I recently published an article about Michelle Bart, and that she had scheduled a radio show on Blog Talk Radio. The show aired last night, and I am now even more baffled than I was before.
Michelle Bart has a long history of being in the Anthony camp, she was the original spokesperson for the Anthony family when Caylee was first reported missing. Last nights adventure, which was on the one year anniversary of Caylee Anthony’s disappearance being reported to law enforcement (some 30 days after the actual disappearance) was billed as an opportunity to discuss the autopsy report and the case in general:
On our first upcoming show, we will explore the Caylee Anthony autopsy report with a forensic expert and discuss the case that became public knowledge a year ago on July 15, 2008 in Orlando, Florida.
What possible motive could there be? Why would Michelle Bart, a long time supporter of the Anthony family want to air such a program? These questions kept going around in my mind, I knew there had to be an angle, but what could it be?
As the Germans would say ‘allez ganz klar’, all becomes clear. This was a 45 minute excursion into discrediting the validity of the autopsy report. Michelle Bart had professor Shelley Schaefer, a forensics expert as her guest.
It was an entertaining excursion into the ridiculous. Maybe the most outstanding piece of idiocy was bringing into question the identity of the skeleton. Professor Schaefer even questioned the sex of the skeleton! One has to wonder about the credibility of this expert.
I am not sure that Michelle Bart was quite expecting the questions that callers had. Right out of the starting blocks a caller grilled the good professor on her credentials to even talk about the subject. It went downhill from there.
Unable to resist, I called in with the all important question of why mother Casey Anthony waited 30 days to report that her daughter was missing. Needless to say, Michelle jumped in and explained that that was not the focus of the program, yet the program description specifically states ‘…and discuss the case..’.
A little later the subject of duct tape came up. Once again the good professor had some unlikely words of wisdom. In her esteemed opinion the duct tape was applied after the child died. That stretches my imagination to the limits. Why would you put duct tape on a dead body?
Michelle Bart is either the most ill informed person on the planet or an imbecile. One caller brought up the subject of the famed Anthony Bat Boat donated by the Kidfinders organization. Bart pretended that she did not know George and Cindy had a boat!
Being an interviewer, and the host of numerous call in radio shows I found the entire program to be an absolute farce. The subject was supposed to be the autopsy report, yet it was clear that Bart had not actually read it. Preferring instead to rely of second hand comments gleaned from CNN.
Clearly this entire program was an exercise in public relations that got badly derailed. Rather than achieving the goal of bringing doubt and uncertainty to the autopsy report, both Bart and Schaefer came across as buffoons. In fact it was not just derailed, it was a full scale train wreck. Rather than achieve the mission of casting doubt and uncertainty, something akin to a Marx Brothers movie unfolded.

I mean, first things first, right?
The show was just another stop on the Casey Defense Tour. Why would Michelle and her guest do this radio show without reading or understanding the autopsy report? They both gave out false information (which favors Casey’s defense).
Here are some of the lies they told:
Professor Shaeffer: “There were no prints on the duct tape”.
Wrong: The reports showing examination for prints stated there were no prints from George, Cindy or Lee – It did not state whether there were prints from Casey.
Michelle Bart: “The duct tape was wrapped around 5 times”
This is not stated anywhere in the autopsy report. The report states it was wrapped around “several times”.
Professor Shaeffer: “The duct tape was placed post mortem”.
Not true. The autopsy report states “the duct tape was clearly placed prior to
decomposition”. It also states that the duct tape held the mandible in the correct “alive” position, therefore it is believed it was placed antemortem (prior to death).
Professor Shaeffer: “Since the tape was placed post mortem there would be no saliva or blood on it”
What? Even if it were true that it were placed post mortem, blood and saliva don’t just disappear before tape is applied. It was as if they were trying to place doubt that this really is Caylee’s body!
Simon asked why it took them 30 days to report the body and Professor Shaeffer stated that the property was searched multiple times, not finding Caylee there. She failed to mention the area where Caylee’s body was found was under water and could not be searched!
Callers, including Simon, continued to ask them difficult questions which they refused to answer, even hanging up on one caller.
The whole thing was just a charade!
Michelle Bart, George and Cindy Anthony, and their circle of supporters remind me of the Holocaust deniers and their methods.
I wonder if all these people who think casey anthony is america’s princess (GAG!!!!!) realize what they are trying to do? really i really wonder if these people take a second look at what they are saying and doing? THAT PROGRAM DISGRACED THE MEMORY OF CAYLEE MARIE BIGTIME!!!! this is why the trial needs to start and the justice and mega amounts of respect due to Caylee Marie will be given back to her..i will almost absolutely die if this blackhearted vile woman is not convicted..this case for me IS AND ONLY ABOUT CAYLEE MARIE! I still am having a hard time figuring out how a woman who had no job stealing from everyone ( including her duaghter, and grandpa who is dying out of his hospice account!~!) can afford a high powered defense team like this.. IMO they are all out to make names for themselves well they picked the wrong case to do it with..becouse DENING JUSTICE FOR A 2YR OLD BABY!!!!!! is beyond repugnant just to shine your name…when her mother did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! to help the police or find her missing duaghter…it was all about her and how much of a victim she was…caset anthony is close to the ipidimy of evil!! her selfishness is off the charts!

