As you first heard earlier today on News Talk 97.3 The Sky, the stepmom of missing Haleigh Cummings was stopped by police at gunpoint in an alleged road rage incident near Orlando Wednesday.
97.3 The Sky learned from sources close to the investigation that Misty Cummings, the soon-to-be-divorced wife of Ronald Cummings (Haleigh’s father), was being picked up from a condominium at 8700 Pisa in the greater Orlando area and taken to the airport for a paid flight to New York City. She was reportedly on her way to a television show taping in the Big Apple.
97.3 The Sky contacted WESH 2 TV in Orlando and told them of Misty’s plans.
WESH 2’s Bob Keeling caught up with Misty at Orlando International Airport just before she arrived at the security checkpoint and asked her about the polygraphs, her impending divorce and the road rage incident.

You will see at the end of the video the blonde woman in front of Misty at the security entrance gate. She appears to be Donna Brock. I went ahead with the story as printed, but was told by sources both prior and after that Brock was to be going with her on the plane.

This little girl (Haleigh) was only in Misty’s life for 6 months.. I don’t think Misty is going to be a massive wreck EVERY single day for 8 months.

This is definitely the “best” thing that’s ever happened in Misty’s life (in one way - don’t blast me yet). She’s famous, she’s hounded by the press, she’s flying around the country, she’s appearing on TV shows, she is apparently NOT hurting for money and I would bet she’s gotten all kinds of offers (including some for posing in certain kinds of magazines if you get my drift) although that’s just speculation on my part.
I think even if Misty did feel some grief about Haleigh being lost I think she’s also caught up in all the rest as listed above. She’s excited!
There are all kinds of possibilities in her future and who knows what people (mostly self-seving types) are whispering in her ear about those possibilities (like book, movie, tv, photos, etc etc.) She’s all of 17 and some of this has got to be exciting.
I mean it’s not like she had nowhere to go when she left Ronald - and she didn’t as far as family is concerned. Someone or some people are looking after her - what their motives are and what Misty’s own intentions are, who knows?
And ofcourse she’s calm and collected,having a good ole time,paid trips to NY and Universal.Everyone is getting free trips and don’t even have to work.
Agreed- she is flying places for free. Being on TV, America knows her. A lot better then her dead end life 9 months ago eh?

She is probably going to show up on a television program with her lawyer who is going to explain the statistics and reasons why polygraphs cause quite a few false positives and yet people like Ted Bundy pass them.
Her lawyer will probably patiently explain something he would NEVER IN A MILLION YEARS BE ABLE TO SAY ON NANCY GRACE …because he would never even be allowed to complete a sentence beyond, “there is a reason why polygraphs are not admissable in court.”
And that will be it. She will sell a picture of herself and Ron or a rattlesnake or a rose or anything to make it legal to get paid for the interiew so she can then pay her legal fees.
Putting myself in her place, what with legal fees and all now, I don’t know how else a high school dropout could rake together attorney fees.

I have thought for a while now that there has been some kind of ‘front’ being put out there to mislead all of us and keep us out of le’s way. Why do you think Ron is so vague when asked about details, he is not allowed to talk about it.
Just sit back and watch the pieces fall, soon Haleigh will have her justice, and hopefully come home alive and well. They are all too calm for something tragic to have happened, I think.

I think they’re both way to comfortable knowing Haleighs 8th month missing is around the corner. I hope they have all the fun they want now…sooner or later the fun ends.

I think what bothers me most about the interview at the airport are her answers to two questions asked one after the other.
The reporter asks: “So you’re saying you did not fail the polygraph?”
Misty says: “No I did not.”
Reporter asks: “Bottom line, you don’t know where Haleigh is.”
Misty says: “Bottom line.”
She does NOT say, “I don’t know where Haleigh is.” All she says is “Bottom line.” It was the perfect opportunity to say that she does not know but she didn’t do it. I wonder what an expert in lying and deception would say about these answers.

I was just wildly speculating about the possibilities in Misty’s near future.
It does not have anything to do with a person’s looks, talents, abilities, accomplishments or anything OTHER than notoriety (the state, quality, or character of being notorious or widely known). It’s being a “celebrity” of sorts. Someone who is “in the news” or in the “public eye” for some reason or another. And there are people who make money off of people like that in whatever way they can.
I did find it interesting that she said that she did not want a divorce. I wonder if that was true. If it was she’s sure not shedding any tears over it - at least not in public. It’s like “Oh well. Whatever.” And shrugs it off.

