So many reviews I have been reading about '9' have been too dreary. A lot of people expect animation to be upbeat, lively and happy. While '9' surely is action packed it also bears the weight of human emotion and the conflict of mortal sacrifice. Aside from the story the animation is incredible! As a blossoming animator myself and previous graduate of animation I find myself mind blown by how simple and complex the visuals are all at the same time. For ANY who appreciate animation as animation and not JUST a medium for 'happy go lucky things' then you MUST see '9'. You'll be astonished at how evolved this movie is compared to the other three dimensional animations polluting the visual field. I give '9' a five out of five as well.
