stormgardner,
I do not know the statistics of that particular isuation, but will do some reasearch to find the answer(s). It is my belief that there would be a higher ratio amongst siblings than most realize. Then again there are abuse cases wherein only one child, the skapegoat child, is abused while the others are treated normally. It's a strange world. I am just finishing up section 2. I hope to have it published by late Saturday.

After reading your articles, I can now in hind sight recognize some of the things you talked about. I will never judge someone again based just on what I see. With sexual abuse cases, things can go either way. Some girls may be promiscuous. Some may withdraw totally and not want anything to do with sexual activity at all. It's hard for them to have a normal relationship, even with a loving partner. In these cases, you can only hope that they've shared their experience with their partner so they can understand and hope that person is compassionate and gives the victim time to trust again and gives them the space they need.
Fairly recently I had someone close tell me their story. Only then did I understand some of their behavior. It hasn't been told, but I believe her sister was abused as well, but she just hasn't told anyone. I think she put it to the back of her mind. I hope she gets help as well. From what I understand talking to others. Usually if it happens with one sibling, the other has an experience of some degree as well.
Holly'sGMom, do you know if that is true?
Everyone have a great day, I'll try and check back later

For some this movie is mild entertainment and that's great. For others this film is a wealth of information into the destructive behavior patterns of abuse survivors, even better. You can walk away from it's viewing shaking your head and wondering "Why that girl is such a slut?" or you can walk away from it's viewing, and hopefully my finished review series with a more complete understanding of these people, thier issues, and what, if anything, one can do to help them overcome or get control over the destructive behaviors. I hope you all choose to continue along with me.

Pinkie/humbled There is a new show airing on TLC I believe, that covers that exact topic. I think it could be a very timely issue. I will be thinking about what all I would like to say. I feel strongly about interviewss with people who have lived it, since it is not something I have experienced myself. Be thinking about what you would want the "world" to know.
Pt 2 of my continuing series will be posted soon. Part 2 goes in depth from scene one chapter one, through end scene chapter 2 of the DVD. There is so much to discuss.

Justice & Stormgardner;

I want to thank you for your comments. They are precious words to me. I had been somewhat nervous as to what the response to my first article would be or even if there would be any response(s). LOL I really do appreciate you feedback, ideas, and personal involvement with these issues. Together we may be able to help stop the suffering. I am very excited about this series, as well as a few others I have plans for in the future. I expect to post the 2nd installment by Saturday/Sunday.
PS I like the interview by Simon & Jan idea too! Although I would be a little nervous too.

Very well written article. Not only informative for others, but I'm hoping by making others aware, it could help you in the ongoing healing process.
I know you probably don't feel this way, but you may be an angel in disguise to some. There are those who have probably been dealing with this pain in their own private hell thinking no one would understand, or have been threatened in some way with what would happen if they did tell, or maybe be ashamed. Children most often blame themselves. They need to know it is never their fault.
I too am looking forward to your articles.
Justice mentioned you possibly doing a one on one interview with Simon & Jan. I think it's a great idea. You may be able to shed some light on this. You know what to look for and how these people feel. Who better to be an advocate?
I hate that you had to go through this at all, but you are doing a very courageous thing by talking about it and helping others. You have a special place in heaven.

Hello,Lesa Conway!

I enjoyed your very informative and interesting article. It is well written.

I look forward to your future articles. It is commendable of you to share your personal experiences regarding child abuse, etc.

I am an active advocate for child, elderly and animal abuse. I feel these are segments of society that need a "voice" to ensure their treatment and protection by society.

I, like many others, have been working with my State Representatives and we have seen new laws enacted in our state. I am currently working with issues that I hope will be introduced in my state's next legislative session.

I think it would be wonderful if Simon and Jan would do a one-on-one interview with you. It would help raise awareness in the plight of child abuse. I know many folks that do not read blog sites but they do listen to radio programs.

Lesa, I am wishing you the very best in your endeavor. I am looking forward to your future articles!
