A Detroit man was arrested earlier this week in Detroit Metropolitan Airport after he was found to be carrying $78,000, a laptop computer containing information about nuclear materials and cyanide. The man is an unemployed US citizen named Sisayehiticha Dinssa from the Dallas area and was on his way to Phoenix. Dinssa was stopped in the airport after dogs caught the scent of narcotics from the cash that he was declaring. The agents asked him if he had any cash that he wanted to declare and he said that he wanted to declare $18,000 cash. After the dogs picked up the scent, his suitcase was searched and an additional $59,000 was found. His laptop was also searched at which point mysterious files were found containing information about nuclear materials.

Currently the man is being charged with concealing more than $10,000 in his luggage and is being held until Monday at the request of the prosecuting team led by Assistant US Attorney Leonid Feller. If convicted of the concealment charge, he could face up to 5 years in prison. This is only a temporary charge however as the prosecutors were seeking a warrant to search Dinssa’s laptop in a more thorough manner.
