JB I agree with you about why isnt the mother not charged the same thing. She put her precious little girl in harms way.

May God bless and bring peace and comforting to Shaniya. May this little girl rest in peace. Will light a candle in memory of all the little angels in heaven on Thanksgiving Day like I do every year. I have one candle for my son (my angel) and alot of other candles for all the other angels that gone to heaven too soon.

Treece - what a beautiful and comforting post you made. While it was meant for “Brokenheartedmom”, I believe it has brought comfort to all of us. I too believe Shaniya no longer has any fears or memory of what happened to her. She is at peace and playing at God’s feet in perfect Angelic joy and happiness. Her death, as painful as it is to us left behind, probably saved her from more painful and hideous abuse here on earth. God called her home to save her from further pain and suffering at her mother’s hand. I thank God for his mercy in saving this child from this horrid situation. Her earthly father could not (or did not) protect her from the hell her mother put her through so her heavenly father stepped in and took her home. No more sorrow, no more pain. While the death of a child is always heartbreaking, in some situations it seems it is actually a saving grace for these poor children who are in terrible situations and are faced with daily abusive situations. Just think if he had only raped her and let her live. Would her mother have farmed her out to others to pay her drug debts or to acquire her next “fix”? What horrors might Shaniya have continued to suffer whereas now she is at peace and safe from harm. Thank you again Treece for putting this situation in perspective and providing us a way to heal and to cope with this dreadful situation.

brokenheartedmom, you can rest assured that she has no pain there, no pain physically or emotionally. She is truly living what she was created to be and do. I think there are some questions that we won’t get an answer to until we are in heaven ourselves. Most of us have an number of why’s in our lives so I am not claiming to have all the answers. But when God created us and gave us free wills instead of making us robots it gave us the opportunity to exalt ourselves. So when God gave us freedom it also left room for freedom to do terrible things. I can assure you His heart hurt for her, wiped her tears, and healed her to perfection, engulfed in His perfect love. Shaniya wouldn’t come back if she could. She is living her ultimate. JMO, hope it gives you some comfort. Treece

I am at a loss for words and cry everytime I see that monster with her. I know in my heart she is in Heaven and at peace, I do so hope that we forget the bad thing’s that happened to us here I would hate it if she remembers. I am having hard time latley with why God allows this to happen to our children and my faith in him sometimes waivers. I am dealing with my own memories from my childhood and I am thinkful that I do not remember everything only enough to mess me up inside my head. Just the thought of what that beautiful little girl went thru kills me, how in God’s name can people like be allowed to prey on children? I will forever have faith but there are times.

Thank you for the article it was beautful. May she rest in peace and never remember. I think there are enough of us here that will take that burden from her.

Why has LE not charged this “mother” with murder yet? What are they waiting for? It is obvious this child was not kidnapped….the mother even admits she saw her at 5:30 that morning she vanished…..the creep that raped and murdered her was seen on video at the hotel 30 minutes away a little after 6:00. There is no way he abducted this child without the mother knowing. She HANDED this baby to a child rapist/murderer. SO CHARGE HER ALREADY! God Bless you Shaniya. The guilty WILL pay one way or another!

Jan you have really touched my heart with this article. I cry every time I see that monster carrying Shaniya. It really makes me feel sick to my stomach. I know she is now in the safe arms of the Lord and noone can ever hurt her again. He will get his punishment, but to me it will not be severe enough. I want him to be tortured still his last breathe leaves his pathetic body and his soul enters hell where he will never have peace!!!!!

This is not about a little girl getting on someone’s nerves. It’s about drugs, and money. Using drugs is glorified by movie makers, and the like. I’m not saying drug usage is all a movie producers fault, but I am saying they should never make drug usage look cool. The less unfortunate cannot split the cell here. They see it on television and they think it is a way of life. Not all drug users are evil, but all drug users will cross wires with an evil person. When this happens innocent children get caught up in someone’s mistake.

I do feel in this case that the mother should suffer the same jail sentence as the murderer. She gave her 5 year old daughter to prostitution. Tears well up now just thinking about it again. I can just hear that jerk pretending to Shaniya that he’s her friend. It’s too difficult to think about the rest of the truth here. I’m not perfect, but this is just intolerable and wicked.

If you are reading this and you think you could be putting your child in harms way because of your drug usage or co-habitating with drug sellers, then please, give your child up for adoption. Get your child out of harms way. The mother in this situation had someone to give Shaniya to, her father. Her father would have loved her. This makes no sense. No sense at all.

It is so sad that our law has become a haven for the child murderers of today. The liberal laws have been made to protect the rights of the evil.We see the results every day. I find comfort in knowing that God is not liberal.He judges for the deeds done.
Little Shaniya is forever safe in Heaven…along with Caylee Marie and all the innocent lives that have been taken.They are forever happy and at peace, while those who have taken their lives will not be spared judgement for their cruel acts. There is NO liberal laws in Heaven…only JUSTICE…RIP LITTLE ANGELS….

You will not have died in vain! Youre life has stood for something. You have been extremely love in life and now by the world over in your ceath. I personally have been so moved by your story specifically, that I have been inspired to start writing a series of articles here at BNN. I have already recieved permission and am awaiting review by the editors of my first article in the series: Black Snake Moan: Life Imitating Art Imitating Life; a survivors perspective. It will be addressing the life-long effects of abuse of all types, but most especially sexual abuse. I will be using the movie BSM as a guideline to discuss my own issues as well as correlations between the story and a current missing child case, Haleigh Cummings. This series will contain some information about Child Sex Trafficing, it’s effects on survivors, & information.
However, I am planning to devote another series entirely to Shaniya Davis’s murder. I know first hand the terror of what she went through. The total abuse of trust from the parent, life-long effects of the trauma specifically, and more. I would like to use my voice to help keep Shaniya’s name alive.
