I just love happy endings and I can’t begin to tell everyone how happy this makes me to be able to write this article right now. I would like to thank one of BNN’s friends and a supporter of ours for bringing this news to my attention. Thanks treece.
Tuesday night a woman, from Nashville knocked on a door posing as an immigration worker demanding that the mother of the child turn over the baby but when she refused to do so the woman went crazy and started stabbing the mother about 8 times, then grabbed the baby and fled leaving the mother there helpless to fight. Thank God the mother did survive but she is worried about her newborn son being kidnapped.
The state of Tennessee issued an Amber Alert that afternoon. Little Yair Anthony Carillo was only 4 days old when he was kidnapped. Last seen he was wearing a blue and white striped onesie suit. Yair is a Hispanic male with black hair and brown eyes.
The woman that took the baby is described as a white female with Blond hair, about 30 years old with a heavy build. Her hair was pulled back into a pony tail and she was last seen wearing a black shirt and blue jeans. She took off in a black car which was described sort of like a police car.
The good part of this report is that the Amber alert has now been canceled since this morning once the baby was found safe in Ardmore Alabama. The suspect is now in custody being held on abduction charges and is being questioned by the police regarding the kidnapping. She is Tammy Renee Silas, 39 years old and she is from Ardmore.Â
Investigators say they suspected Silas after a witness spotted a Kia Spectra following the baby and his mother, Maria Gurolla in a Wal-Mart parking lot the same day the baby was kidnapped. Fortunately the surveillance cameras from Wal-Mart caught sight of the car and they managed to get the license plate number. The car was tracked down as a rented car from the Nashville Airport the same day.Â
The baby, now 8 days old should be returned to his mother as soon as possible. I can only imagine how she feels now that the baby is safe. If only all the other missing children cases could end like this. I have tears in my eyes as I type thinking if only this kind of ending would come for little Haleigh Cummings who has been missing since February 10, 2009 or for Adji Desir who has been missing since January 10, 2009. That is only to name two. I wish I had the resources to write about every missing child there is to keep their names out there so they don’t turn to a cold case file. It is sad to say there just aren’t enough hours in the day to be able to cover each and every one of them.
It is said from some that it depends on the race, the family and the location of the child’s origination as to who gets reported about but that is not the case with us. I don’t care who they are, or what color their skin is or how much money the families have or don’t have. A child is a child no matter what they look like, no matter whether they are a boy or a girl. They still are helpless human beings that deserve to live in peace and happy. No child deserves to be abused or taken from their home by an unknown leaving the parents to grieve for their child fearing they may never see them again. I often think of an abused child and the fears they must have while being abused. I was 18 years old when I was severely beaten and raped and even at my age I didn’t understand why this man was doing this to me. I kept asking myself over and over again what I did to deserve this. Imagine a baby or a 2 year old or a 5 year old being beaten and tortured or facing death. I shiver when the thoughts of what would be going through that child’s mind. It breaks my heart. Something needs to be done to stop this.Â
In the meantime let’s all thanks God for the safe return of baby Yair. This child was lucky, let’s pray the same ending will happen for little Adji and Haleigh too soon. I wish it would have ended better for Caylee Anthony as well but as we all know it didn’t but it isn’t too late to continue our prayers for the others. I pray for all the missing children to be found safe and that they are soon returned home to their loved one.Â

Follow-up comment rss or Leave a TrackbackVery great article Jan. True a child is a child no matter what they look like and deserve to live in peace and happiness. They have a whole life ahead of them and shouldn’t have to go through no abuse or torture and face death. To all the missing children out there.
Thank you Jan & Treece! I am so glad it turned out a happy ending. Let’s pray for all the missing children!
I’m from WA state and Lindsy Baum is missing here. They do have a suspect. Here’s a link to the local news station.http://www.kirotv.com/news/21186766/detail.html
i can just imagine how the mother felt when she got the news that her 4 day old baby is alive and well even though she will have the scars from this woman to did this stabbing and taking of the baby. she should be well punished.
Great article. Thank you Jan and Treece. I’m thrilled this story had a happy ending. Not many turn out this way.
It’s a shame we can’t shout out to the world to let them know how happy we are to have a new addition to our family. Sadly it’s also an announcement to all the freaks out there.
Apparently it’s not even safe to put a birth announcement in the paper, much less put a sign in our yards.
I am so happy for this mother and her baby all children deserve to be with the mother a loving mother I’m also glad that it didn’t turn out that the mom hurt her own baby then stabbed herself let pray for all the children the missing and the safe that they to don’t be missing someday

i am so sorry bout wat happen to your baby i am glad yuu got him back hope it dont happen again tske care of the baby i have a 1 month old i know how it feels
I have read several articles about the baby being found and the woman arrested. Still, yet to see anything written about charges against this woman for stabbing the mother. The charges reported only appear to involve the kidnapping.
Didn’t they take the baby and the other kids away from this poor mother?
Yes, they took them info foster care, for their safety, until a judge can review the case, sometime today. They did not say why, other than the “safety” of the children. If there was not some extreme danger this is a terrible thing to do. Every single one of that family had been traumatized from the kid napping this is a double blow. I hope it is resolved today.
TN DCS is amazingly corrupt. They spent four years harassing my family on false charges of abuse and endangerment, in four years they found nothing…because there was nothing to find. In the end they sent three people to my house who had me cornered in my living room for three hours before they called the police and had my children forcibly removed from my home. When it went to court the charges listed were that I am Pagan and not Christian. (I’ll be glad to show the court papers to anyone who asks.) I got lucky and found an attorney at a moment’s notice. so 32 days later my kids were home.
This woman speaks little to no English, and needs some serious help in this case. It’s like TN is blaming her for being stabbed and her son kidnapped. This needs to make news enough so that it can be stopped.
assomeone else, I haven’t read anything that said they are blaming the mom for being stabbed or her son kidnapped. They seem to have been very supportive of her and her family. We will have to wait & see, what happens in order to know why they did this. Nothing has been said to indicate that the problem is even about the mom. It sounds like you have been through a very rough situation with them but let’s hope & pray that doesn’t happen here.
Until I had my run in with DCS in TN I trusted the child protective services people explicitly. I’m sorry, but more than once I’ve seen Tn go after poor and otherwise vulnerable families under superfluous circumstances. TN’s DCS is not the same as DCF in other states. No, they are not being supportive of her…they are making public statements that seem like they are, but I can say from my own and several others’ experiences that they are not. The entire reason I’m going into the legal profession now is because I can’t let TN’s system continue to gain from destroying families. I can’t remember where I found it now and I’ll post a link when I do, but TN DCS receives $3000 for every child removed from the home and $3000 for every month they are in foster care. I will bet you that this case finds itself resolved in just over a month. Sites like Kidjacked and others follow the most corrupt DCS states and TN tops the list.
And on a side note to my above post, when my son became an angsty teen this year he decided to balk against being punished for failing grades and reported us to DCF here in Florida. He told the workers the same things that lead to their removal in TN…taking away video games, phone, computer time, and grounding for bad behavior…after the third time a worker came to our home they told him that he would be in real trouble if he made another false report. The system works in most states, but TN victimizes the less fortunate.
assomeoneelse, you may be totally correct in tn as I am in okla. Truly I am sorry for what you went through and lets just pray the best is done for those kids in tn with this case. Hope you have a good afternoon. treece
assomeoneelse, you may have already heard but the kids were returned to their bio-parents today. It seems that someone had told LE that they had taken $25k their child, it had to be investigated before they could leave the kids there. I think it is all resolved now. I knew you would be anxious to know after all you went through there. Hope you have a good evening!!
Thanks, Treece
