"Since that time, she has placed the network under the jurisdiction of a lay board, not the local bishops or the US Catholic bishop’s conference."

When the scandal arose last spring about Notre Dame's invitation and honoring of Pres. Obama, fault was laid at the feet of Fr. Hesburgh for years earlier removing Notre Dame from the control of the bishop and his religious order, and placing it with a lay board. Mother Angelica started out with a lay board. Apparently, there is no silver bullet; either route can prove problematic.

EWTN is a miracle. May it continue as long as the Holy Spirit guides it!

Where would I be today without Mother Angelica and the teachers she's brought to us such as Father Corapi? Adrift and rudderless as so many of my "Catholic" brothers and sisters. I think it's fair to say that the teaching of the faith has COMPLETELY broken down. I was an adult Catholic before I even understood that the Holy Eucharist is the source, center, and summit of our faith. How did that happen? How did the years of Catholic grammar school and Catechism classes in the 70's and 80's not get THAT basic knowledge into my head? It's everyone's fault but the Bishops as the official teachers of the Church must accept a lot of blame. God bless Mother and Deacon Bill. And when I met Deacon Bill his words of advice to me: "read your Bible and your Catechism every day." Right on Deacon, strap on the the full armour of the faith and take the FIGHT to the ENEMY!

This is a time for victory! On one side you have a Cardinal who writes heresy, on the other side you have a nun who exposes the heresy. The Cardinal goes to the Vactican to have here silenced. To no avail. Viva la Christo Rey Cardinal Hollywood!

Icould not agree more on this article.I watch E.W.T.N. all the time, thank God we havethis net work.
It is the only defence against the modernist who along with some Bishops could ruin our Church if they had their misguided way.
