India is not a democracy but a KAKISTOCRACY! A government run by the worst and least qualified individuals. Indian elites lack the mental clarity to gauge long term trends and geopolitical realities. That is why India has always been on the wrong side of history being a willing STOOGE to the western empire and empire will once again use India mercilessly to hold sway over asia however way they like. India is just a useful fool to the western powers that be who know how to stroke indian ego's with talk of superpower status. India is nothing more than a failed state and a sham democracy!

Contrary to your commentary I am proud of way India has shaped up in last 60 Years. You say that not having international recognition like China is failure then my response will be that we aren't at that growth stage as yet economicaly and militarily but come back after 10 years and we will show where we are as a nation.

Also no need to get defensive about friends as in international politics the most worthless thing one can have is having good for nothing friends. We as a nation have our failings but i am sure we have tried to be friendly with our neigbours only to be slapped and exploited by our neighbours and this is hardly likely to continue.

In my view instead of relations being one way street all the time we need to have relations of only strict reciprocity with our neighbours.
I they are good with us then we should go out of our way to help them but those trying to break or destabilize india will bear the burnt.

ranji, i hope you are mature enough to read my comments and reflect on them, and not go into india defence mode which is so typical of the average indian nationalist redneck. i am indian myself for your information. consider that before you reply or click delete to hide the anti-india stance i've taken in my post.

despite the title, your article is still really biased - india is a terrorist nation that funds and destabilizes its neighbors well before there were any taliban or mujahideen. the creation of the indian state was bloody, with forced annexations of many smaller principalities, and india today spends more time working against pakistan in any possible way or means, rather than working for a common south asian union.

india doesn't deserve any respect in south asia. china encourages the countries within its sphere of influence to trade with it, providing them with incentives to work with them. india pretends to offer pakistan mfn status, then tacks on 1000% duties through provincial taxes so pakistan would never be able to export anything, meanwhile demanding pakistan open up all of its trade with 0% tariffs and grant india MFN (since PK has no provincial taxes and doesn't protect its markets like that, it would only benefit india in the end)

indians need to grow up - there is a reason why india is pathetic - because india is a pathetic and weak and narrow minded country that works for the misery of the region - not because of a bunch of illiterate taliban scrubs who can shoot up 30-40 people in a country of 1 billion

india is also NOT a responsible nuclear power - the first nuclear fissile material india acquired came from the military takeover of a civilian nuclear plant in mumbai - illegally india took the enriched uranium and put it to work in military applications - well before AQ Khan existed, India was notorious for stealing nuclear technology and breaking its promises in the international arena.

Today India attempts to cheat both Bangladesh and Pakistan in water treaties it signed in the 60s by damming various rivers and lakes up. India is a sad and pathetic country. It doesn't deserve to be anywhere near China in global comparison or discussion, period.
