The Occupational Safety and Health Administration has fined a contracting company from the Buffalo area of New York, having cited the company on ten counts of serious workplace violations. The company was found to have been involved in dangerous practices with regards to the assessment of asbestos.

The company has been fined fifty thousand dollars by OSHA, with the violations said that have occurred at a project where asbestos laden pipe insulation had to be removed as part of a renovation project that was being carried out.

The law is very strict when it comes to the removal and disposal of asbestos due to the dangers of this potentially deadly carcinogenic, and certain regulations have to be followed when it comes to the removal and disposal of the substance.

The company was found to failed to following these guidelines and regulations when working on the project, potentially putting the health of workers as well as other people at risk from exposure to asbestos dust and fibers.
