It was announced today that the attorney who represented Crystal Sheffield for several months, Kim Picazio has been cleared of all wrong doing by the Florida Bar Association. A complaint concerning Picazio had been filed on behalf of her ex-client Cyrstal Sheffield. A complete version of the letter can be found here.
There is one part that I find most curious, this is in the section discussing Picazio’s reasons for not filing for a change of custody hearing:
…Ms. Picazio also contends that your current living situation, health concerns, inability to work, and drug addiction/seizures prevented her from filing a petition for a change in custody
The key in this sentence is Drug Addiction. I read this and then showed the letter to my wife to confirm my memory. “Whoah there” was Jan’s comment, ‘This is not what Picazio said to us’.
Several months ago I had written some fairly critical articles about Kim Picazio and uninvited she popped in on one of our Sunday broadcasts. During this conversation Cobra brought up the subject of Crystal’s drug use. Picazio hotly denied that Crystal uses drugs, and most certainly was not an addict.
I am sure that with a little digging around in Blog Talk Radio vaults I can find the sound bite. As the saying goes ‘From the horses mouth.’
We will no doubt be discussing this on the program on Sunday.
Update: I have found the program in question, it is here. Kim Picazio joins in at the 41 minute mark. At 52 minutes, the drug question comes up. And I need to correct the record, it was not Cobra that brought the subject of drugs up, it was a caller. Picazio goes to great lengths to talk about how Crystal is ‘clean’.
Listening to the recording which occurred on May/31 is actually quite illuminating.
What also came out of this discussion, and should set the record straight Kim states that it was Cobra that brought her to the case. There was some discussion about this point, but listening to the recording it is pretty clear who was telling the truth.

Simon, hate to burst your “Aha!” moment, but maybe, as a journalist, you should get the supporting documents prior to printing an article like this, and making a but another knee jerk judgment call about whether someone was lying in a given interview. I believe the FL Bar has the sworn documententary evidence which is public record as to when things were discovered by the lawyer in question. Have you inquired about when the lawyer knew about drug use by the client, Simon? Or did you just assume and print that the evil lawyer had flatly lied to the public in the interview?
If drug use was confirmed not to have been known at the time of the interview you cite, your story takes a nose dive, and once again defame the lawyer you so love to hate. I believe, Simon, you need to study up before you fall flat.
Or, perhaps you should ask your hero Cobra, before you once again attack a person that has been cleared of the very wrongdoings you have previously published in articles for all to see. Get your facts straight before you print, Simon. Paid bloggers? Dirty Pool? Turned out not to be true after all, huh? Yet the stories remain on this site, and your readers have been tainted by months of false claims and innuendo.
Maybe a 180 degree turn is in order for you, Simon. Maybe you were wrong all along. Hmmm? Is a retraction in order, Simon, or at least an acknowledgement that you may not have had all the correct facts when you wrote and publicated story after story? To be fair. Kim would be protecting her client. That is her job. Now she is able to discuss within her limits of what law will allow. Try not to over think this too much. Ha, I think that is funny coming from me. Anyhoo, just remember this, Cobra did say that search was fake then said it was not. We were told on your show sometimes it at the time the facts to be there, what you know etc. Don’t be too hard on someone for doing what their job was in the first place. I was merely repeating what was said on air. And I think that if you take the time out to listen to the recording, you will notice a number of problems.
The clean drug tests? Was that factual? The non reliance on prescription drugs “she threw them out before they were all taken”.
Although the language used in the comments about when Chrystal was 19 were well thought out, and phrased well, one is left with the assumption that you had an idea that drugs were part of her diet.
I am a big fan of Shakespeare, and this looks like a “Thou doest protest too much” moment.
Quite honestly I have no beef with you, I opted not to take you up on the offer to call you today that I received through a third party. This is a stand alone story. A story based on the facts that I knew at the time, and what is being said now.
At no point prior to the letter released today have I heard you talk about Crystal’s drug use. Did I miss something?

I’ve only commented once on a different story here but I feel that I need to make a comment on this.
Whether or not Simon is right or Kim is right, the point remains, Haleigh is still missing and none of this attitude being thrown to and fro is very productive in finding this precious little girl. Maybe now that Kim isn’t protected by attorney/client privilege laws, it’s time to quit attacking one another and put your heads together to find this little girl.

