Then teaching our children how to deal with anxiety and fear, especially with the way that they speak to themselves. Finally having them role play actual situations so they feel safe and confident if they are bullied. Once those things are accomplished then we can role play and invite them to not be a bystander - but rather to stand up to the bully and for others. All of this requires time, patience and skill on the part of the parents.
