Yesterday was quite a day in the Haleigh Cummings story. What had been on the insider rumor mill for weeks actually came to pass. Crystal Shefield fired attorney Kim Picazio. You notice the use of the word ‘fired’, well that was what happened.
It was with humor that I read this comment emailed to BNN from another site:
FYI – Art asked me to let all of you know that Kim Picazio just resigned as Crystal’s’ lawyer, and sent an e-mail to PCSD this morning as to same.
Rubbish, she was canned. Picazio had become a huge obstacle in moving the case in any direction. I will not resort to the gutter tactics employed by certain web sites but I will share a little information. What the general public may not be aware of is that a heated war of words has been raging for weeks in email. And while Picazio was not the instigator, she was certainly a willing participant. As the venom grew, so did the CC list. Often the content of the email was overshadowed by the CC list.
CNN, Fox News, Putnan County, the FBI, oh it made for an interesting read!
Most of us included in this ‘lofty’ group opted to sit back and watch the drama unfold. And unfold it did, each day brought new and entertaining accusations, most on a schoolboy vendetta level. This in my mind was a potentially career damaging move. While most of us press types merely enjoyed a ’round the water cooler’ chuckle over the steady stream of asinine exchanges, it was clear that some on the CC list might take a slightly different view.
It became not a question of ‘IF’ just a question of when. I am sure that Picazio has learned a great deal from her 15 minutes of fame. Not all fame is good for your career. One lesson learned early on in my life was in a sport I participated in, the only way to move forward was to take on opponents that were better than you. Picazio derailed herself by getting embroiled in a pointless email war with someone who no one has ever heard of, and to put the icing on the cake, does this in front of us all. Ouch!
I pick my battles wisely, and this is one battlefield I am glad I kept out of.
The upside of this development is that maybe, just maybe, the case can move forward once more. Get the personalities out of the equation and who knows where this can go, and how quickly. Haleigh Cummings father Ron also finds himself without representation. His lawyer has withdrawn from the case stating:
This office has been successful in handling the DCF investigation and resolving family law issues between Ronald Cummings and Crystal Sheffield. We undertook this representation pro bono as a public service to not only Ronald Cummings, but to the citizens of Putnam County in the interest of clearing up these controversies. There are no pending legal matters involving Ronald Cummings. We are ending today our representation of Ronald Cummings on good terms. Our website, findhaleighnow.com will remain online but will not be updated.
Unofficially that translates into, we are not making any money, and this case is a can of worms. Sticking around makes no sense.
I suspect that Law Enforcement is also interested in these developments, maybe Ronald Cummings will once more be willing to get around the table and talk.
I am also sure that there are elements of the investigation team that are shedding few tears about the loss of Picazio. Grumbles abound that Picazio was leaking confidential information to the press. Well she certainly was not doing it to us at Blogger News, but, there are enough bread crumbs left to trace an interesting trail to another web site. That is speculation, but I am certain that if this ever became a legal issue it would make for a very interesting series of discovery.
For five months we have been sidelined and snowed with BS. Maybe we can once more get to the solution, where is Haleigh Cummings?

Great Story Simon! She seems to lie when the truth sounds better, and is easier to tell. Now, who got terminated? Palatka News did make that comment about me and she said it, however I am still here and still fighting for the Return of this Child, regardless of what happened.
She will be missed as I and my team spent several hours each day on the damage control of her LIES and effects they carried to this case. Now LE, and the rest of us can concentrate on this case and not the sideline version of the young and restless…lol And yes we did change the channel, this is not the KIM Show Anymore! I’m simply dismayed that you can find so much joy in such an immense tragedy. I’ll always remember the way you giggled like a schoolgirl when you thought ksue was going to nail Kim for you. How did that deafening THUD sound afterwards? Something to think about.

It was about her wanting her 15 minutes of fame and it was about the 1,000′s of dollars Kim paid to Cobra out of Haleighbug Center funds to cover his so-called “expenses” in this case while he sat back and allowed Crystal to be slandered all over the net about not paying a dime of Center funds to him to find her daughter.
I’d like to hear, just once, a truthful statement from Cobra about how much money Kim did give him from the center, besides the $600 he “mistook” for expenses and how much he received total from donors as a result of his solicitations on Art’s site, your site, and Holmeseths site. Seems reasonable to me for him to be honest about how generous Kim was to him with Center funds, doesn’t it seem reasonable to you?
Not that I expect him to respond, it not being a positive soundbite for the next wanna be “Dog the Bounty Hunter”, but then, not telling is as revealing as telling, isn’t it?

