I am being bullied at a private school that is supposed to be teaching “moral, wisdom, courage, and achievment…” Anyways i have a low self esteem. I want to just go up to them and punch the crap out of them but i know better unlike them i do have morals and wisdom. i just dont know how to make the stop. I have no one to stand up for me i have trust issues and self esteem issues sometimes i just want to leave my school but i want a better education for myself so I know to stay at that school. I wish they would leaveme alone but no one cando anything abut it because we dont have “Evidence” I wish i would dissapear sometimes… HELP

I hope people buy and read “Grumble Bluff.”

Now, before it happens to our children is the time to:
1. Organize to lean on legislators to pass effective stop-bullying laws.
2. Organize to make principals and school district administrators create and implement effective stop-bullying programs.
3. Find out what’s happening at our children/’s schools and with our children individually.

Thank you for this excellent article. Your advice is right on! Unfortunately, quite often parents and educators sweep the bullying issue under the rug until it happens to THEIR child, or until something happens at THEIR school to make the headlines. Bullying is as prevalent at a prominent school as it is at a poorly funded public school. And children, no matter what their age-group or their parents’ income level, deserve a school atmosphere that is free from intimidation and fear. The effects of being a victim of bullies can last a lifetime. And that, in my opinion, is unacceptable.

In my Young Adult novel, Grumble Bluff, I touch on the issues of bullying, childhood obesity and losing a parent to a communicable disease. I hope in this small way, I can shine the spotlight on these issues and help children to learn tolerance and empathy. I also hope that adults will begin to realize that bullying is a scourge that has long-lasting effects, and we owe it to the next generations to do our best to put a stop to it.