I have a few questions, if I may ask sincerely.
I appreciate any and all truth. Don’t know how it effects Haleigh’s case, now or later, but information is power and helps us the reader and sleuther be able to piece together the players mindset, behaviors and activities before and after the disappearance.
Kim and Simon, I don’t really see where you two are that far apart in conversation and thoughts. As Simon replied back to Kim’s request, he wasn’t so much accusing but merely pointing out something from an older tape that popped into his mind that he saw needing more clarification. As I can see Kim making the earlier statement with the knowledge she had at the time, then her knowledge presently. Things change over time, so it may not be deception period. Nor accusations.
My questions: Has the Haleighbug foundation collected monies, and has the monies been spent on productive things in the hunt for Haleigh?
I believe LE has made some mistakes in the investigation of Haleigh, and would like to hear some input from Kim, as she had some connections with them involving the case, and any information would be helpful in putting facts together in my mind.
I appreciate Simons site, would like for the internet interference from strangers not involved in the case, to keep an appropriate distance from the players, unless they have important information that should be reported to LE. All the innuendos, rumors, bashing, egos, and cloudy focus has really not done goodness for Haleigh.
I would like to see everyone band together and be a help to the case. Until we have facts, we shouldn’t be disparaging the families. But I welcome all truth, good or bad, but that can even be expressed in a professional way as to not come across vindictive and slanderous.
What is Kim’s theories on what might have happened to Haleigh? As a caring person, I would like to see good investigating and everyone being on the up and up, not out for their own agendas. Appreciate any responses.
I have always said and felt they cleared Crystal and her side way too quickly. So now that the cat is out of the bag. Who’s to say one of Crystal’s dealers didn’t take Haleigh for randsom, like so many have said about Ron??? Seems to me, both sides are a little dirty, don’t ya think? I too agree about LE’s investigaton and the clearing of all those they have done. The a/c man is one on the top of my list. No way, unless he was at LE’s station, on video tape from ten p.m. til three a.m. should he have been cleared so fast. He was inside the home, very easily could have left a door unlocked.
Statistically, his presence in the home and into the lives of this family, and wham!~ Haleigh goes missing? Too coincidental? Just looking over past crimes, abductions, and he should be a number one suspect. If he’s not on video tape the entire time somewhere that’s he can be watched for those hours, or clocked in at a job, and that’s not guaranteed, he’s not cleared. LE being so hush hush about even his name, any information just doesn’t fit.
LE in my opinion, got stuck and glued on Misty, and that’s been their downfall ever since. They never looked anywhere else other than just asking all the others, were you there? Did you take Haleigh? To me, that was their investigation in a nutshell towards all the others.
Then we still have the chance of a stranger abduction, which is statistically a high possibility. Then we have brother Tommy aka Hank jr., now confessing to placing himself right at the crime scene in the critical time line. Ugh!
LE should be doing some type of pressors occassionally, as the public will stand and take notice, they themselves have let Haleigh’s name go un-mentioned, her smiling face could have been put out there more often on their behalves, yet they don’t. They have the resources, and should be doing it. The public listens to LE’s pleas, and the reward money isn’t being pushed like it needs to be. Money makes people talk.
The family needs to hire a total of four private investigators, set each one at the crime scene, and have them go out in all four different directions, north, south east and west. They are able to search and interview by different guidelines than what LE has to uphold.

You know what bothers me is if Haleigh is found alive she will be returned to these people.It scares the hell out of me.I still to this day don’t understand why Ronald Jr has not been removed.The child has know real home,the father isn’t providing a home.They live with Ronald’s Grandmother.He does not work,living on that child support and hand outs.Looks to me like the state would place the child in a home.Everyone runs Crystal down yet does she live with anyone other than the man she is to marry or does she have a home of her own.I understand she has another child and was also expecting one too.If she can care for those children and the state has not been involved would it be wrong if she has taken care of her past drug problems and is doing well now,why would it be so bad if Jr went to be with her in a real home setting.I don’t know,just kind of thinking out loud.Ron can’t take care of that little boy with all the shows he does,he still has a drug problem,lives off child support and food stamps.He has it way to easy.I just hope if Haleigh comes home she has a home,and a proper parent to care for her and she gets the love she needs.Goodnight Praying for the lost and hoping for them to be found.

Also, the fact that no one has came forward even with the reward money speaks very loudly. Okay, at first I thought druggies won’t come forward even with a reward. But come to think of it, Due to their knowledge and the lead to the arrest of the person who took Haleigh, they would get their drug history basically wiped and still get the reward money. Especially at this stage of the case.
So I’m thinking, it’s not any of the druggie buddies. I’m thinking it’s not the family, because they drink and do drugs, and when doing so, that’s when it seems people are so open and honest. When they are on the drugs and drunk.

treece, they weren’t cleared really because they were never looked at to begin with. Crystal took a LDT days after Ron and Misty took their’s. They never gave Sarah, Marie, Johnny, Connie,a LDT at all and Chad took one after the Baker county search. Wasn’t that in June and after the drugs were found on the property? LE didn’t check out the Baker county property till a couple of days after she was missing and that was just a cursory inspection and a quick chat with Chad. Johnny’s place wasn’t searched either.
Check IP’s? Is it a crime to use a particular hat now?
I think people following this case have all gone insane. Sorry to invade your forum, it won’t happen again.