This is not from Art and I seriously doubt the source saying Art asked him to let them know. Art has been close to Cobra and Simon in this as he shows up on his radio shows. He wouldn’t have sent a messenger to stir up trouble. I come here to read if her investigation has unraveled any new information not to find out who’s in and who’s out. First of all I have to say this… MARLA did you really think I wouldn’t figure out who you are here?
Now who is changing names? Simon and I never change our names in fact we use our real names whenever we are online. Looks to me like SickNTired aka Marla is the one guilty of that.
Second you are accusing us of bashing and sending out pictures. I would like you to tell me of one person we did that to. You can’t because we have NEVER sent out any pictures to anyone. And IF we are bashing anyone look at the dates on here where you say we are doing it and I can guarantee you that it was AFTER someone did it to us elsewhere, so don’t come here accusing US of doing something that YOU YOURSELF are guilty of.
Third, I don’t sit in forums all day lurking, it is my damn job to run our forum so that is none of your damn business, yet I could say the same thing about you since your name seems to be very popular in a lot of the forums.
So before you go around accusing us of things you need to look at yourself in the mirror and lecture yourself. We don’t need your kind in BNN. We are not perfect by long shot but you show us one person that is and I will apologize to THAT person.

This is YOUR site and people come here to disrespect you and Simon. Noone forces them to come read. Yet they do and then go back to Art’s forum and whine. Over and over. And poor little Marie got her feelings hurt yesterday here and went back and made a speech about how she was leaving got the attention she craved and now she’s back like we all knew she would be. She sure has shown her true colors from the early days when she pretended she was a sweet nice girl. Now that the neutrol folk left the forum and its almost all Ron haters there her venom and true personality shows MOO.
This case is not about the posters. It is about Haleigh Cummings. People complain about the sideshows but they keep making more sideshows everyday trying to make things about them. This not about anyone other then Haleigh. People should stop whining and focus only on Haleigh. FIND HALEIGH CUMMINGS!

OMG, I have been gone 2 days and come back to a bunch of adults acting worse than kids. why in the world can everyone stop the bashing and focus only on Haleigh Maire Cummings? We are all here for the same reason and thats Haleigh. We need to pull together and pray together for the baby girl.

I completely agree, Anne. I have said from the get-go that anything done by Cobra, Kim, Art, or anyone from the media, bloggers, etc., needs to keep the focus on Haleigh and NOT the “he said, she said.”
Now that Kim and Ron’s lawyer(s) are out of the picture, I can only hope that the actual firing of Kim is history, along with everything she allegedly did.

Curious and SeeYaKim, you should be ashamed. Pure and simple. This is about Haleigh, not about you and your personal vendettas. You’re getting all the attention YOU crave, isn’t that the bottom line?
This is sad. I do see the little jabs here and there on the original article, are they harmless? I guess…but in ya’lls case you dont need to make statements like those to be right. What we need to know, as far as who’s right or wrong in this whole thing, is the parents of Haleigh Cummings….clear one of the biological parents of any involvment, and maybe then we can get onto to what happened to Haleigh. Now, DCF cleared Ronald of child abuse……. cant LE clear one or the other of involvement in her disappearence? MY GOD! Clear someone! So we can move on.
I still say when they told TES to go on back to Texas, the hairs on my neck stood up. But I honestly dont know.
But anyway, dont get all defensive, lay down your differences and let it be water under the bridge. Lets find out what happened to Haleigh…please dont alienate anymore players in this case that came into it to report or help get us info on it. Thank you.

I am so taken back how this case has been handled. I am psychic and have tried many many times to get any of these people to listen to what I have to say about what has happened to Haleigh and only to have it fall on deaf ears because they are all worried about putting the focus on themselves and not where it belongs…on Haleigh.
You would think this missing child would be thee most important issue.
Hopefully some day this child will be found….I pray for her.

Gotta give a thumbs up to Cobra, thanks for sticking with the case. When the jail issue came up, I remember there were rumors about Kim’s involvement. Some have defended her in these comments, but to me, it seems she was not working in the best interest of Haleigh, & finding her. Some persons let fame or money go to their head, & then cannot deal with situations clearly & efficiently. All some can do is sweat the small stuff, while ignoring the big picture. Haleigh needs to be found, if at all possible, after all this time. My gut feeling is, not enough has been done for her. Thanks again to Cobra & BNN.
Hi Jan and Simon. I would like to hear what Cobra has to say about allegations he intended to use this case to boost the ratings on his reality TV show, Tank & Cobra, when it airs as well as an accounting of how much money he’s taken in on this case. Sources are saying he got $7,500 alone from the Haleighbug Center. How much did he collect through AH site and WIA site as well as other sources?
It would really be sad to find that Cobra’s motive was more about getting media attention trying to solve this case to help his show rather than the motive he claims.
