Once again another child has come up missing. Little 5-year old Shaniya Nicole Davis from Fayetteville North Carolina was last seen from her home Tuesday morning and an Amber Alert has been issued for her.

Shaniya’s mother reported to the police who arrived at the Sleepy Hollow Drive home around 6:50 that morning that it was about 5:30 that morning when she last saw her daughter. According to the mother her own boyfriend and her sister with an infant and Shaniya’s 7 year old was at home at the time of her disappearance.

Fayetteville’s Police spokeswoman Theresa Chance said, “There is definitely something not right about the situation. Foul play is expected.” Although it isn’t quite clear exactly how Shaniya could have left the house, Chance went on to say, “The circumstances surrounding her disappearances are very odd. A 5 year old usually is not awake at 5:30 am normally and they just wouldn’t leave their home. If she would have wandered out of her home she would be around here somewhere.”

It was discovered that Shaniya’s family has had major issues with the Department of Social Services and they only have custody switching back and forth. It is not clear if the child’s disappearance has anything to do with this or not. The father, who lives out of state, flew into town Tuesday night to talk to the police.

Chance says they are treating this case as a child in danger with the information they have now.

Police have had problems concerning this house before. After obtaining a search warrant a variety of drugs were found inside before.

Police did a search in the home and used the K-9 dogs along with firefighters and the sheriff deputies all day Tuesday. Chance stated that they are hoping to find the little girl alive but at this point they just don’t know.. She says the search dogs didn’t pick up her scent which normally if she had been wandering outside the home they would have.

Shaniya is described as a black female, about 3 ft. tall, and weighs 40 lbs. She has brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a blue t-shirt and no shoes. She also has a thin scar on her left foot.

I would like to know more about this case especially about how her mother saw her at 5:30 in the morning yet a little more than an hour and a half later the police is there responding to a missing child call. This really confuses me. My prayers are with this little girl. Shaniya Nicole Davis could be in danger here but I pray I am wrong. I hope they can find her soon.
