Sunday, workers finished draining a pond on Florida 19 south of Palatka in the latest move in a seven-month search for evidence in the case of the missing Satsuma girl. Haleigh Cummings was 5 when she was reported missing early on Feb 10.
Lt. Johnny Greenwood of the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office said a foot search of the pond bottom was being conducted Sunday.
He said any results from the search would be revealed today. Authorities have not said what they are looking for.
Highlights from the weekend search
* Search of the L pond in the Mondex began last week
* Deputies/Detectives and others at PCSO told locals the activity at the pond was 1) a training exercise 2) search for stolen property (atv’s) 3) evidence in a drug case
* Maj. Gary Bowling late Friday told the Palatka Daily News that the search was being conducted for evidence in the disappearance of Haleigh Cummings
* False rumors spread like wildfire: 1) a submerged car had been found with skeletal remains of a small child inside 2) a car was taken from the pond on a flatbed truck 3) Nay Nay Prevatt had told officers that the “car” belonged to Greg Page 4) Misty had shot herself

That is so true Simon & why would they lie like that. It would have been soooooo much better to have told the truth right up front. Now how are they ever going to get the public to believe or trust them?
As a courtesy, I sent a list of rumors 97.3 The SKY and CNN/Headline News received over the weekend:
1) a submerged car had been found with skeletal remains of a small child inside
2) a car was taken from the pond on a flatbed truck
3) Nay Nay Prevatt had told officers that the “car” belonged to Greg Page
4) Greg Page’s photo appeared in the jail booking log as Tyrone Djuan Hunter (it DID briefly before error was discovered)
5) Misty blew her brains out
6) Timmy Croslin came back to the area from Mass and was causing trouble—name heard on the scanner
7) Green Oldsmobile pulled from the pond
The only question I have is if Timmy Croslin DID return and if so, why? The rest were BS from the get go….and there were plenty more, but they were just pathetic.
I sent the previous post to PCSO…..
On Twitter Saturday, people were listening to the PCSO scanner on line, they heard Timmys name and a reference to his DOB. Therefore it was concluded by the Twitters, that he was indeed in town.. My question.. How could he afford the trip? It is not cheap to run back and forth between Mass and Florida.. And, I doubt that any member of their family had coughed up the 5 grand to bail Tommy out, and even if they did.. The Judge might well have considered an increase to spur that off. Lets be very honest here.. They really want to keep him safely in their “Grey Hotel”.. What ever leaked out of the PCSO, is rather unforgivable, because it seems it has connections with people on the twitter.. I think in any normal LE Dept. the answer would swiftly be:

This is one of the reason, when new Sheriff’s generally take office, they clean house and refill. and do so, Legally.. Problem that Sheriff Hardy had, was a major case right off the bat, and too many fingers stiring the pot.
I don’t blame the public or the internet, that police dept. has had a stinky attitude toward anyone outside of their pitiful little one red-light town since day one. In every case some things are held back, but this was ridiculous. They caused 90% of all this mess. Lie to us, when we can see videos over the news, and have sense enough to know things aren’t making sense.
Then, they expect the public to help them out with their case. That’s a hoot! They wouldn’t read an outsider’s e-mail if their life depended on it. I have no faith in what they will say today, or tomorrow, or the next day.
Why is someone like Ronald allowed to run lawless in their streets bullying and threatening people? He has refused to go in to answer their questions, yet, that family sits there and whines because LE won’t tell them anything! Well, maybe they should try to CO-OPERATE. If they didn’t know Haleigh was already dead, would they be acting the way they are? They are covering up for Ronald and that is the truth of it. I don’t know what part he played in all of this, but he is not totally innocent.
Everyone has been saying, Misty isn’t smart enough to outsmart the whole police dept. Well, I don’t know about that, anymore. All you have to do in that place is say, “I WAS AT WERK” and I DON’T KNOW.
Will there be arrests, probably? Will they convict them??????After all, you have got to stick by your relatives, and everybody in that place is related. So here we go!

Apparently someone living on the pond, lake, whatever, told the reporter they saw it. No mention of a body or anything.
This same station reported the search was done yesterday, long before it was.
So that rumor was not made up on the internet.
T.J. when you sent your list to PCSO did you give the true sources? Number 2, 4, 6, and 7 did not originate from the internet.
It was by all accounts a horrid weekend, with the rumors spewing. I could not believe one i was sent. Misty confessed while under questioning, that haleigh got into Ronalds stash of cocaine while she used it and was out of it, thus haleigh found it OD on it and then she turned phone off and got tommy or timmy to help her get rid of haleighs body.Thius using the van………..is it possible??? sure but seriously people were so upset we couldnt find the truth. I was searching every news outlet to see. Mostly simon and T J and art harris but seriously. remember caylees case …I do and when a possible body was found it was on all the stations..I am to believe there fore it would be the same. Not the town cryer running threw the streets, yelling he said ,she said. We all want Haleigh home !! which brings up another point . where exactly should that be.can you imagine what would run thru that childs mind, the effect this all would have. I just pray whatever the out come TELL THE TRUTH SOMEONE PLEASE in Haleighs name.
TJ, I noticed they were kind enough to dispell 6 rumors.. But there is one rumor that has not been addressed.. They rather skirted that one by combining it with another..
TJ, why would you send rumors to HLN? They are smart enough to check stories out. You just added to the craziness.
Cobra, why were you going to bail TC out of jail? Couldn’t you tell that they wanted him there thus the high bail? Simon , thanks for the great show on Sunday, I look forward to it every week.

I think Cobra answered that ? yesterday. If I remember right he thought about it because of Tommy saving his life in the swamp but was advised to leave it alone, so he left him alone.
Klynn—those rumors were sent to CNN so the producers could see the types of rumors that were being spread locally since they had their share coming into them. Comparision of notes. I do their work here.

So which is worse? Police lying about what they were really doing there, or the public speculating about it online?
Maxwell, the police lying, imo. They have the right to ban everyone from the scene, to tell everyone they are not talking, to refuse any interviews BUT they should be trust worthy. The public pays their salary and the public should be able to trust them & what they say. As far as the public speculating online I think there is a right & a wrong. To start rumors, to crucify someones character based on rumors is very wrong but to ask questions and speculate theories is what this is all about. We can all exchange ideas and concerns and even state what we think but we need to be careful to say it is just an idea not a fact.