Paws and Vaquera, spot on Darlings. I have watched come to mind about the stranger repairmen who came back later into the homes to committ crimes. Everyone the resident was murdered and or abducted then murdered.
As V said, they really weren’t cleared, heck, they were never investigated. Things don’t add up on one side, but then watching LE’s behavior, or should I say non behavior further validates the theories this case is sadly looking like a “cold” mess. Has anyone heard whether or not LE actually took samples of the blood spatters from the shed to a forensic lab? Last I heard on this blog, they just looked at the splatters and said they were consistent with the butchering of game.
What difference does it make if anyone in that group takes a lie dector test? Misty flunked hers apparently and she’s still sleezing around the country.

I am going to stick my neck out here and say this, if Kim signed a confidentially agreement with Crystal and or Marie, she just violated it all to hell with the phone interview that she did with TJ Hart and she should be sued to hell and back for that one. Just because Crystal or Marie is no longer her client, just because she doesn’t represent them any longer doesn’t necessarily legally release her from the confidentially agreement that she had with them to start with.
Simon there is a question for you to ask Danny about on Sunday’s show. I am sure that he can tell you all about confidentially clauses and unwritten verbal confidentially agreements between client and lawyers.

There is a hugh difference in an ethics violation which is what the complaint to the state bar would have been about, and violation of a legally binding contract which is what the confidentially agreement would have been.
The state bar handles ethics violations and the courts handle the contract problems.

I remember a certain poster on WS making a statement which went something like — It is not illegal to lie to the media or the public, only to LE. That is when you have to tell the truth.
I always kept those words in my mind because to me it spoke volumes. It was up to the public and media to choose to believe what KP was saying about Crystal or not. It was up to the public and the media to do their own research and see if what was being said was truth or fiction.
Those that researched this case knew from the start that Crystal and Marie both lied when they said that Ron deliberately sent the court docs to the wrong address. We knew that because we read the court docs where it clearly states that Crystal was served and responded. So if they would lie about that just to garnish public sympathy it was not far fetched to believe they would lie about anything they chose to lie about.
While I hate what KP did, I do understand the why behind it. I just find it sad that people were destroyed in an effort to make another person look better to the public. What was the purpose of Crystal needing to look better? Was it to find HaLeigh OR to bring in more donations?
I haven’t posted in awhile,this year is almost over and it will be a year soon since Haleigh’s has been gone. What is her father Ron doing these days? It will be a very sad holidays without Haleigh. How about Misty where is she these days? This story just fustrates me and I just loose track of it now. My prayers are with Haleigh and hope there will be closure in this story someday.

I do hope you are able to go ahead with your CIVIL CASE. I guarantee you MANY will step forward with their emails, Forum Administrators also have the information where she joined the forums and her user name.

Vaquera, I remember the interview that crystal was giving when she was ask about taking the LDT, and her response to “Did You Pass It”, was, “I don’t know, they said they had to send it to Washington”. That answer still lingers and doesn’t go over well. Our Dept in NM, was not too much larger than PCSO is Now.. Were talking late 70’s early 80’s.. We had our own
polygraph examiner, one of our Detectives who was trained and could analysis the data. Here Putnam County has to bring someone in from the outside to do the LDT’s. Now, If there were some strange conclusions and it was the FBI that gave Crystal an LDT, they might have had to send it off.. But, I would really worry if that occurred. Now.. the icing on the cake to really throw things into the wind.. I was alerted that Crystal never took a Polygraph, that she signed the waiver, but was never tested. Several little things have come out recently, and my mind reflects back to conversations on the Radio shows from yesterMonths, of a two way faction in PCSO. The Sheriff side, and the other side.. And this two way faction had caused great difficulties in solving this case.
After gathering info the last few weeks.. Hey, that’s right on the money. There is a void between the two.. But, who is who? Would I believe at this moment that Crystal was never given a LDT.. You bet I would, but they have a sheet of paper that says’ all clear…

Let me tell you both something DKERR is well informed with this precious child. She has been since day one when the child was reported missing. She prays for this little girl every single day. Secondly Ron had a job he left it he could have asked his employer for time off while he tried to find his daughter key word tried( which i highly doubt he did) he didnt get fired he didnt show up or call for work. He choose to leave his mobile home his darn self which is fishy to me. Every time I have seen him on the nancy show or on tv he looks high as he can get so dont tell me crap. I have noticed in other posted that others have posted the same darn thing. He is no damn father of the year either. Ron left his children in a care of someone he shouldnt have who just came home after being on drugs to me that is not responsibile. He then picks a fight with his in laws to me another charges and he spent the night in jail does any of this ring a bell it was posted on here as well. Then he goes marry this girl Misty, right away not wait till his daughter comes home. You just dont make big decisions like that after a child is missing to me that makes them both looks who at fault. He slept with a 17 yr old girl, what scared of being charge of rape well maybe he should have. He then puts a dead rat in his in laws mail box a headless rat. Cause maybe they were going to come forward to what happen to Haleigh but was threatening by Ronald.Having these children around drugs isnt good at all, and telling the truth is good either. I still have my own opinion just like everyone else does and we are in title for it.
Has I recall someone in the past posted that crystal was expecting I dont know if she is or not thats not mine or your business at all. You dont know if she is paying child support and I hope she is. Someone also posted that Ron gave the courts the wrong address to where Crystal was thats how he got custody of the children. Someone posted that. I remember reading it on here.
Ron Jr belongs in a home where he can feel safe at. No drugs, Crystal may have stopped drugs how do you no she didnt. Crystal doesnt make an butt out of herself on or a scene. Every time Le comes out with something it seems a day or two before hand Ron and Misty makes a scene for attendation when this isnt about them but a precious little girl who should be home with people who cares and loves her.

