He has been found dead hanging in a hotel closet. I guess that rules out "death penalty" as well as "sociopath." Sociopaths never commit suicide.

Unless he was hung by "the real killer."

I think that teeth and fingernails (and possibly toenails) are like, the only part of the body that won't decompose, or burn up, or something. Or won't be digested by pigs. So it was most likely to facilitate disposal of the body.

Yes, he committed suicide. This confirmed IMO that he murdered his wife. This whole tragedy could have been prevented if someone had raised Ryan not to be a bully, IMO. His own personality would not have developed into full blown personality disorders which evidently he had.

This is a classic example of why we need to nip peer abuse in the bud at an early age. Before it manifests into adulthood and the bully goes to these lengths.

My condolences to his family also. I know this cannot be easy on them either.

Very sad all around...

Thank you, branded. I have to say that surprised me. Here's some info from an article and I will try to post the link. Or just google his name:
---
Ryan Jenkins, the VH1 reality-show competitor suspected of having murdered his wife in California, was found dead in a hotel in British Columbia and preliminary evidence indicates he committed suicide, Canadian authorities announced Sunday.

Hey m2c, you make a good point. His criminal activity happened in Canada so that is how he slid under the radar in that area more than likely. The charge Jasmine made here in the States happened after the show aired so when they checked, he had no record. Hopefully now, if Vh1 learns that someone is from another country, they can try and do background checks there too.

As for testing, yeah, they have to do that so nobody like this is hired and is allowed on the show to do actual harm to another person while there. But I have often wondered to if maybe they picked people who may not have a full blown disorder but have traits in their personalities that come from these disorders? Like say someone has not tested as a narcassist and does not have all nine criteria outlined by the DSM. However, may have say three or four traits but not enough for the actual diagnosis? I do not have a number here or a DSM in front of me so do not know the actual number of traits a person must have for the diagnosis; I am just guestimating here. The behavior on these shows is not stable and I know these shows encourage this for ratings. Having stable people on there would not be as entertaining. I wonder if Ryan had been tested and diagnosed before and when he took the tests for vh1, he was already aware of the outcome and responded differently on purpose? That can happen also. Its a strong possibility.

Vh1 has to cover themselves too. They will do all they can to ensure that so no possible lawsuits will develop. I do hope in the future they will check those who are from other nations if it is possible so this does not happen again....

Yeah, the more I am hearing about him, the more I am believing he is a bully. The writing is on the wall as they say.....

The "help" Ryan Jenkins needs is the death penalty or a life sentence without parole (really NO parole ever)! My gosh, he cut her fingers off and tore out her teeth (possibly to try to prevent her being identified) after strangling her.

But you are right, Elizabeth. He was a bully.

It was reported today that: "Jenkins had a criminal history in his hometown of Calgary. He was sentenced to 15 months of probation in January 2007 after he pleaded guilty to assaulting a woman. When he was sentenced, the judge ordered him to undergo psychological counselling for domestic violence and attend outpatient treatment for sex addiction, according to court documents." Now THAT's a bully.

Vh1 does criminal checks on people too but missed that perhaps because it happened in Canada.

Anyway, even though "Vh1 has stated that they do psychological testing on potential contestants for their shows" I'm wondering if they have ever made public what their criteria are for supposedly "passing" the test? Maybe they LOOK for hinky people. As you said, people on TV who look unbalanced may make "better television" (meaning ratings). Or maybe he's clever/sick enough to fool the test.

Sure hope they catch him before he hurts or kills anyone else.
