This book was beautifully written. The author does a fantastic job interweaving the various decades with the present. Although a tragic story, it brings to life the commitment this family has for each other, the functional/disfunctional dynamics in such a difficult time all while making sense of her (Judy Mendel's) own place and existance. Although I am so sorry this tragic event ever happened, this was a great book and I highly recommend it. I just finished reading this book. This book was beautifully written.