I am utterly ill that two of the major FRINGE players who inserted themselves in the investigation early on are now telling us different stories than they told then - granted with different excuses.
I am really afraid that some of what they did and said back then (and since) screwed up the investigation and/or allowed PCSO to intentionally or unintentionally do a bad job of investigating.
Personally I am not interested in anything more that KP or Cobra or LE has to say (about the past or about the present) - not that LE is saying anything anyway. m2c — Anything is possible and can not be ruled out in this case, that is for sure. So yes I agree it could have been to deflect the investigation away from a particular side of the family.
BUT it was LE’s duty, their responsibility to HaLeigh to not allow that to happen. EVERYBODY should have been investigated from the start.
While I am in no means a supporter of KP, and the fact that she lied to the public about Crystal, some of whom gave generous donations to Crystal, appalls me. I understand she did it for her client BUT she was not hired, she volunteered to represent Crystal, so I do hold her responsible to a large degree of what went on. I do not believe that KP would have taken the case without reading the court docs to begin with, Hell that was one of the first things most researchers did, so I believe that she did go into the case with her eyes open, and a plan in place.
While I do believe that there were many that created the circus atmosphere that took away from the search for HaLeigh, I put the blame where it belongs, on HaLeigh’s mother.
As HaLeigh’s mother it was her responsibility to keep “finding HaLeigh” as the main focus. She chose not to. Crystal and Marie started the BS before any of the circus players came into play. So I do blame them for what has happened in this case, regardless if they are directly involved or not.
I think it is way past time for Hardy to man up and turn this case over to the FBI. HaLeigh deserves to be found. It is her right to be found. If PCSO can’t get the job done then it is time to bring in somebody that can do the job.
Pinkey - I have not believed from the start that LE has done a competent job. And I have listened to what they have said. I’m not impressed.
I think they started screwing up that very night. I hope to heaven that I am wrong. But LE can’t blame me for my opinion of them given what info we have about what they have and have not done.

gatorgirl - The same kind of long list of faults and complaints and suspicions can be made about Crystal. As PAW said, poor Haleigh had TWO lousy parents (IMO). But those who have it in for RC don’t seem to want to see ANY flaw in Crystal.
That is simply not realistic. Both Ron and Crystal are human beings with good qualities AND bad. Both made some bad decisions before Haleigh went missing and after. Saying a negative thing about Ron does not imply that a person is entirely FOR Crystal and vice versa.
If we do not look at things - and people - the way they really are, there is little hope of finding Haleigh.
Ron had a job it was his choice not to go in or call simple of fact he had his job but he didnt do any one so he quit he didnt get fired he just didnt show up.
I know they both are human beings and made alot of mistakes which something they cant change but can do something about it by cleaning up their acts. I hope Crystal is getting off the drugs and geting her life straight.

gatorgirl: I agree with everything except finding fault with Ron not returning to his job. Personally I think he should have and it would probably have done him good. But I’m not in his shoes. Maybe he wanted to stay home and protect his son and help look for his daughter (even if not out on searches. I’m sure he had hours and hours of interviews with LE). Who knows?

gatorgirl. I don’t think anyone has stated he got fired. Yes he made some bad decisions. And like you said about Crystal hoping she is cleaning her life up. I hope that too, On the same note, I hope Ron is doing the same thing. These kids need BOTH their parents, not just one. They BOTH need to be cleaning up their lives, Not for them, BUT for THEIR kids. It’s a 2 way street. They both made these kids and they both are responsible in making sure they are safe and raised right to the best of their abilities. I’m not going to deny any parent of their love for their child/children. A parent can love their child and still not have their heads on straight. Intervention needs to be made here. I know there are programs out there that help with parents who need to better their lives for their children’s sake. I have to wonder if this has happened with Ron and Crystal. They are young, they both have been making bad decisions up to this current point. They need new direction. In most cases that’s when intervention comes in to teach them how to do that.
To my knowledge, it’s been confirmed that Crystal got the court docs and responded. My question is this. Why didn’t family or friends help her get to the court hearings? Yes, it’s Crystal’s responsibility to get there. But why didn’t her mother help her get there? Why didn’t anyone help her get there if they all knew she didn’t have transportation? Some people would say that they would walk to make sure they got there. I would too. But seriously, if she lived 2 hours away, walking would be insane. All these families need some intervention.
Oh come on now, she’s an adult, if she had wanted to go to court she would have.

