The back room talks are over, as the Democrats announce today the selection of Rep. Steny Hoyer  over John Murtha to be House Majority Leader. A brave face was put on by Democratic Committee members yesterday, as they hoped General John Abazaid would agree with their Withdrawal plans. The Generals testimony yesterday, as was suggested in a prior post ( http://www.bloggernews.net/12156) was the death knell for any talk of a cut and run policy in Iraq. General Abazaid’s testimony yesterday forced the Democratic leadership to distance themselves from Murtha. This was a wise move.
