This is a subject that has been mentioned on several news sites, we can now confirm this as fact. Haleigh Cummings step mom was taken in for questioning over the last weekend. I think the quote from Major Gary Bowling of the PCSO sums it up in a nutshell:

Just how much longer can Misty Croslin-Cummings keep quiet? For months there have been rumblings about Misty and the likelihood that she was not at home that night. This theory certainly gains credibility after the bombshell (sorry Nancy I used your phrase) revelation that Tommy Croslin has stated that he went to the trailer on the evening of Haleigh’s disappearance around 10pm and could arouse no one, no lights were on, no TV’s or radios playing, nothing. The reason for his visit was the result of a phone call from Ronald Cummings who at that time was at work, he was concerned about Misty as he had been unable to reach her via phone.
Anecdotal information is telling us that at around 8:30pm Ronald and Misty had an argument via cell phone. As a result of this argument Misty turned her phone off.
All of the facts fit, I can see Ronald being angry, I can see Tommy going over to check up. OK this is where it gets more complicated. I am sure Tommy called Ronald back and told him that the lights were off, and no-one was home. One can imagine that Ronald Cummings was somewhat concerned. Where was Misty and where was Haleigh and Junior? So, and here is the big one….. Why did Ron go to the store for beer, smokes and peanuts before going home? I would have thought that he would have wanted to rush home to find out what was going on?
It is right about here that some really interesting possibilities open up. And for the most part they confuse me. Misty was at home when Ron got back, we know that from the 911 call. Where was she when Tommy came over?
There is much to pond(er), the PCSO don’t say much, and often it is in an oblique fashion. One thing is for sure, ‘The Heat Is ON’.

Just wondering here…was sending Tommy to the house Ron’s way of giving Misty an alibi? After all, he had one. Misty not being there when Tommy arrived might just be another reason why he was so mad at her when he finally arrived home (his first reason for being mad was she was supposed to call police BEFORE he got home) She hadn’t stuck with their cover-up plans even that early in the game. I have believed from the beginning that Haleigh was gone before Ron left for work and even after all the sideshows and nonsense which has transpired, nothing has come out to refute my belief.

When Ron got news from Tommy that everything was quiet & dark at the trailer, did he assume that Misty was asleep with the kids or that she went out.
What if LE found Tommy’s prints on the front doorknob as the last person who opened or tried to open that door, and they question Tommy about why his prints are there, so he makes up the story about Ron calling him? It will be interesting to hear what Ron says about this, IF he says anything at all.
The whole mess is totally incomprehensible. If indeed Hank Jr. went to the house at the behest of Ron, Ron must have questioned him later if he had not called Ron back. If this is the case Ron has known all along Misty was not home. Why then is he protecting her. ODD!!!
Hank Jr’s parents knew Misty was not home long ago. Why the did they not talk prior to this time?
id say the reason tommy finally spilled the beans on misty is because she did in fact get a restraining order on him.
here are some more theories to ponder:
did tommy find misty after going to the trailer and misty begged him to keep her dirty little secrect? which may have been who she was with.
did ron have someone go look for misty and find her and yes take haleigh and not jr cause haleigh was asleep in the van? could it have been rons aunt lisa? doesnt she live in another state?
one thing is for sure, ron wasnt concerned for his childrens welfare when he recieved word that there was no awnser at his home at 10:00p.m. and choose to even work overtime plus drive right past his house to get beer and cigarettes. ron should have been even more concerned about the welfare of his children considering he got a call from misty saying haleigh wouldnt go to bed. which was over heard by a co-worker. to many winky dinks here.
Gemma–I didn’t realize that overheard phone call was the same night Haleigh “went missing”…but again, this plays into my theory…R+M were attempting to create an alibi that H was home at a certain hour…
one other thing didnt lisa croslin and lindsey croslin both say that haleigh had been watching snow dogs or something? so if tommy did in fact go to the trailer wouldnt he have heard the t.v.?
plus misty said the kids were arguing over what movie they were going to watch.
so i quess what im wondering is between all the rugus of haleigh not going to bed and the phone call to ron at work how could someone be sound asleep by 10:00p.m.
imo lisa and lidsey straight up lied about the movie playing and i do believe they said that was around 11:30p.m.