And Mistys character is really bad too. All some bloggers see is a 16/17 year old but I see a street wise very smart to the way things work in the drug and criminal world. Paw — When Crystal was served with the docs that Ron had filed for custody, she was living in Jax with a couple of guys and her cousin. Crystal responded to the motion but never went to the hearing. Maybe Crystal was to “busy” with her life to go to the first hearing.
As hard as it may be for some to understand maybe Crystal was fine with the children living with Ron and at that time in her life she did not want to have custody of the children.

PAW69, I agree families should help especially when they were so young. Even with Crystal messing up and missing court she was given a 2nd chance and the judge gave them to Ronald. It could have been biased or it could have truly been the best for the kids. BUT if Crystal wanted that to change & believed her kids were in danger it looks like she would have tried to keep her cs paid so she could later maybe get them back. Not paying anything she could have lost even her visitation. I don’t fault her for being behind on cs but to have never ever paid a dime says to me she wasn’t very concerned. Haleigh and Ron Jr weren’t a priority to her. Also, on Rons defense he was young too when he took custody of an infant and a toddler. It is hard to raise kids, especially when they were that age. He had bottles, diapers, potty training, and he wanted them. I do not doubt that he loved them and to a degree tried to take care of them. Also, all of the many pictures that have come out of Haleigh she is clean and dressed nice and her hair is fixed in everyone of them. No matter what Ron’s faults were, his kids were a priority to him.

The thing that I love about the pics we have seen, besides showing how happy HaLeigh is, with that ear to ear smile, and a face that lights up, is the pics always show Ron doing things with the children, in the park, fishing, teaching HaLeigh to ride her trike, getting his toenails painted, giving HaLeigh her breathing treatments.
Ron is involved with his children. He doesnt just send them outside to play or sits them in front of TV.
OH, I think most of the credit should go to Teresa. I believe her when she calls Haliegh her sweet little girl, I think she had a very close bond with her and helped Ronald with most of her upbringing… I also believe she iss the driving force in finding her.If you notice she has made the choice to be at all the television interviews…

treece, yes, the pictures show very well kept kids. At the same time though, I have to wonder on the priority, only because he had at one point drugs in the home and/or in the vehicle which the kids rode in. I know they love their kids. But why be involved in drugs when you are trying to raise a family? That goes for all of them, not just Ron.
I think Teresa is the only one I really believe in all this and I hope she gets Haliegh back some day. I think she is the one behind the camera in all the pictures that you are seeing of Ronald and the kids…

tobias, I agree Teresa has been a huge support and good for her. He son became a father very young and I am glad she has been so involved. I am glad Ron lives with the grandma, I think that is much better for Jr to have them both there. Jr has to have suffered from the loss of his sister being in his life everyday. Plus all the stress in everyone effects him too. As long as he is being taken care of I don’t think he should be moved to foster care. As PAW69 said, some foster homes are horrible but even if he were placed in a loving one he would still suffer more loss from missing his dad & grandma. Out of All 3 of them, Ron Crystal and Misty, putting all 3 side by side, I would have to say, Ron had been trying to make a difference. It takes a lot for a mother to lose her kids. It almost takes for the mother to shoot up in front of the judge to lose her kids.
I can’t seem to find Ron’s record. But if I ever find it, I would like to see the last time he went to court that had something to do with drugs.

PAW69, I totally agree with you drugs & kids don’t go together. The reality is when parents bring drugs around kids they are putting their desire for the buzz above the well being of their kids and they are leaving the kiddos vulnerable every time.
However having niece’s that are druggies I see how easy it is to be deceived. They absolutely love their kids but do the stupidest stuff around them. Until they are locked up or the kids are taken they don’t even admit the risk to themselves. I am not justifying them I have just seen mom’s that love their kids lose them and hate themselves for doing so. I am for families intervening. I have done so myself.
Teresa is probably the backbone of it all. I pray and hope she is also working with Ron getting off drugs and on a new path for the sake of his kids. She can only do so much. I hope someone is helping her too in all of this. Because 1 day, if she hasn’t broke down yet, she will. And I hope Ron can give back to her, what she’s given to him and his kids.
Paw69, I feel the same way Marie should have had Crystal in court. I also feel the week end Misty went off on her 3 day drug/sex binge right before Haleigh is missing should have been a clue that she is not responsible enough to be keeping the kids that Monday. I so wish some adult would have intervened and kept the kids that week. I am sure many wish they had, too. It was just an honest mistake on their part BUT hopefully other’s hearing Haleigh’s story will take more caution with their own.
Paw — Ron was arrested in September of 2005 for drugs and for VIOLATION OF ORDER OF PROTECTION in Sarasota FL. All charges were dropped.
If you think about it and research it you will realize that Ron was not alone in the car at the time. The violation of the order of protection will give you a “clue” as to who was with him at the time.
Story is drugs were found in a purse that had no identification in it. Since it was Ron’s car he was charged. All drug charges were dropped since they could not prove who owned the drugs, a he said - she said situation.
The violation of order of protection was dropped because Ron had not been served with it yet.
PAW69 I hope so too. Watching her is painful for me and I worry that this is taking a real toll on her. That is why I believe that her emotions are true and I wish it is going to end with a live Haliegh for her sake alone…

