I know just how you feel. I feel mycurrent financial problems have root in myanxiety issues that were produced by the traumatic events of childhood. A time when the brain is especially vulnerable to alteration in many forms. I hope things are looking brighter

I have seen the movie a couple of times, and never could understand why it didn’t get enough play/noticed at the box-offices. More than likely due to its subject matter, which is a shame that Hollywood really hasn’t caught up with society. These things DO happen, people Do live this.

On another note, I too applaud you for coming forward and sharing. As with the A-word, Anxiety, I call it a thief. I have/am being robbed by it DAILY.

I thought about Haleigh from the 1st line. Even though she has a mother, she doesn’t have her in her daily life. That still can do some damamge to a child. What if the mother has no time due to other children, men, problems & issues? What if the father stands in the way of the child and mother having a good, strong relationship? What if both are to blame? Then she IS a motherless child. When a child can’t count on thier mom to comfort them when they are sad, take care of them when they are sick, teach them how to be a Lady, they might as well be motherless. At least that was the way I felt and still feel.
I thought about Misty, myself, and how much I was like her in my youth with the line about “games they don’t want to play”. I thought, with tears streaming, about poor little Caylee, Somer & Shaniya with the line “some are just thrown away”. I’m sure that I’ve left out some of these precious angels we’ve come to love & care about.

Thank you so much for your replies. I had been on pins and needles all day wondering and worrying about what the response might be. Not that even 1 person has been “ugly” about such matters, just a little anxiety. I have been toying with the idea of emailing Simon & Jan through the “writers wanted” link about writing a series of articles that take an in depth look at this movie, the issues it portrays and how they relate to adult survivors, as well as my own imput as one of these survivors. That was part of what triggered my epsisode. I had been trying to determine if I wanted to tell my accounts via 1st person or the safer, easier 2nd person perspective. In 2nd person I can emotionally distance myself more but I had wondered if 1st person wouldn’t be more potent. Would it reach more people? So I started kind of writing it out in my head like that, trying it on. It didn’t take long to figure out that I’m not ready for 1st person perspective yet. Maybe one day but for now 2nd person is best.
I just wanted to say that I rewatched this movie again today after several months and was jaw-droppingly shocked at just how much that story and this family’s stories are alike. I mean wow! There’s even a WBG character. There’s a glimps of her cohorts who amazingly remind my of Nay Nay and Amber in looks as well as the role they play in Rae’s life. Justin Timberlake’s character is named….gulp, Ronnie. (I had forgotten that when I recommended it) There’s guns, Oxycontins, a mother who is so involved in self she can’t help her daughter become a woman…If anyone has any interest at all, please watch it. If it touches you or moves you I implore you to watch the commentary & special features. They explain so much than what meets the eye. Plus I have worried about high-jacking Simon & Jan’s forum with my message.

I haven’t read Art’s “Anna” case. What’s up with it? Anna was done wrong, very sad case. Her, Danny, Baby Girl, and family. Waste and shame. I hope Justice prevails. This is a crime towards these people.