The more information that is squeezed out of the various players, the more difficult it becomes to figure out what really happened.
Forget about discerning truth from fiction. I can’t even tell the difference between lies that may have been told to cover up a possible crime, vs. lies which may have told out of revenge for finding a mutilated rat sandwiched between monthly bills and junk mail, vs. lies told because of any infinite number of mental maladies.
Just thinking about the endless possibilities is hurting my head. I’m so glad I’ve got a few Excedrine Migraine pills left.
I’m wondering if Misty gave the cops a misdirected “tip” regarding the pond to pretend to cooperate (like her tip about the plastic rose) so the cops would be on her side and take some pressure off. If that was her intent, all I’ve got to say is that she is in for one HELL OF A SURPRISE now.
My daughter goes missing, I am home my husband is at work.. I get many chances to go on national tv to talk… I can promise you I am going to BEG everyone in the United States to come to FL and help me search for my daugher.. I am going to ask everyone that lives in a 20 miles radius to let me search their houses.. sex offenders would be first… then I am searching woods, lakes, dumpsters anywhere … that entire county could have been searched in the last 7 months… I just dont get sitting home doing nothing to help.. That is the only thing that makes me wonder who all is involved..

It doesn’t look good for Misty or Ron if Tommy is telling the truth about going over there and nobody being home. If I was Ron and Tommy told me that nobody was home, I would be very worried. I would probably try to get out of work early to rush home and find my kids. I wouldn’t wait until my shift was over and then stop at a party store to pick up smokes and a beer.
That being said, how can we be sure that Tommy is telling the truth? If Ron really sent him over there and Misty wasn’t home, why didn’t Ron or Tommy say anything before now? It is hard to know who to believe in this case. Hopefully authorities have made Tommy account for his whereabouts between 8:30 pm and 3:00 am the night that Haleigh disappeared.
This is all so sad,why couldn’t Ron have left the kids in better care that night or even previous nights.Misty is not a reliable person she is a kid herself.She knows Haleigh was going to be more smart and intelligent than both her and ron and the rest of them all.When is there ever going to be an arrest,my god!

I didn’t hear anything about a co-worker of Ron’s overhearing Misty calling about having trouble getting Haleigh to bed on the night she disappeared. That was several weeks earlier. Ron and Misty were supposed to have had a bad argument because Misty wanted to go somewhere to babysit, and Ron said no. Then, Misty wouldn’t answer Ron’s calls after that. The movies were supposed to have been watched about 8:00 p.m. and Haleigh was supposed to have been asleep in 30 to 40 min., according to Misty.
This story gets crazier by the minute, and I would like to know if Tommy went to the back door to see if it was locked. He must have gone around to the bedroom because it was more toward the back of the house, I believe. If Tommy didn’t walk around the house, he wouldn’t have known there were no sounds of a TV coming from the bedroom.
If the children had been home, they would have answered with him banging on the door. They would have known his voice and answered, most likely.
How does that pond fit into all of this?
I have been wondering why the blanket was in the van. Did she leave the kids asleep in the van while she went in somewhere and partied?
Ron would have called family to track Misty and his kids down, or left work to find them, himself. He wouldn’t have calmly gone by a convenient store before going home. This story isn’t working out.
Is Timmy afraid that Ron is going to hurt Misty, now that Tommy has said she wasn’t home? Is that why Ron is reporting him for making harrassing calls. Cobra said LE was called out to intervene between Ron and Misty over the week-end, at least, that’s the way I understood it.
Do we know whether Tommy called and talked to Ron after supposedly checking on Misty? If he did, we still don’t know for sure that he tole him that Misty wasn’t there. Tommy could have been covering for her. Even if he’s not a good brother it’s something he could hold over her head one day - use to threaten her with. He may have gone looking for her. Maybe he found her or not. Maybe he found the children alone and HE took Haleigh. But so far there’s nothing to say that he told Ron that Misty was not home at 10pm.
And even if Tommy told Ron that no one was home, it wouldn’t necessarily alarm Ron. Why would he consider his beloved babysitter a murderer or serious threat to his children at that point? What he did know was that she was a 16 year old girl who was mad at him and probably went off in a “huff” (with the kids) but would be back later.
Hey I bet if someone said to Misty “do you want to clear your name once and for all? All you have to do is take some truth Serum….” She’d Sign a paper and do it in about 5 seconds.

The telephone recors show that Ron called Tommy around 9:30 p.m. that night, so we know that much is true. I think Tommy would have gone over to check on his sister.
Teresa Neves was on NG, tonight, saying Misty may have been exausted and slept thru Tommy banging on the door. She said Tommy may be lying about going to check on her. NG put on clip after clip of Ronald saying, if she wasn’t home, he didn’t know of it. He never once said anything about the call to Tommy at 9:30 that night. Teresa Neves looked pretty bad on that show, and NG looked awfully disgusted by her lack of honesty. I don’t know, but they are covering up something.

So, the real questions remain to be:
1. Why did le not note these phone calls to Tommy that Ron allegedly made to him?
2. Why did le state there were only two pings the night Haleigh vanished, when in fact Ronald called Misty numerous times as well as Tommy?
3. If Tommy went and checked on them and then reported back to Ron-the-con, it would add yet another ping and phone record.
4. After Tommy realized no one was home, who else did he call, where did he go and did he run into Misty?

