A Florida judge has denied attorney Jose Baez’s, Casey Anthony’s defense lawyer, motion to seal interviews of Bounty Hunter, Leonard Padilla and his team. Hours of audio taped interviews as they talk about what they heard and saw from Casey Anthony during the time they spent with her after Padilla had he bailed out of jail.
One of Padilla’s team, Tracy McLaughlin spent nine days in the Anthony home and it is said that she and Casey Anthony had bonded together. It is said that her interview is of a particular interest.
The tapes are being released because they are part of public record. They should be released late next week or the week after that.
Andrea Lyon, one of Anthony’s attorney’s is planning to make her first major statement in the case apparently some time after Labor Day. It is said that it will be in a motion arguing that there is insufficient evidence to support a murder charge against Casey Anthony.
I am not quite sure how she plans to pull this one off. I’d say she has got to do some fast talking to convince anyone that murder is not the case here. I am not a lawyer but I don’t see how, with all that they have, anyone can say there is insufficient evidence.
Little Caylee Marie Anthony was only 2 years old when she disappeared in mid June, 2008. Her Mother didn’t even bother to report her missing for 31 days and even then it was Caylee’s grandmother that made the 911 call. On December 11, 2008 little Caylee’s remains were found less than a quarter of a mile from her grandparents home, thrown in the woods in a laundry bag which was put inside a trash bag. She was thrown away as though she was garbage. Her little skull had duct tape wrapped around it several times covering her little mouth nose. And now this wannabe dream team wants to tell us that Casey Anthony is innocent. Will anyone buy that? I doubt many will.

OK, so now they are just grasping at straws! Defense is fumbling around trying to make something stick. Don’t think it’s gonna. I wonder how dumb they will allow themselves to look before they finally give up. I think there is a line between going the extra distance as a lawyer and looking like a complete idiot. They have apparently crossed it.
My heart still aches for this beautiful child.
thanks jan…iv missed your articles…and please put our angels picture back up in your post….
the world knows what that maggot has done to this baby…and we are all watching to see her skank face go down for what she has done…

Not enough evidence?
Gee & all this time I thought the defense was that Casey is INNOCENT & when her trial starts they can finally reveal the TRUTH & reason why she had to lie to LE and everyone else.
Casey better be scared…. it sounds like the defense strategy is going to be ‘Maybe Jesse did it, Or Maybe Cindy did it. Maybe Tony did it. Maybe Amy did it. Maybe Kiomarie did it.’
I don’t think they have ANY coherent strategy & are simply pinning their hopes on getting one juror to get confused enough to think maybe someone else did have it in for Caylee.
I think you’re right, LI_Mom! They’re going to try to create doubt about whether the remains were there the whole time and maybe someone else killed Caylee. I think if they try that maybe we should throw out one more possibility – maybe hosebag did it – and has been orchestrating this whole fiasco since June for the fame and money!
And why couldn’t it have been he who moved the body! LOL! I mean if we’re going to look for a motive to kill the poor child who, other than the mother, gains more than Bozo? Well, yes, and then there’s the grandparents.
I am being sarcastic but when I think about it, the Bozo idea makes more sense than most of the stupid accusations he’s come up with and I hope someone mentions it to him. Maybe he’ll shut up after seeing his name thrown into the ring with all the others! (Fat chance).
yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy leonard
Its going to be awesome watching Casey go down! and her silly parents.
I am wondering about the duct tape. If Caylee’s death were a tragic accident or horrible mistake (pool, chloroform babysitter, etc.,) perhaps Casey panicked and decided to hide little Caylee’s body. Is it possible she actually did love Caylee so much that she did not want bugs to get in her little daughter’s mouth and nose, and as a final act of love, she put the duct tape on little Caylee to prevent that? Maybe it sounds weird, but this is just a thought. Perhaps it was involuntary manslaughter instead of murder.
I must add that I can understand Cindy’s and George’s behavior, as bizarre as it may seem. They are Casey’s parents, and their defending Casey is called “unconditional love,” as it should be for any parent/child relationship. It is only natural that they do not want to see their daughter put to death. I personally believe that life in jail is a worse sentence than the death penalty. Death is an easy way out and if a person is truly guilty, then they should have to spend their life in jail and relive their deed and the consequences of their actions day after day.
