I was born in New Orleans Louisiana and raised in the area so if I was not a Saints fan I would be ashamed of myself. I guess I am what you would call a die hard fan. I stick by the team like glue even in their worse times. When fans were wearing paper bags over their heads to say they were ashamed of the team I was out there fighting for them telling the folks that the team needed the support of their fans or they would have no reason to go out on that field and give it their all.

I lived in Canada a few years and it killed me because it was very rare to get to see a game with the Saints playing on TV up there. I suppose their record had something to do with that but I still pulled for them. My son would email me the scores as it would happen and then I would go to a local TV station’s web site from New Orleans to get the details of the game. Not that I am a big football fan but I just loved watching the Saints playing.

I ran across an article today which broke my heart but then I realized, hey the Saint’s team isn’t the only team in the NFL to have these kinds of things happening to their team members. I just hate hearing anything negative against my team.

The Harahan police, just outside New Orleans arrested the Saints defensive back Usama Young Monday and have charged him with several violations and on an outstanding warrant in Jefferson Parish. He was booked with reckless operation of a motor vehicle and flight from an officer using a motor vehicle.

He was released from jail later Monday on a $7500 bond.

I was however happy to hear that the Saints Vice President of Communications, Greg Bensel says that they are aware of the situation and that they are working with him but most of all that they are supporting him in this matter. I am sure he will have to pay for what he has done but I do hope he doesn’t lose his career over this.
