made.
I believe the second line represents Ronald. THe reason I think this is that line is the only other person who was there @ time of 911 call. On that line there is no activity until noon. Then activity until approx 8:00 pm. No activity until approx 11:00 pm. (Just before Midnight) Full on activity from 11:00 until 3:00 am. This timeline could represent TC, but only if he was there during 911 call.
Line #3 Activity at 6:00 am & 8:00 am. No further activity until Noon. From noon to 7:00 pm there are several activities, From 9:00 pm until Midnight there are 3 activities before Midnight and activity continues from Midnight until 2:00 am but person is NOT there when 911 call is made. This leads me to believe it is Tommy.
If that timeline is true, there are some “discrepancies” as to what people have been claiming. Are we there yet?

The thing that stood out most to me was Tommy telling his wife that he may not even go to prison, and she says, “I know, I’m noy saying anything.” Tommy says, “Don’t tell anyone anything. They are just trying to throw a scare into us.” She says again, “I know, we’re not saying anything.”
All of this really stood out to me. Who is the we that Lindsey is referring to? She knew instantly what Tommy was talking about. He may not be going to prison, so don’t talk about what happened to Haleigh.
Tommy, said, “Somebody needs to tell Misty, all this s–t! Somebody needs to make sure she knows that they are just trying to throw a scare into us.” (as close as I could remember all of what they said)
He jumped from telling Lindsey to stay quiet to wanting to warn Misty, that they were just trying to throw a scare into them. He wanted her warned, so she would stay quiet.
This lets me know that Tommy, Lindsey,Misty, and some others know what happened to Haleigh. Lindsey knew instantly that Tommy was warning her to stay quiet.
I want to watch Hank Croslin, Sr’s video again, also. Someone above said they thought they noticed Hank give Misty the qt sign when he spoke about, telling the truth about Haleigh. Was he sincere in telling her to tell all she knew or was he saying that to look good and giving her the qt sign to keep her quiet?

hello peggy, just wanted to say i too have not ruled out co2 poisoning. i think it is one possiblity of what happened that night! moo!
the bouncing couch! the blankets! phone off! moved and scratched van1 the cinder block to help bring children in and out on side of home - maybe more discreet from eyes!
if misty really did not want to babysit, maybe she had other plans. just a meet up to see someone? or a party? even a meet up somewhere to buy drugs?
decides to take kids in the van. gives medication or drugs in snack to help children sleep better and they will be less likely to wake up while out. (if they wake while out, they could tell ron, any one of their grandma’s or even crystal when they see her, about how misty takes them out at night.) covers children with blankets. while sleeping in the back of the van, the van is left running due to cold night. i wondered if the bouncing couch jr. was hearing was really the back seat in the van with someone moving around or “fooling around.” if jr was half out of it with dreams, he may have thought it was the couch he heard bouncing. haleigh being older and more aware to tattle may have been given more medicine - so she may have been more vulnerable to co2. or if not more medicine maybe she was just more vulnerable to co2 due to health differences. the reason police were not called till ronald came home was to give drug time to work out of jrs system so he would not appear unusually groggy.
- would not be ruled an accident if meds were found in her body.
- m.c. may just be afraid of the police, so instinct was to cover up in a panic.
- m.c. just did not know how to handle a emergency.

It seems to me that LE has them cold on the drug charges. How could he even think they can get out of those charges?
Hi m2c, I am no expert on this but I see how these charges could be reduced tremendously with a good lawyer. They are so huge because trafficking implies they intended to distribute. So they are charged as though they were buying to resale. I don’t see how that can stick. They can just say they were buying to take them themselves. If so, I can see how a felony would turn to a misdemeanor and could get just probation or a much lighter sentence. I think they have definitely beefed up these charges to justify such high bail. But like I said I could be totally wrong just something to think about.

i have been so confused by lisa, misty and hank’s talk of the amount of money needed to bond misty out. i mean they have had recent experiences, so how could they be wrong. i thought at first lisa and hank were letting misty think the amount was less to help her keep hope of bonding out. but, that didn’t really make sense because, misty too would know how much to bond herself out (math calculations aside). and i thought lindsy (she can read) would know the truth. well on tv today they said l. padilla only needs $13,500.00 not $135,000.00 so the croslins are correct! i thought it was 10% of the total bond for $135,000.00 which is a heck of a difference to bond her out. then i wonder if the others will eventually bond out too.
well on tv today i heard if l. padilla works with misty’s lawyer as an employee he only has to come up with the instate bond amount, which is $135,000.00. and he only has to actually put up 10% of that which is $13,500.00. i have to say i really did misunderstand the amount needed to get her out???? still not confident as many here have been talking about 10% of the total bond.
msp, I listened to a special one time that Simon & Cobra did on bail bondsman and I think it is state law in Florida that the bondsman has to post 10%. Maybe Simon can answer that for you to be certain but I think if Misty’s bond is $1,350,000. that he has to pay $135,000 to bail her out. Hope that helps.

about the bond, that is what i thought it was $135,000.00 to bond misty out. then i heard on msnbc today that l. padilla only risks $13,500.00 dollars so it is worth the risk to bond her out! and with what lisa ($10,000.00)and then hank ($13,000.00) told misty about the amount of money needed, i am now thinking it is only 10% of 10% for a bonds person. thank you for telling me the way you understand it. you know if i ever finish catching up today with all the threads, and i still don’t understand it, i will write a question to jan if simon or tj could explain it to us! that is a good idea, thank you!!!
