I view the U.S.C.C.B.with disdain. They have surrendered their right to act as my moral compass. They have abandoned their core duty to shepherd the faithfuls spiritual needs and have embraced a political agenda aimed at providing amnesty to illegals. They can turn out hundreds of thousands weekly to demand the host country provide benefits that taxpayers do not want to provide but have a yearly charade to protest the killing of 50 million "innocents".They have provided ACORN a leftist,pro-abortion radical wing of the democratic party with $7.3million dollars in cchd funds .WHERE IS THE OUTRAGE.

you are right, Lisa.
The reason the "church" supports these things is that after Vatican II, the "middle management" took over, and they were modernists who saw the church as only good for political causes, in this case that of the left.

One can see the "fruits" in the feminist nuns who worship the goddess, the many nuns (including some of my friends) who left the convent because the life was no longer one of serving God, the "We are church" types, the stance of the "Catholic bishops" on unilateral disarmament etc. that were issued in the bishop's name but never voted upon by the bishops.

The good news is that this is nothing new. And next to the Borgia popes, it's trivia.

But if it helps your faith, my mother used to drive people to clinics etc. The local churches got together and arranged laypeople to do this, and it was coordinated by a nun. When my mother had her open heart surgery, the nun visited and helped clean up. Many areas have similar coordination for "meals on wheels" and the food banks for the needy, again run by private funds or the churches cooperating with each other.

I agree. Ten years ago I was driving an elderly woman three times a week 60 miles round trip for dialysis. She had no money, and neither did I, so I scrapped to cover the gas. She had worked as a volunteer for the church all her life, raising money for the sick, and now wondered why the church refused to help her get to dialysis. She asked "what is the money used for if not for something like this?"

Further, My husband, a tribal member, and I had worked for years AGAINST federal Indian policy and tribal government. We believed that many tribal leaders, (including White Earth, which you mentioned) were corrupt and actually hurting people. White Earth leaders were in fact convicted of fraud and corruption fifteen years ago, yet that hasn't lessened the corruption that's going on under new leadership. So WHY does the Catholic church insist on supporting...basiclly despots? It's a common thread throughout the church to support tribal leadership - despite how the membership is being abused.

And they have supported Acorn as well. That takes the cake.

The fact that instead of doing good - such as taking care of the needs of elderly members - the church is supporting despots, the abortion industry, and Acorn...

Certainly it IS time for the church membership to question the use - and abuse - of charitable funds. I pray in Jesus' name that church membership, as well as the Vatican, rise up and demand transparency, accountability, and purity - as well as Godly stewardship of funds - immediately.