All I know is that it is assumed that he abuses Prescription drugs because of the Hank Croslin SR. write up. He claimed ron gave him a white pill that nearly killed him then later retracted the comment.
I think Ron was clean while he was working for the bridge company because of the random drug testing. Which is hair follicle test because of the heavy machine job he did on the crane. My hubby has the same requirements at his job this is the Insurance company policys not the bridge company.
Well if he took a pill from Ron, then that’s on him. That’s his stupid fault.
If it’s just prescription drugs we’re talking about, that is totally different than illegal drugs.
Ron would be at fault for giving them out or selling them and the people who bought them or took them are just as much at fault as Ron is.
That is also easier to get someone away from doing, than it is illegal drugs.
tobias, then with that being said on your last post, I would have to say Ron is probably not as bad as he’s being made out to be. Yes he has made stupid decisions as far as g/f’s go and baby sitters. And even the prescription drug ordeal.
But all in all, before Haleigh went missing he was working, he was taking care of the kids, and he did have a home for them. I don’t see how moving in with grandma is such a bad thing. If anything I see it as one of the best decisions he could have made. And maybe he has personal issues as to why he didn’t go back to work. Psychological reasons. It is possible that due to his daughter missing, he snapped and broke down hard and it has caused him to make the decision not to go back to work until his mind is on the right track. no one knows if he’s seeing a psychologist or not. And maybe the psychologist has advised him not to go to work at this time. He should have told his employer this. Why he didn’t, no one knows. Or maybe he did, but media is saying he didn’t. Who knows.
I agree with you like I said I believe as long as he was under the job restrictions he wuold have been monitered for drugs of any kind. Insurance companies are really strict with these policies especially heavy equiptment ,hazmat, andthe bridge company he worked for is a real big company. I researched pdm bridge awhile back and they are huge.
I dont tnink anyone would hire him now with all the publicity. Maybe if he left Florida and went to another PDM in another State, at least a possiblity after they find haliegh.

Good day, good questions inside the posts. For me, I want to keep an open mind, full of mercy for the players, especially the parents til we know who is involved. Some will feel real bad if we find out it was the a/c man, or stranger abduction.
I have mainly 3 theories of suspects, and one is a strong belief that this home was being watched, leading up to the abduction. The target being Misty or Haleigh, and Haleigh being the opportunity once the crime started.
I don’t want to be mean to posters and run them off. I’ve seen it down across the net, and it harms Haleighs case. If we have the players participating, like Kim, though we don’t have to believe a thing she or anyone says, we can still communicate and hopefully glean some information to soothe our inquiring minds. Aid us in building our theories, which is about all we have at the moment to work with, til a break or news from LE. Or a squeaky wheel starts turning.
Flash that reward money LE, get on tv and say Haleighs name, over and over. Work psychologically on the minds of those who know something. Tis the season for kindness and miracles, I’m believing in something good to come for Haleigh and her family.
And while all of this plays out, who is looking for HaLeigh? I do not understand what any of this has to do with a child missing.
I can not see where any of this has helped find this little girl who is missing. Why are the issues between an attorney, a client, and bloggers even important at this point? When the dust settles, will HaLeigh be home?
It isn’t hard to figure out that every one of the players have issues. I get that. I even get that these issues may have led to the point of this child disappearing. But the bickering back and forth, and the threat of lawsuits, is not bringing this child home.
Why can this child not be important enough to all involved, to set aside their differences and work together to find this child, instead of constantly just ripping each other apart? If you can’t work together, then please just quietly step aside. None of your issues are even remotely as important as HaLeigh’s right now.

LE asked for the publics help. Yet they won’t tell anyone anything. Our hands are tied. He have no rights to go knock down doors and question people who we feel may be involved. We can’t even trust the media.

