According to a recent report DuPont is at the centre of legal action that has been taken by the family of a man who died from the asbestos related cancer mesothelioma, with the family claiming that throughout his employment the deceased was exposed to deadly asbestos dust and fibers, which eventually led to his illness and death.

The wife and son of Albert Abshire have claimed that DuPont is responsible for the deceased’s exposure to the deadly toxin because the firm did nothing to protect employees from this exposure when they were working with and around asbestos.

The complaint states that Albert’s death was a ‘terrible and painful one’ and the family is seeking damages by way of compensation as well as any legal costs involved with the action. The complaint also claimed that the company failed to warn employees about the dangers of asbestos exposure.

Asbestos is a known carcinogenic that was once widely used in many different industries, and can cause a range of health problems including the serious form of cancer for which there is no cure.
