If we want to increase the size of the military just pay more and they'll come. Why shouldn't soldiers be paid what their contemporaries in civilian life get paid? That's the argument I always hear about other Federal workers. If you want freedom, if you want security then pay for it Rep. Rangel but don't expect it for free by trying to re-start the draft. We pay enormous sums of money to support congress and all their perks so let's just pay the armed forces for what they do. I am a Vietnam war vet and I'm proud to say that the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines today are the best we've ever had so don't go and screw it up with a draft Charlie.