I hate it. I try not to let it bother me, but at some point you just have to stop getting kicked, and do something about it. I am very dangerous to Bill, because I can reveal the truth of a lot of things about him, what he’s done, etc. Only now did I swing my head at point my sites on him. He caved.
I’m also trying to scuttle the hoopla being reported about Jeremiah. Poor kid. He’s been through the ringer. I’ve been on the phone with his Dad all morning. I also just got off the phone with Capt Piscitello, so it should be put to rest in a day or two. Probably one of Write Into Action’s moles making yet another false allegation about one of us. I’m on it, and will be providing info to PCSO so that the allegations are properly put in the junk file where they belong. Feel free to give anyone on the internet my sentiments about the Jeremiah investigation. And yes, I am proud to say that I will be providing PCSO information to refute any false allegations about him. Not because of some fantasy love affair we apparently are having from a thousand miles away, but because he is a good kid.
As you know, I opened up a twitter account to talk to my friends and family. Including my 12 year old son. Thought it would be fun. Within an hour, my email was filled with notifications of people following me from the Haleigh case. I locked it down, but continued to get requests to be followed. I felt bad about declining people’s invitations, and some those people might be pissed if I declined them. So I didn’t know what to do. My buddy helped me set it up, and his name is Jeremiah immediately, everyone thought it was Jeremiah Regan. Poor guy he’s a black guy that I know from law school, and he was freaking out when everyone was sending him requests to be followed. He wrote me the funniest email to the effect of I haven’t gotten this much action from a bunch of white women in all my life! LOL! Anyway, it got so outta hand that I just deleted my Twitter and so did he. It was ridiculous. How do you decline an invitation from The Miami Herald editor? Ya know?! Anyway, I shut it down, and my son is now creating a facebook page for me under a fake name he’s so excited! He’s 12 years old.

BTW, If Ron,Crystal, and Misty, could get cleaned up and on the right path. They would have more common sense to be able to focus on this and work together. If drugs are involved, that’s not going to happen. Drugs mess with the brain so bad, they don’t even realize they are messing this up for Haleigh.

You know that drug dealer that wanted to be an informant in the begining might have had the right idea. This is a small town and if you arent a local you are gonna be suspect now and no one will talk to them. Maybe they should get one of their own to start informing for them.

Maybe if the LE offered the informant relocation someone would go for it. My cousin witnessed a gang murder when he was in his teens and got that deal. He is still in witness protection in another state and thats been 15 years.

Treece, you caught me just before turning in for the night. I honestly don’t know that much about the issues between KP and Cobra other than what I’ve read. What’s ironic is the e-mail to me that was posted here earlier was her response to an e-mail I sent her expressing my surprise at the “back in the saddle” post that you referred above.
In all honesty, I’m not too concerned about their battles. She’s a big girl and he’s a big boy. They apparently have worked out their differences on their own. It was as big a shock to me as anyone to see the post from her to him about working together again. We all know they have a history between them. Bear in mind that the e-mail to me was the same date of her post here at BNN, I believe.
No words I can post are going to change any one’s opinion of her or anyone else for that matter. I see her involvement in this case as being an effort to bolster the image of her client. For purposes of this rule, “generally known” shall mean information of the type that a reasonably prudent lawyer would obtain from public records or through authorized processes for discovery of evidence.

Rule 4-1.16 Declining or Terminating Representation
(d) Protection of Client’s Interest.
Upon termination of representation, a lawyer shall take steps to the extent reasonably practicable to protect a client’s interest, such as giving reasonable notice to the client, allowing time for employment of other counsel, surrendering papers and property to which the client is entitled, and refunding any advance payment of fee that has not been earned. The lawyer may retain papers and other property relating to or belonging to the client to the extent permitted by law.
One other point that I would bring up, well two points actually, is if Crystal or Marie either one received a bill for the services of KP then she can, by her own admission, be charged with Mail Fraud, which is a Federal Charge. Tom Cruise did a movie titled “The Firm” that was based on a Grisham book by the same name that goes into detail how that one works.
Secondly, I am still looking for the laws or procedures that state that any complaint with the bar is a matter of public record, because if it isn’t, and I do suspect that to be the case, KP again hung herself with her phone interview with TJ Hart.

A WORD ABOUT CONFIDENTIALITY AND IMMUNITY
The rules of the Supreme Court of Florida require the Bar (staff, investigators, and grievance committee members) to treat inquiries and complaints pending with Bar counsel and grievance committees as confidential matters. You, the lawyer who is subject of the inquiry or complaint, witnesses and other third parties are not required to treat those inquiries and complaints as confidential matters.
However, disclosure of the existence of an inquiry or complaint and the contents thereof outside of the disciplinary system may provide a basis for legal action. If however, you limit your inquiry and communication about it to Bar staff, investigators and grievance committee members; you should not be successfully sued.
While, generally, you cannot be successfully sued if you do not act in bad faith or with malice, we emphasize successfully. The Bar cannot guarantee that the lawyer will not attempt to bring legal action against you.
There are things you can do to minimize the chance that you will be sued. You should not threaten the lawyer with a disciplinary inquiry or complaint, civil action, or criminal prosecution.
If you believe any such action should be undertaken you should seek advice of another lawyer, before you write a demand letter.
While you have the right to talk to anyone you want about your Bar inquiry/complaint, you should consider not talking to anyone other than Bar staff, investigators, and grievance committee members, or your new lawyer, until the case is closed or until the matter is decided by a grievance committee and further proceedings are undertaken.
At that point, the matter becomes public information and a part of the file defined as the public record that is available to anyone who wishes to see it.
We understand that if you make an inquiry about a lawyer’s conduct you feel strongly about the situation in question. Our responsibility is to undertake an appropriate investigation and develop pertinent facts and evidence.
By treating all persons involved in the process in a calm, objective and professional fashion, you assist us in resolving the matter more quickly.