Perhaps there was no blood or saliva on the tape because the REMAINS had been under water for months!
If the Ants do not believe the REMAINS were those of Caylee, why then do they wear the cremations in jewelry? As strange as it is to wear a loved one’s cremated REMAINS in jewelry, how sick is it to wear some unknown person’s!!!!
Love your article Simon. And love your call in to that farce of a radio program. The only reason it was interesting at all to me is because there hasn’t been anything about the case in the news for so long, it was actually nice to hear somebody talking about it. All the callers’ questions were dead on, and I especially loved it when Michelle Bart got flustered! hehehe
and if the remains were not caylee, why would cindy & george lay claim to them…hmm. michelle barf..find a new job..like hosting vile prisoners that commit hideous murders, and hook up with one.
Thank you Simon for staying on top of things. The show was simply standard Anthony rhetoric. Maybe these will be the type of things said by the defense at trial – they did perform their own autopsy? I definitely believe that M Bart and the Anthonys all wear the same jersey. I am sure M Bart did not pay for this ‘expert’ out of the kindness of her heart (on behalf of the Anthonys). It is nice, though, how they are leaving this trail of bread crumbs for all us to follow….

I think the people who have followed this case in depth from the beginning are quiet adept at keeping the facts straight. Are they hoping for a jury of retards….. maybe then their daughter will be free.

A few months ago, a group of people began commenting on this site after each Caylee article that Michelle Bart was a wonderful person and no longer had any connection to the Ants or KidFinders.
Yet, clearly, Michelle has some kind of stake in this case.
Now might be a good time to remember that Michelle actively participated in providing false leads to the police such as the cell phone picture of a girl playing at the mall, a picture that not even the Ants were willing to identify as Caylee, but that Michelle and the Ants and their pet liar, Dominic Casey, presented as possibly being Caylee.
And don’t forget that Michelle actively continued selling Find Caylee T-shirts from the Ant website up to a month after her body was found. Perhaps this radio program was an attempt to justify her continued sales of Caylee bracelets… as she seemed to be implying the body is not Caylee.
The question everyone should be asking is why is Michelle involved in this case at all? She is not related to the Ants and did not know them before Caylee disappeared. It would be extremely interesting to compare the size of Michelle’s bank account at this time last year to her account balance today.
There is something extremely insidious about a person who proclaims themself to be active in non-profit organizations, yet runs a for-profit business that makes money by dealing with those same not-for-profit charities.
You may put duct tape over the mouth of a dead body if you’re trying to make it appear as if the person was kidnapped and subsequently killed.
I’m not saying that is what happened or that other evidence does not contradict such a thing. I’m just trying to point out that such a thing is not so completely unreasonable that it can be ruled out on its face.
Oh, gosh, does this have to start again? These people should have to have a permit to get on national airtime. Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease go away!

Are we really actually going to get to comment on this site again? Had a hard time with getting on when the changes were made and I surely missed it a lot, this is my main source of news on Caylees case. I need to keep up with what happens to that monstrous mother of hers! Michelle Bart should be placed in the same cell with Casey along with the rest of the Anthony family. Just one big wad of liars to tangle together and evaporate! From first comment by Bart, we all knew she was in the Anthony camp for good and this radio show just confirms it. She can tell us all the covering lies she wishes but that does not make it true nor does it cast one moment of doubt in the intellectual mind of Caseys guilt. We already know that the “remains” are Caylee, forensic testing has been done and conclusions are made so Bart and her puffed up expert can sit down and shut up right next to the poor excuse for grandparents. This was indeed a charade and a makeshift smoke screen, so we just ignore the whole works.
IMO, one possible reason why Casey would use duct tape on an already dead baby might be to keep maggots from crawling out of Caylee’s mouth & nose.
Does anyone have a credible link/source regarding the cremains jewelry? I’ve heard this repeated over & over & wondered if it’s just a rumor OR is a fact. Thanks in advance.
In any event, do the Anthonys now want us to believe they had a memorial service aka Casey pep rally for remains they weren’t SURE was Caylee? LOL There’s no way in hell that Cindy would have had a memorial if there was even an iota of doubt as to the identity. NO WAY!!!!

I feel that it is truly a sick thought to wear jewelry made from the remains of a precious grand daughter! I love mine with every fiber of my being but to wear them on my body, how disgusting! Just the thought that the child is dead is enough to drive a person crazy but to have them put into jewelry borders on total mental sickness!

