Still waiting for details on this mornings happenings in Putnam County. Investigator William “Cobra†Staubs is charged with false imprisonment, the charges stem from him attempting to revoke the bond of suspected child molester Daniel Snodgrass who lives in the Putnam County.
I will be updating this story as details come in. We have just received some raw video of TJ Hart interviewing William “Cobra†Staubs immediately after the hearing.
Cobra sounded upbeat following the hearing and feels confident that this matter can be resolved prior to the next hearing.
At the heart of the case is the question of who asked him to revoke the bond? Clearly as Cobra was in possession of the file, someone must have given him the file. Why would they do that if they did not want Mr Snodgrass picked up? In the raw video Cobra surmises that the insurance company is merely trying to avoid a law suit by putting the blame on him.
There is a plea deal on the table, and the prosecutors are turning the heat up by threatening to add a gun charge if the deal is not taken.

Don’t take their deal Cobra. Make them do what you want them to do. The state knows they don’t have a chance of winning the false imprisonment charges or they wouldn’t be trying to find any additional charges to throw at you!
I take it this means Cobra won’t be able to work until the next hearing date? Unbelieveable.
It seems like with everyone involved,something bad happens.I don’t like Florida,too much happens there.I would move to Georgia or something.

Thank you all for the kind words. I won’t need money someday! It is very rough right now and as I have said before, If you don’t have it. Simply pray for me. I know what it is like to look at the family pet and wonder if the food for them is really good for human consumption or not and what day will I have to take THAT chance.
Yea, don’t go there, this is not China. Those of you that have visited other countries, know what I mean. I do believe it will get better. But seriously, thank you all for your support. I was, before all this drama, truthfully looking for her! I just hope all that every one has invested, time resources, prayer, money, sweat, words of encouragement, time away from family, time from other cases, and on and on, doesn’t seam wasted because ONE person holds the key to the truth and is just laughing at us as we give and give. That is what angers me most! Again thanks and be well, this too shall get better I pray.

I would appreciate an update from Putnam County LE (police and prosecutors) on what the heck is happening (or apparently NOT happening) with a case of Daniel Snodgrass – a situation of FAR GREATER public concern (and potential threat) than that of William Staubs?
What is with this SO? What’s going on with the charges, the case, the investigation? Why is it taking so long? Considering what he’s charged with (raping a nine year old) I really would appreciate your expediting this! Or is it just too hard for you, LE?
Is it just so much easier to arrest and swiftly prosecute Mr. Staubs who at least was acting in the public interest (or for our children’s interest and Haleigh’s in particular)?
But too much work to bring the other case to court? I can’t imagine how that child feels knowing her attacker is out walking around – and I don’t care that he’s got a monitoring anklet on. He can still go where he pleases and do what he wants. It’s possibly a deterrant for him to committing another crime but it does not PREVENT another crime! Why don’t you pop in on him some time and see what kiddie porn he’s got on his computer?
Come on Putnam County. Get your priorities straight and do some GD work to actually PROTECT AND SERVE! Instead of looking like dumb, lazy azzes.

I read so many stories about you, you are my hero. I just got my Bail License in California and I am 21. Maybe the youngest Fugitive Recovery Agent with a good mentor. I told people my dream would be to go on a hunt with THE COBRA.
I really hope you beat this case and shut the charges down.

Cobra, is there any truth to the story I read that the reason you are in trouble is because you spoke out against Sheffield and her family.
Saying even that you suspected Marie? Then Kim threatened you to stop. Then the charges went through? Any truth to that?
If so is that because you crossed Kim Picazio and her agenda or does it also involve PCSO?
Could the Sheffield side of the family really have this child? Say Misty went out …… That seemed to be your theory but right after that you were in trouble. I hope you get out of trouble and find the truth.
