Dickens’ tale of Christmas and wealth and poverty in Victorian England is one of the most popular holiday myths outside of those found in religious books.  References to it abound in popular culture, even this many years after the fact.  I don’t even think I can count all of the different remakes and adaptations of this story that I have seen during my lifetime.  But now one of my personal favorites is on DVD and is ready for you to bring home today!

Starting this September 29th, now available on DVD from Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment comes the next item in the classic animation collection and it’s all about Christmas, one of the best holiday seasons out there.  Mickey’s Christmas Carol – Walt Disney Animation Collection – Classic Short Films is ready to come sprinting out of your television screen and fill your living room with some of the best holiday memories that have ever been put into animations.  Bring home this great collection of classics today!

This DVD has four classic animations on it – “Mickey’s Christmas Carol,” “Pluto’s Christmas Tree,” “The Small One” and “Santa’s Workshop.”  The most important, and most famous, of all of these is “Mickey’s Christmas Carol.”  In that film, none other than Mickey Mouse plays Bob Cratchit, while Ebenezer Scrooge is the aptly named Scrooge McDuck.  Scrooge hates this holiday and seeks to punish his employees who do enjoy it.  His nephew Fred loves Christmas, but Scrooge is just too greedy to see it.  But with the help of some great ghosts and the scariest ghost of Christmas future of all time, he sees the error of his ways and embraces the holiday.

The special features included in this DVD are Dolby Digital Surround Sound, the Disney FastPlay option, English, French and Spanish subtitles and a collectible litho print from one of these short films.

How can someone not love this great film?  The other three are still pretty good, don’t get me wrong at all.  The one about Pluto and his Christmas tree is the second best film in this collection and is certainly worth watching.  Nonetheless, there is still nothing that can complete with the Disney version of that Dickens classic.  I have seen it at least ten times because it is one of the top three Christmas related movies out there.  Not to mention, this movie is required watching for the holiday season and it’s my favorite adaptation of the story.  Take it home today and you can watch it whenever that winter mood strikes you.

Bring home this delightful Classic today!