From what I hear Michelle Bart is a total moron.I didn’t listen to the show and after reading everyone’s comments I’m glad I didn’t. I don’t mind watching and listening to the Anthony’s and their followers make asses out of themselves, however I get extremely frustrated that I cannot smack them upside of their heads and try and knock some sense into them. What kind of people can go about telling lies and changing their stories and honestly believe the public is stupid enough to believe them. I can only assume they think the public is as big as liars as they are. What a world it would be if we were all like the ANTHONY CULT.
Simon, I very much enjoyed listening to you gently trying to pry some honesty from MB as to the extraordinarilly long 31-day delay in reporting Caylee’s disappearance. She was ill-prepared, to say the least, to handle any amount of honesty from any of the callers actually. What kind of questions had she imagined would be asked? How to start a non-profit business of your own (actually I think someone DID ask her that)? How to brainwash the public?
Actually, there is a large market for “cremains” jewelry. A lot of people wear it and you would never know, from the look of the piece, unless they told you what it was. Usually, the most common is a locket.
Truthfully, I see nothing wrong with someone wearing such a piece of jewelry. Everyone has their own way of mourning and remembering their loved one. And, I would never question a person’s manner of remembrance, it’s a highly personal decision and shouldn’t be judged.
That said.. the fact that the Anthonys wear such pieces makes me sick! Mostly because of the mess they have made of this case and the way they have stood in the way of true justice for Caylee.
That little girl loved them unconditionally, as she did her own mother. I have no doubt they loved her in return, but apparently they love or are afraid of their own daughter MORE.
So, for this reason, I think they are wearing this jewelry for show and for ulterior motives. As they do everything else connected with this case.
Hi to Simon & Jan I call into BTR every once in a while about this case…. Yesterday my fingers just couldn’t stop from calling the MBarf show. I told her I knew the spin and where it was going (not caylees REMAINS) These people should be waterboarded. It just makes me so angry, she clicked me off….. Team bozo must be desperate.
Elaine I agree with you about the Anthonys wearing this jewelry for show just as they have worn so many other things.For instance don’t you all think its high time for George to stop wearing that button with Caylee’s likeness on it? This is an incredibly insightful comment. I have been wondering about the duct tape for months. I personally believe that Caylee was killed in a moment of passion by Casey and I have never been able to reconcile the duct tape as it would be extremely difficult to wrap the child’s head multiple times as she was screaming and fighting as I cannot imagine any child sitting still for this treatment even from their mother. This theory about the duct tapes makes a lot of sense since we know Caylee’s body spent some period of time in the trunk of Casey’s car.
Ll_Mom and Martin, This is indeed an insightful and possibe theory! I had a difficult time understanding the duct tape speculations as well. This theory, though, would leave one to wonder where the reported stains in Casey’s trunk came from.
G’ma2ten, I’m not sure I understand why you are confused about where the stain in the trunk came from?
My theory is that Casey probably stashed Caylee in the trunk immediately after she killed her. Due to the hot weather, the body decomposed much more rapidly than she anticipated & left the stain PLUS it quickly attracted insects.
Thought about WHY the duct tape was around the WHOLE SKULL… the skin now wasn’t dry enough to allow the tape to stick tightly plus Casey has to deal with the unexpected insect activity.
Now Casey has to sneak back to the house for the blanket & the canvas laundry bag… which was probably very porous & NOT good at concealing ODORS! She probably wrapped Caylee up when her car was spotted backed into the driveway. Was the trunk full of insect larvae… could THAT be what Casey wanted to remove and bury with the shovel?
Casey is too revolted to kiss her daughter goodbye so she substitutes heart stickers on the area of her baby’s mouth.
Did she go back to the house at another time for trash bags? The laundry bag was a mess and she sure can’t chance being spotted carrying a stinking, light colored package into an empty lot. Also, a dark trash bag in an empty lot is unlikely to attract immediate attention but a light colored laundry bag would look out of place even in an area where people might illegally dump trash.
I find it odd that Michelle has supposedly removed herself from the Anthonys when she left them and Conway joined in…but finds it necessary to suddenly have a radio broadcast pertaining to the autopsy report…feels like she is still in bed with the entire crew..including Baez…and prompted by the Anthonys who so wanted the results not released to the public…Bravo Simon for your attempt to get a word in..and you did great AngelinFl.

Is the defense going to claim that the second autopsy has shown it was not Caylee? My gosh. It is so stupid I can’t even write about it anymore.
I don’t get the lady on the radio show talking of a second autopsy being done by the defense; when the body was creamated. If the defense had plans to do any investigation of there OWN!; they wouldn’t have first after being offered the oppurtunity by the Judge to inspect the crimescene said no-need, and later after many people had contaminated it changed there mind, NOW they want to consider doing a second autopsy? This defense team is almost too stupid to joke about. They from the begining have done absolutly nothing to help, defend, or even fake resonable doubt for the baby killer; everything they get or know is from the hard work of the prosecution….Casey girl you gonna fry!

If Casey did not do it none of them would know anything. but she seems to clearly say it was done after. hmmmm.

As long they do not try to sell us that they are now baptized and holier then thou…
To be baptized means a rebirth = to come clean.