This is how I feel that she has done to Haleigh as well.
M2C, on my other post I was trying to explain how and why I feel Misty can be charged for child neglect/endangerment. But no matter how I try and word it, it all comes out wrong. I think one of my issues is because I keep going back to the Casey case.
It took Misty 1 1/2+ hours to call 911. Plus her story doesn’t jive. Also Her brother stated he was there around 10pm. Also 20 calls were made to her and she never answered the phone.
I know, this has nothing to do with this article. But it’s driving me nuts. Especially when she has the “I don’t Care” “It’s not my “KID” Attitude”.

Do we ever step back to listen to ourselves. I have listened to Misty at the airport a number of times and I just don’t hear what some of you seem to hear. I DIDN’T hear her say, “I don’t care about Haleigh, I just want this fame, this has been such a good experience for me, I am so excited about all this”. I didn’t see that she was “too calm” or that her being “calm & collected” said that she didn’t give a crap about Haleigh. I didn’t see that this was a joke or a media performance to her. Based on the airport video, it appears she has been given a crash course in talking to the media. Also, I noticed she, like Ron, are unbelievably calm. I suspect they are on anti-anxiety and/or tranquilizer medications. There is no doubt in my mind that someone has been “grooming” her. What do you think?

WoW! Did anyone else see another side of Misty in that video? Not such a shy & demure girl after all. I’m wondering if TM isn’t sending Donna in to stay with Misty the way LP sent the other female to stay with Casey. Fact finding on the DL. It seems strange for this person to have befriended Misty, do you guys think? As for the Road Rage episode, I believe the caller. She did sound like she was faking it to me. It went on and on (the 911 call & attack). When I first heard about it today I started laughing and said “That’s right! Anyone notice that it’s been 8 weeks since TES said that they would come help look for Haleigh again. They said 6 weeks to let vegetation die off. Well…..it’s been 8 weeks. In 2 more weeks it will be turning COLD, even in FL. What is the hold up? Is it due to the tests that were done on Misty? Are they no longer looking for Haleigh but just looking for a missing piece of the puzzle before they arrest someone?

i too think it is suspicious about the clearing the cousin so fast? it was one of several things that made me think, le early on believed (or knew,) haleigh is dead and were hoping to let people eventually expose themselves and the truth. and what about amber?? what is her alibi?
and what about misty losing key? was that a cover story to say, well anyone could have come in mh without needing to break in if they had stolen the key? or is it the truth and someone close to misty took it with out her realizing it? maybe to get to haleigh or to steal say gun, drugs, or money and haleigh saw them.

Justice,I agree with you.Misty has been groomed by someone. This divorce is a another diversion planned between Ron and Misty. They are up to something. I am not sure if that is a hickey , but it sure looks like one. I believe all of this bs is for higher profits. A divorcing couple involved in a missing child case where the stepmom is said to be the key to this case brings higher profits than married.
Misty may not be educated but with no evidence all she has to do is keep her mouth shut. Misty learned this from Casey do not tell LE you were lying to them, because that leads to probable cause for an arrest.
I watched the interview this morning,and in the prelude to it where they showed Ronald saying they took my child. They’ve hid my child, for some reason even though I’ve seen it a thousand times it stuck me like a slap in the face that maybe all along he knows who has her.
I really think that Misty is innocent in this case - she is a child that was pushed into early adulthood from a backward family involved with drugs and alcohol misuse. She is also uneducated (dropped out of school in the 6th grade) - probably due to a learning disability, general poor hygiene and dentia, smoking (signs of what is acceptable for an adult), and super scrutiny - by the law, media and public. Hmmnn… What would your behavior be under these circumstances?! But the bottom line is: Who has Haleigh?

I work as a shrink in a prison system and this case is so hard to figure out. I have 25 years at figuring people out criminals and I flip and flop all the time on this.
I just cannot judge them because we don’t have all the real facts. I believe LE is holding allot back.