This video is sort of a trailer for the film as made by a fan, from the motion picture Black Snake Moan. It gives you a look into the life of an “adult” child sexual abuse survivor and the impact of that abuse upon thier entire being. As well as a look at a male physical abuse survivor’s challenges in staying in a relationship with her. The movie stars Samuel L Jackson, Christina Ricci, and Justin Timberlake. If you would like a look into the world of the “Misty’s” out there, this is a good peep. Notice in the trailer’s opening as well as the opening of the movie the girl is flipping off the tractor driver in defiance rather than move out of the way. At the end of the trailer notice where Samuel’s character brings the unconcious girl he finds in the road out front of his house inside. He rolls her over to get her to speak to him, tell him who she is, who hurt her, ect. As she is comming to from unconsiousness she speaks then kisses him. She does this because through her abuse she learned that this is what men want. She truely believes it to be true, so when she wakes up in a strangers house she offers herself to him rather than be brutally raped again. He shoves her away, as that is not his intention. As she lies partially clothed on the floor she experiences what looks like a seizure. She is mentally, emotionally, and physically reliving her trauma. Sam runs out the door scared, he thinks she may be possesed due to the way she is acting. This, folks is just the tip of the iceburg, for this look into the life of a survivor. By the end of the movie she finally comes to terms with her abuse, confronts her mother for turning a blind eye, and learns some coping mechanisms for not “acting out” in the future. I warn you though, it may not be for the faint of heart as it is very realistic and graphic in places. However, I find it to be one of the best depictions of a PTSD Episode some survivors experience. I am one of those survivors. Just this morning I had a traumatic memory spark an episode. Thankfully my best friend C was there with me and helped me through it. Even though he is a guy, he gets what is going on, knows the techniques to combat an episode, knows to start the techniques immediately, as the episode can last anywhere from 10-30 minutes. The longer one waits to start the techniques, the worse the damage done by the episode in emotional & physical tolls.Not to mention risking a visit by PD as screaming is extremely likely. Thankfully I married a man who could relate and has taken the time to learn these techniques as well. He’s the one who helped teach our friend.
If you ever wonder why young women sleep around a lot, allow abusive men into thier lives, flirt with prostitution, ruin thier lives with drugs and/or alcohol, this movie will answer some of those questions. It could explain a lot in relation to a certain someone who was “sleeping” as well as the absentee parent.

It was also on that site that I found the information “substantiated” about Roy Kronk, that we had been discussing on another thread.

When all this “Hot Mess” gets cleared up, pushed to the side, maybe now we can have hope and clarification what has been going on in the case, and what can now take center stage and find the real true answers since the games have been played, now the strong and good will prevail, and we can have Haleigh home, one way or the other.

Over the past few years, I’ve know quite a few people who suffer from seizures and the one thing they all had/have in common is xanax.

Say one person gets a script of either the 1.0’s or the 2.0’s (which they call bars), they then share the script with say their husband. This script that is supposed to last four weeks for one person - runs out (depending on how bad the addiction is) in one to three weeks. Then they have to wait for the next script to come due. But xanax is a drug you can’t stop taking abruptly and one must be weaned off it; hence the seizures.

Also, people addicted to xanax are some of the most hateful people you’ll ever meet. They are either hateful, stoned, passed out, or drug sick/having seizures.

I think everyone knows someone who is or was addicted to prescription drugs. The oxi’s and pain killers are just as bad. I know people that are so hooked on painkillers, that if they don’t have them, they swear it feels like they have bone cancer.

Xanax are just particularly nasty because of the seizure aspect, from withdrawl.

I’m beginning to think none of these kids stand a chance.

As far as TH goes, He does not make stuff up. If he puts it out there you can take it to the bank that he has it documented and proof that it was said to him verbally or in an email. There are no hiding sources when it comes to TH, that is for sure.

But, I am beginning to wonder, after all that Tim H. brought out, and is called names.. such as Crayon Boy, and accused, threatened, really verbally abused by many people..

Now, If you have read and learned this last week about what has really gone on in this muck and you see the names of the primary players, we have to question the charecter of many and the extents they would go to, their agenda’s..

What if Tim H. is not the bad guy?? What if he is right on the money?? Absolutely, right, Honest and Truthful…

I hate to tell you guys but its something to look at.. And many people might well owe him one big huge apology, even thought, pride is hard to swallow. But, I would rather stand up and be someone I can be proud of looking at in the mirror, than to stand on falsehoods. I think it’s quite possible he was a victim..

I went to his website in the very beginning of this case, and I didn’t care for the bloggers so I left. Not sure how I found this site, but I try to listen on Sundays and I have an occuring email for this site when Jan & Simon have something to add. So this is my site.
Which I believe & trust. I love Simon’s posts, I love when Cobra jumps in as well. Simon, between you, Cobra, TJ & Art, can I assume you know what happened to Haleigh, but without proof you can’t say??