If I were a juror, I would not take anything that Padilla says worth a grain of salt. He is a cocky, fame-seeking jerk. I am so sick of seeing the cowboy hat and the toothpick sticking out of his mouth. He is a pompous jerk and, to me, he has ZERO credibility. Also, if his team were not at the Anthony house for security for Casey, then why would the Anthony’s let the female team member actually stay in the house with Casey for 9 days? That makes no sense to me. I think the Anthonys believed his team was there to protect their daughter and their family. If they were there only to protect their financial bond investment, then I don’t think the Anthony’s would have let the female team member (Tracy? – can’t remember her name) stay in the house. I know I would not. Especially if they were not considered part of the legal defense team and could repeat (or embellish) anything they heard from Casey against her. It just doesn’t make sense.
Could someone please explain to me the fascination many people have with skulls and crossbones? I don’t understand the fascination, but there definitely is one among many of our young (and old) people. Even though I cannot understand the fascination, I find it hard to understand why the media and the prosecution makes such a big deal about Casey’s collection of skull pictures. Since skulls and collections of skulls are a “hobby” of so many, why would Casey’s collection be any different? I have noticed skull “decor” on some of the walls of parties Casey attended. It is a national phenomenon for some reason I am unable to grasp. I watched an episode of “Clean House” where a woman had shelves and shelves of skull collections. Also, I have a very religious friend whose granddaughter went to her first day of kindergarten with a “skull and crossbones wearing a princess crown” graphic on the front of her shirt. I just don’t understand it but I have to think it must not be considered a bad thing if they are designing children’s clothes with the skull and crossbones graphic.
I was wondering about this generations fasination with skulls also, It is hard to find any clothing with out a stupid skull printed on it. I will not allow my son to buy such crap!
Just read a few blogs on the internet about the fascination with skulls. Many say it is a fashion fad, just as silk jogging suits were, and no big deal. If the rich and famous are wearing the skulls (and a couple of stars were named,) then so are the young people. Some have said it is a fad that has just returned, like bell bottoms once did, I guess. A blog from one person talked about their collection of skulls that had been put away many years ago. The skulls were brought out to show a sibling’s friends and they thought it was just the coolest collection ever. There was even a blog from a Sunday school teacher who almost bought a pink shirt with the skull and crossbones for her daughter but the store did not have her size. The Mom/Sunday school teacher thought it was a cute shirt.
Bottom line, I think, is the only thing I can think of that a juror might find difficulty with is if the timing of Casey’s posting of the skulls were after Caylee’s disappearance. Even at that, there is the skull fascination everywhere….so, so what? I still don’t get it but, then I used to collect owls!
Advocate for Caylee???
Here’s a cup of coffee…smell it?
I was talking about the skulls only, WolfOne, not the rest of the overwhelming evidence. I have no doubt Casey is 100% guilty. I just hope she gets life instead of the death penalty. She should have to reflect on what she has done for a very long time and live with the consequences of her actions by being put in with the general population of the prison. It would seem to me that Casey’s attorneys should be setting up an insanity defense, because no sane person would do this. But, I guess they can’t do that without her confession, which undoubtedly will never come.
Why is it that once Casey admitted to police that she did not work at Universal Studios, the police did not ask her why she would need a babysitter. Why would she drop Caylee off with Zanny the Nanny when she had no job to go to? Why did they not ask her that? Casey has always insisted she dropped Caylee off with the nanny and went to work. Since we all know she had no job, I just cannot understand why the police did not confront her with the simple fact that she had no job to go to so there was no way she dropped Caylee with a sitter. Also, why didn’t they ask her where she went and what she did every day that she pretended to be going to work?
P.S. I know that she was hanging out with friends and crashing at their houses even when they were not home. And she was out partying to no end. But I just can’t understand why the police did not use the fact that she did not have a job to pursue her lying any further. She did not need a babysitter during the day, so why did they let that obvious question pass by? I wonder how she would have explained that away.
Advocate for Caylee. The police did understand her lying about a job and nanny, that’s why she got arrested and is now up for Murder.
I think the Defense team is using the wrong tactic and should try for manslaughter or accidental death while under the influence. There’s more to this story, they just haven’t figured out what the defense should be. Baez is an inexperienced lawyer, but when he calls in teams of witnesses and they see what a losing case this is, they leave to save face.
