Dear TheSexLady:

As a woman doc, I tended to see mainly the teenaged girls, with the male docs seeing the teenaged boys.

Many of the younger girls who were "promiscuous" were from dysfuncitonal families. They were sexually abused by older men (high school seniors hitting on the ninth graders, or even worse, incest, or neighborhood predators). Many of these abused girls gave into sex out of social pressure. Slam bam thank you mam. No foreplay, no love, no kindness or cuddling.

The older girls were often mature, and courting with boys who loved them enough to make love to them. Some of them ended up marrying the boy; others went on to another relationship but were never promiscuous.

and most of my gay patients were lesbians, who didn't need to use condoms.

It sounds like you assume that girls who sex only do so to "give in" to boys, rather than for the sake of their own pleasure, is that true?

What exactly will you accomplish by giving condoms to "17-year-olds who have steady boyfriends and are planning to go to college." So you mean the condoms should be given to girls, and not guys? Or are you talking also about gay guys with steady boyfriends? And if they don't plan to go to college, or if they have no steady boyfriend but are sexually active, then they don't need the condoms? Boy am I confused.
