Freedom of speech means that we ALL have the right to speak our mind. If I want to tell you the truth about Christ then I have the right to do so. If you listen, then you chose to listen. As a Christian we believe it is our responsibility to teach others about Christ, without judging. Do Christians have to watch some of the vile movies made today? Certainly not. Do people as a whole suffer at the hands of those who glorify these vile acts in their movies, songs, etc? Yes they do! Has it not been proven time and time again that some people act out the violence they've seen? Yes! But where is the outcry from silenced "good" people? Movies and songs encouraging violence is just one example of how leaving Christianity (or other religious beliefs for that matter) out of our lives as a world causes turmoil. Surely Jews, or even Muslims do not wish for people to murder one another, or lie, or steal. You say don't talk about Religion in public, and then wonder why the public is subjected to so many evils of the world. It's because some people do not want others to tell them they can't get drunk, or cheat, or lie, or stop whatever it is that they enjoy doing so much. It's too inconvenient for some to hear the truth about the pain their wrongful actions cause. It's too inconceivable to believe that such a high majority of people could be so wrong. Dare I reiterate what the bible says? That the number of people who enter the Kingdom of Heaven will be FEW! I do not believe that all people who say, "keep religion to yourself", are people who do NOT believe in God. I believe they are people who are afraid of persecution. You are turning your back on God when you say He should not be weaved into our every moral fiber. I will not be silenced, nor am I afraid to believe in or speak of God.

Wow! Since when did the United States become a church and Obama become its religious leader? Your post indicates that YOUR religion should be foremost in celebrating a season in which MANY faiths acknowledge a sacred holiday of the return of the light/sun/son. Our President has no obligation to support Christianity because this certainly is *not* a Christian nation. It was not founded on Christianity and it was never intended to be Christian, in fact, strong language and many policies were put in place to prevent exactly that! If your priest or pastor did this, I could understand your angst but as has been eloquently pointed out in the past; Obama put his hand on the bible and swore to uphold the Constitution. He did not put his hand on the Constitution and swear to uphold the bible!"Secondarily, since when did Christians get to be so sentimental over a "Christmas" tree? That symbol does not belong to you and has nothing to do with Christianity. Lastly, if you are going to vilify all Muslims for the violent acts of a few; I challenge you to apply that to your own faith with its current and historical reputation of death and bloodletting. The US prison system is not filled with Muslims or Jews, or Buddhists; 90% of that population is Christian, including your clergy. Your problems are a lot bigger than how Obama chooses to celebrate in December. Religion is not a competitive sport. Keep it in your churches and your homes, where it belongs.

So why should there be any surprise that his majesty further blasphemes Christianity, i.e. the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ? After he mocked and jeered, Holy Bible in hand during his pseudo campaign, and more recently commenting to the world that the "United States is not a Christian nation," no disrespectful behavior by him towards our Christian heritage should be an unexpected occurrence.

Bet he will not say anything derogatory towards his own personal heritage. Perhaps his brother who lives in the hut could share some insight into the family history.

You missed his entire point. Our protection of religious freedom means that we are gloriously free to have our own religious beliefs and not have them imposed on us by others, or under pressure from others. I remember having Christmas celebrations as a child in school and the little jewish kids were either left out or lamely celebrated with us about something in which they did not believe. Tell me how that is fair and supports our religious freedoms.

I am so thankful that I live in a country that allows us all to believe as we will, without having someone else's religion shoved down our throat, whether Protestant, Catholic, Jew, Hindi, Muslim, agnostic, or atheist. We are truly, truly blessed.
