Health care is one of the primary needs of workers today and being sick is not one of the options that a worker has.

My wife once worked in intermediate care at a children’s hospital. Being in a larger city, they, they had a number of title 19 patients. At any given time they had about 20 patients, many of which were long term (2-5 years terminal). Intermediate care required a nurse for every 4 patients or so. The irony of the job was that they were always busiest on weekends. The reason, parents (especially title 19 parents) would "check the patient in" on weekends and vacations. Why? Because it was FREE babysitting. Some parents were regulars where their child would appear on Friday and leave on Monday almost every week.

What will happen when all health care is FREE?
Forget reducing waste in the system, start building more emergency room capacity NOW. People just LOVE FREE STUFF. Why buy an aspirin for $2.00 when the ER will give you one for FREE??
