An 8 year old little girl from Missouri has been reported missing according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol. Rebecca Marie Allen was last seen at her home in Washburn around 10:30 am on Saturday. Authorities think she may be with her biological mother, Teresa Lynn Allen, 39 who also uses the name Teresa L. Gantt. The last time Rebecca was seen she was with her mother.
Rebecca has been described as weighing about 48 lbs. and she has blond hair and brown eyes. The mother, is about 5ft. 3 in. and she weighs about 160 lbs. and she has blond hair and brown eyes as well.
Rebecca’s father has sole custody of Rebecca apparently because the mother is mentally unstable and is capable of harming her daughter.
“She has threatened to kill the child before turning her over to the Division of Family Services,†said a spokeswoman with the highway patrol, Barbara Graham.
I don’t understand why this child was left alone with her mother if she would be in danger around her to begin with unless the courts ordered the mother visitation rights. Even then in this case if it is true about the mother threatening to kill the child before she should have never been left alone with her at all. So many questions here but no other details were available that I have been able to find. I just pray she is found safe.

Please continue praying for all the children that we have been reading about lately. My list keeps getting longer but I refuse to leave them out. Their names need to continue being remembered until somehow they can get justice that they deserve. We have, Caylee Anthony, Adji Desir, Haleigh Cummings, Somer Thompson, Elizabeth Olten, Masaraha Ross, Shannon Dedrick and Alex Mercado. There are so many more but this is the list I personally have been reporting about lately. How many more children will have their lives taken before something is done to stop this? I am the uncle of Rebecca and the younger brother of Teresa. I live in Florida, but I am in SW Missouri now due to this emergency. Rebecca was assigned custody recently to her father (Teresa’s ex-husband). This is a huge mistake. I just tonight finished reading transcripts from two different mental health counselor trained to work with child abuse victims. There is detailed repeated sexual abuse ongoing for four years from the child’s father during weekend visitations at his home. Once even Rebecca commented that her father’s mother (Grandma) found it happening and called the police. Rebecca stated to the therapists that the grandmother and police “saved her”.
The judge in the recent custody hearing did not read the transcripts and did not allow a continuance to be issued so the therapists could testify (as she was in court elsewhere that day).
My sister is very protective of her daughter and I believe she ran in order to protect her from future abuse.
I wish she would contact us! Teresa is not fully charged with a crime YET. She must appear by Nov. 12th for contempt of court hearing.
If anyone knows where they are – please contact the authorities.
The only place Rebecca Allen belongs is with her mother, who would never do anything to harm her. These are lies being spread meant to smear Teresa Allen’s name. She is a very good, caring and protective mother. The father never should have been granted custody of this child, as she has revealed that he sexually abused her. I pray everyone knows the truth soon and this greivous miscarriage of justice is corrected.
In these types of articles, where a suspect is named and known, why not include a picture of that person as well? It may help in finding this little girl faster.
the court systems in the usa are screwed up beyond belief. i fear for all the little kids who dont know that convicted child molesters and killers were let go after serving minimal time are wondering the streets preying on them for a second time….its a disgrace, it makes me sick to my stomach. Who are these judges that make the sentencing decisions? any person who harms a child should be locked up for life or executed.
I called the Missouri Sheriff’s dept a few days ago, and Rebecca is safe! Her mother turned herself in on Nov 4th, 2009.
