According to a recent report an asbestos related lawsuit has been filed by a man who has contracted the asbestos cancer mesothelioma. The lawsuit has named thirty six companies as defendants in the lawsuit, which was filed by a former pipe fitter and welder.
The lawsuit claims that Tommy Harrell was exposed to asbestos in the workplace, and that this exposure led to him developing the deadly cancer. Harrell claims that he started working around the potentially deadly carcinogenic in the mid 1950s.
He was diagnosed with malignant mesothelioma in July of this year, and filed the lawsuit just a few weeks ago. The complaint, which was also filed by his wife, claims that the companies that have been named in the lawsuit were negligent because they failed to warn of the dangers of asbestos exposure.
Harrell claims that he was not aware of the dangers of asbestos exposure when he was working with the substance, and he is now seeking unspecified damages for mental anguish, physical pain, and medical expenses amongst other things.