I’m thinking that LE doesn’t know much more than we know? I’m afraid this is going to turn into a cold case and regardless of whether Ron and/or Misty are the culprits or the child was really kidnapped, the perp will never get nailed.

wein: I too have been wondering. Are we talking about the allegedly ’staged’ search with the Sheffeild’s, the cadaver dog and the fake FBI guy. I keep asking for info and one poster responded. They said that the dog was stopped from looking in a certain area during the search and that there was a follow-up search done where they found something else. I think all the items that were turned in from the original search were tainted because no real le authority was involved. I personally can’t believe that this hasn’t been talked about more. What would be the motive behind a scheme like that? I can’t figure it out.
I also want to mention again Misty’s statement ‘That weekend was a lie’
Note: she doesn’t specifically refer to the tests as a lie, but the weekend as a whole. There is something playing out behind the scenes here and I am praying it is le pinning down what happened that night and getting ready to bring Haleigh home.
One more note, both Ron and Misty seem like they have been told not to talk about certain things. I am sure some of it may be the lawyers, but le could have a whole scheme in play to dupe the people involved or perhaps make them feel like they are getting away with it and trying to catch them do something incriminating.
And wasn’t TES supposed to be searching again in October? I wonder why we aren’t hearing anything about that. Maybe no search is necessary……?

LE is keeping EVERYTHING to themselves. Unless something comes verified from Simon, Cobra, TJ, possibly Art, I believe nothing. LE knows alot more correct information than the media does. And they aren’t talking to the Press!

It is never too cold in Florida for them to do a search. Usually, people don’t even need a coat during the day, there. Nights can get chilly and some days are chilly, but it is not bitter cold.
I did hear Tim Miller making the statement that he thought Haleigh was dead, but he is most likely going on the length of time she has been gone and all of the lying and changing stories. It will be a miracle if she is alive, but look at Elizabeth Smart. There are so many possibilities in this case that it is hard to say.
I believe that the other side of the family could have Haleigh; anything is possible. IMO I do not think so. LE did polys and interrogations with all members of the family when Haleigh first disappeared. The only one they seemed to have problems with was Mistys and for awhile Rons. I have faith in LE. I also believe they have alot more than they say. When they arrest the culprit/s there charges will stick. I too am worried that they have some sort of evidence that Haleigh is deceased, but I am holding out hope until they release that info. I still believe the key is Misty and the lock is Ron. I would hate to think Ron was involved because I did not suspect him in the beginning. I do believe he truely loves his daughter Haleigh. I believe whatever may have happened was accidental; but due to the circumstances he could be charged possibly with negligent homicide. He does not want to go to prison and neither does Misty.

I meant to write that I hated to start thinking it was Ron was involved. Sorry .In a hurry have to leave to pick up son from school.
I still go back to the trail the dogs followed that night. That is the only evidence right from that night that we know for sure. I think she was taken somewhere by boat. It is just a hunch, it makes sense, but if it is true, it had to be planned out before hand.
I think Misty feels like it is her fault for passing out that night after being f’ed up for three days and not hearing anything. Her reasons for waking up have changed between needing a glass of water and going pee. I know there are times when my son will get up to use the washroom and it will wake me up. Maybe Misty was awakened by someone in the house and she just didn’t know why she woke up. She would notice a light on right away in the MH, it is small and if you go to bed with the lights off, light does shine around the corners. And she immediately went to see why the light was on. Her inner guilt could obscure her test results.
I have issues with TM stating percentages in his ldt. I have never heard that before, I thought, you either pass or fail. I don’t want to badmouth those who try to help, I just wonder. Does anyone know?

If there was a way we could know what le has already uncovered that we might be able to put two and two together but no one knows what they know we have no evidence or facts for the case at all i dont think haleigh is with us anymore. but if she did in by boat do you think it is a possibility that they might have sold her for drugs and the people that bought her is using her for a child slave i dont know just speculations
Ashberry you are right if we only had more facts. Right now everything coming out leads us to believe Haleigh is in HEAVEN due to drug overdose. Anything is possible though. I do not even want to think someone sold this child for such an immoral reason, but there are those out there that will sell their souls for their next fix. Sad isn’t it?
I found out on scared monkeys Misty was set up by Donna. I’m not sorry to say that I wish someone would sincerly reach out this child, right or wrong this childs needs someone to help her see the light. It is so heart beaking to see this opportunity slip away. This child only needs the right guidence to help her see that she needs to come foward.

She has NO friends. She is staying with a gf in Orlando who she first met when Haleigh went missing. That is the gf she was in the car with when she had “road rage”Same gf that went to NY with her. Think of the “money & good times” those girls are having right now!!To them a few thousand $$$ is like millions to the rest of us. Shame.