It seems like nothing is new from day 1. 7-8 months of lies, sideshows, fights,headless rat,guns, stealing, drugs, sex, money, twisted tales, plastic red rose,stories, stories and MORE stories.

Why is everyone so surprised about what granny sykes said? This is the SAME woman who said it was “time for something happy to happen” when referencing Ronald and Misty’s wedding. This woman is as cold as ice and the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. In fact, the lying and coniving ways have been handed down from generation to generation. A ring from walmart does not make an heirloom for the Cummings family. A technique of skillfully lying and conning is what the true Cummings heirloom is. Of course, this is just my opinion. You need not look far to see where the entire dysfunctional habits originated. Granny is there, right in front of our noses and she doesn’t give a rats azz what’s true and what’s not true, she’ll say what she wants to say in order to sleep at night.
The audacity it took for her to march down to the pond and demand answers after her entire family has impeded this investigation over and over and over is nothing short of shocking and astonishing. But when you rethink it all, coming from this side of the family, it’s not really shocking at all.

I certainly don’t claim to know what happened and I hope & pray the truth comes out. At this point I don’t think Haleigh is alive but I hope I am wrong. I do think Misty has lied but I really don’t think she killed her. I feel sorry for Misty, whatever happened she is a very young girl to have gone through so much.

However, I do feel Granny and the grand master puppeteer, Teresa Neves, have had an awfully big hand in the events that followed after Haleigh vanished into thin air. I do believe the two of them orchestrated a great deal of this and the day will come when we find out just how involved these two women are/were when pertaining to Haleigh’s disappearance.

Well, her words in that clip have convinced me that she did not sleep in that bed.
When asked “WAS THE BED MADE?”, instead of making statements, such as “Ronald’s son and I slept in that bed”, or “Ronald didn’t think the bed looked slept in, but his son and I slept in that bed” she says:

Ok, so I’m not saying that the father and his wife are guilty, but I do live down the road from them and A) He didn’t really drive past his house, he was right across the street, B) If you lived out here you would understand why a full search of the woods is IMPOSSIBLE!!! The entire town is wooded, there is a state park right down the road (which two people where killed in about 3 years ago) there are drug dealers everywhere around here, and there is a large lake. There are endless places to hide/search for a body and all the time wasted searching in the wrong places could be used to do detective work and find out where the girl is. So don’t blame the cops if anything. There is no concrete evidence that either one of the parents had anything to do with it (despite what Nancy Grace says, because she is the laughing stock of the journalistic world).
Hi, Tuff Stuff! You just reminded me of something I’ve been wondering about for a while when you said “Misty says her and Ron both slept after dropping Haleigh off to school.” Where was Jr on Monday during the day? Did he go to daycare or something? If not and he was home, how can two adults sleep all morning with a four year old bouncing around? If he’d gotten a decent night’s sleep the previous night he’d be full of energy wouldn’t he? Or maybe he was somewhere else Monday morning?

Maybe Misty couldn’t follow along with Ron’s plan. That’s why they fought early in the night. He called her brother to have him help to follow through with his plan. Why wouldn’t Ron mention he called her brother that night? I almost believed they were telling the truth.

I’ve wondered about that myself. I haven’t heard anything else on that but it makes me sad to think that Jr. might have been there either if they were sleeping or not. If they were sleeping and Jr. was there then Jr. and his needs were being completely ignored. If he were there and they were awake one could imagine the types of adult conversation he might have been subjected to hearing and observing in that mobile home, after all, Misty had just returned from the 3 day bender and such. I just don’t see how that could have been necessarily good either way. jmo

Everytime I hear about that bed being made, it jumps out at me. I have wondered alot about that. I hadn’t thought about Teresa or Anette being over there tidying up before 911 was called, but you have a good point. I have thought Teresa might have been in on all of this earlier, because she got there so fast, and she is usually hovering nearby. I have read that the washing machine was going when LE got there, and I wondered, if the sheets were being washed to cover-up evidence.
Also, what you said about Jr. and what he has gone thru and seen and heard, is so sad but true.
If Tommy Croslin is being truthful about pounding on the door, and no one responding, then he withheld this important information for 7 months.

When asked “Was the bed made?”, Misty Croslin twice asks “IF . . . in the bed . . .” and infers “IF in the bed” once.
Three times she responds to the question with a question that contains a hypothetical IF situation:
1. “How would the bed be made IF someone’s sleepin’ in the bed?”
2. “I wasn’t the only one sleeping in it, but how would it -?” [IF]
3. “How would the bed be made IF we were in the bed sleeping?”
Clearly, Misty did not sleep in the bed. Her IF scenarios are meant to discredit Ronald’s account - that the bed was not slept in.

