But if you want to see money buying an office, come here to the Philippines. The going rate is ten dollars for a vote…and I hear that our mayor has had to raise the amount to thirty dollars a vote so he can get his wife elected…he is in a bit of trouble because his clan hired guns to shoot his rival during the last election (missed the rival but killed five others, including one of my relatives).

At least in the US, even in Chicago, they keep it a bit civil.
