If you define personal responsibility as "narrow minded" than you are correct. I am not denying that there were "greedy bankers" preying on these irresponsible people. All the more reason that there should have been NO BAILOUT! The greedy bankers' banks should have been allowed to fail and go bankrupt, as they are responsible for their actions as business owners. In the same regard, individuals who irresponsibly purchased homes that they knew they couldn't afford should be allowed to fail as well, and start over having learned a lesson the hard way. You make my point when you say, "Even your 13 year old son would know if you give a hundred thousand dollar mortgage loan to a person making minimum wage, Hello!"
Exactly!! They knew better and they should be accountable for their actions, not the taxpaying, responsible Americans.

You and people like you have a narrow minded, distorted view of the housing crisis. I feel any and ALL bailout money should have gone to directly assisting homeowners to stay in their homes. Yes even the ones who got in over their heads and bit off more than they could chew, For behind every mortgage loan failure was a greedy banker, educated in finance, knowing the game inside and out, setting up the dominos. Who approved all these loans??? Who KNEW they would fail??? What a joke this is to keep passing the blame Even your 13 year old son would know if you give a hundred thousand dollar mortgage loan to a person making minimum wage, Hello! The person with the agenda is a snake.