Since you live close by Ron and Misty, what are most people from your community thinking?
Did any of you think they would recover a body from that pond, or were they looking for some other kind of evidence?
I know that the police know more than they are letting on. I have lived in Florida before, so I do understand about the difficulty involved in finding the body. I know, however, that most kidnapped children are found within 3 miles of their home. I know, if my child were missing, I would be compulsive about being out looking behind every bush or rock that I could.
LE is finally releasing some details, and Misty has left town after a big fight with Ronald. Does this mean there is about to be an arrest or has LE realized they have made a mistake keeping everything so secret?
This will be interesting to watch. I wonder how long Misty will be gone. If they are separated, people in both families will start talking more. Misty will feel freer to talk and so will Ronald.
Teresa Neves knows she is not being truthful, but her motives are unclear. They may be trying to keep Misty there so they can find out where Haleigh is. They may be afraid Ron will hurt Misty, or they may be afraid of what Misty will tell about Ron.

If the definition of insanity is repeating the same behavior over and over expecting to get different results, why does law enforcement keep questioning Misty?
If she did something to haleigh herself, she is never going to talk unless she wants to bend over and kiss her own butt good-bye.

Protective custody would do her a tiny amount of good for a very short amount of time if she has been told to keep her mouth shut. Witness protection is the only thing that would work. She would need a new identity, but how? her face has been on national t.v.? and there is no way she would qualify for witness protection anyway unless her testimony could nail a conviction.
If she is innocent, all she could do is tell people what she knows with no proof whatsoever and then bend over and kiss her ass goodbye. If she is guilty, she coud talk and bend over and kiss her ass goodbye.
She has nothing to lose by not talking and everything to lose by talking.
How can we believe anyone from Satsuma, and that includes the lawyers, LE, the families on either side, or Ron and Misty?
They need to give Ron, Teresa,the Croslin brothers, and Cuz Joe the same set of tests that they gave Misty.
I don’t believe Misty deliberately killed Haleigh. So many things could have happened in this case. The child had asthma and Turner Syndrome. If Haleigh’s inhaler was gone, that means Misty was interested in taking care of her. Teresa said something was gone off of the cabinet that Haleigh wouldn’t have ever been without. That was most likely something in case of an asthma attack.
Tommy may have told Ron that Misty was mad and had her phone turned off. That may have been the reason that Ron calmly worked until 3:00a.m. and went by the store before going home.
A dead rat in the mailbox is going to keep Tommy from talking even while in police custody. There’s always the problem of how long someone gets to live when they eventually get out of jail. Sounds like LE is just going to get sent on a series of wild goose chases.
I would be zeroing in on and putting a lot of pressure on Ronald who admitted to Tim Miller that he put a dead rat in Misty’s brother’s mailbox. There is no reason to “test Misty” to see if she was lying to the police by putting a dead rat in her brother’s mailbox as he tried to convince Tim Miller. That story doesn’t even make sense. Did Tim Miller actually believe that sorry excuse for why he put a rat in someone’s mailbox?
I can only think of one reason Ron would put a dead rat in Misty’s brother’s mailbox and the message seems pretty obvious to me….which makes me think law enforcement is never going to get anything out of Misty’s brother or Misty.
I think either Misty was really tired from her party weekend and wanted to go to sleep but maybe Haleigh wouldn’t and Misty drugged her-or Misty wanted to go out didn’t want to take the kids and drugged them and she od’d Haleigh. Haleigh has medical problems maybe it contributed to the o.d Misty either returns and finds Haleigh dead or wakes up and finds Haleigh dead. She panics and either on her own or with someone else gets rid of the body and makes up the story that Haleigh is kidnapped. It’s Casey Anthony all over again.

All we have is Misty’s word that the kids were there at 8:00, wasn’t there supposed to be an AC man there earlier? If so did he see Haleigh there at 5:30? Has anyone questioned this guy? Could Misty have hooked up with him later? Another thing - What about the front door? Was that routinely locked when Misty went to bed?

Most people around here drive around with their “pray for haighley” stickers but really don’t stop their every day lives, honestly we are just sick of the media turning this into a circus, We hope that she is found, but there is no reason to have this much media everywhere.
The police were hoping to find either a body or some evidence, but the pond they were draining was in palatka about 20 miles away, I’m not really sure why they would drain that pond when there are several lakes and ponds around here, including one right next to the Cummings house. Honestly I’m just sick of the media only covering half the story (like the fact that Haighley’s mother was living right acrossed the street after everything started but once the media started getting thin she moved away again)
The police are actually renting a small trailer in the area now and are there every day going through information and leads but honestly it’s been too long to know what happened for sure.
This is a small town, things don’t go on here like they do in metropolitan places and while it looks disheveled and unorganized to you it is a way of life for those of us who have learned to live this way, and I think the biggest problem I’m having is that “outsiders” don’t really get it.
People just need to back off of the issue (esp. the news crews) and realize that they don’t get all the details and that things to get skewed or lost in translation.