Believe it or not, these types of behaviors from the players, like many have said all along, has created nothing but drama, gossip, innuendo and derailment of the focus pertaining to Haleighs disappearance.
I am very disappointed, and those reading these words will know who I am addressing, even those that don’t know me, you’ll know in your soul.
True crime sleuthers, followers, who care about these missing people, look to the net for information, not the mis-deeds of those involved, getting involved causing everything to be un-trustworthy. Posters have been attacked un-mercifully, and the actions of those have caused it.
Simon and Jan, keep pushing and looking with integrity, keeping everything out in the open, question what needs questioning without attacking as I’ve seen so far at this site. Keep the boards and articles open for real discussion and communication.

This is the risk that all client’s face in filing a Bar Grievance. The lawyer is able to spill it, to defend themselves. If the client loses, the cat is out of the bag. I called the Bar on Friday to ask for a copy of the file, too. I asked if the lawyer was allowed to speak about the matters involved in the Bar Grievance. They chuckled, and said, yes. Unless the file is sealed, which this one was not.

I am thankful that God put these people in others lives a gift to keep missing children names out there when you dont hear about these children sadly some arent found alive and some are. Thankfully these people keeping Haleigh name out there so maybe someone will come forward with some information that is helpful in finding this precious child and all the other missing children. What offends me is the nonsense on this blog. I see no value in wasting public effort sitting behind a computer and pontificating who did what to who when, and therefore who should be a suspect. THERE IS NO EVIDENCE showing anyone talked about on this blog had anything to do with Haleigh’s disappearence. I suggest the public put the time and energy into continuing to physically search for Haleigh, as I am doing. I hope to God no body is found, but it is a strong possibility.
I agree with the blogger that said she was not picking sides and I feel about the same. But I do have to say that it seems that most of the comments that are made about Ron having custody of the children are female bloggers and maybe they feel that men should not have custody of the children. I am one of those grandmother’s that have been involved in my grandchild’s life more than most grandparents normally because his father is a single dad and yes the courts gave him custody of his then 8 month old son. Grandma has made quiet a few decisions in this child’s life. He is and always will be a good MAD (mom and dad) but there have been a lot of times he was not quit sure what to do. I can relate to Haleigh’s grandmother, she was helping raise that child and there is nothing wrong with grandmother advice. I am proud to say that so far my son has raised successfully an 8 year old that has repeatedly been an honor roll student. As far as taking JR away, I myself have been in those shoes as a child because “it was what was best for me” and as an adult I can tell you it was not. Put yourself in JR’s shoes, he does not know that his father would never be voted father of the year, but I am sure he loves him, and think about how many nights would this child cry his self to sleep missing the only father and family that he has ever known. Protect JR, yes, take him out of his home and away from his family, no. We always do not make good choices in the best of families but why make JR suffer anymore than he already has suffered.
Why was KP telling people her client was drug free, when she sooooo obviously wasn’t? She seems to be implying she didn’t find out Crystal was doing drugs/was an addict until after she told everyone Crystal was clean. Anyone who saw Crystal on tv knew she was using something, so I can’t see how Kim didn’t notice.

Crack is whack! Sadly, it seems Crystal & Tommy Croslin are 2 peas in a pod and I hope they never get together. It seems based on what Kim said, and the lack of production of the blood test results, that Crystal was driving with Chloe in the car under the influence of a drug when she had the seizure.
Crack makes people do stupid things, even sell children to get money….I sure hope LE have looked closely at Crystal, Chad and their drug connections and I hope DCF is keeping a close eye on them. I hope LE informed DCF that they found crack at the house and that LE are making sure that Chloe, Jr. and Chad’s 2 children are safe.

gatorgirl, Shaniya Davis is her name. She is such a precious little angel. It is tragic, absolutely shocking, that her mother would do this. Selling or trading her into prostitution is just unbelievable. It is a sad sick world out there. When I was a kid this was just unheard of. I am praying she is alive someplace.
How a tiny child can be a turn-on is as sick as the mother selling her. An animal would never do this to their young.
