ROAR!! was an absolutely amazing series that never got the recognition it deserved by viewers in the US. Our family LOVED Roar, we watched it religiously.
It was nice to read this behind the scenes look.

It helped that I am a family historian and my ancestry goes back to 400 AD Ireland with the O’Neill lineage, so this was the story of my people! That aside, I was swept away by Heath Ledger and furthermore I boycotted the stupid little show that replaced Roar! for years, a little ditty with Colesta Flockhart….

ROAR! was sensational, I bought the DVD set too for the shows that never aired in the US.

I too bought Roar after Heath died. I’ve watched here at work while working on the treadmill..watching Roar made it easy to workout. Such a great actor and very much missed.

I remember watching this show when it first aired. I was instantly drawn in to the story as soon as Heath came on the screen and I was so sorry when it was taken off the air. I loved the show and I’ll have to get the DVD’s so I can watch it again and see the episodes they didn’t air. I remember thinking when I watched Heath as Connor, “Who is this guy and where is he from? He’s amazing and I think he’s got a long career ahead of him!” It was just so obvious. I found myself absolutely head-over-heels in love that first day and I have been ever since!

Actually,the space channel here in Canada is always airing Roar. I bought this on dvd before Heath passed. What do you mean “lost” show or they should pull it out and air it? They are! Seeing as it took you a year to get around to watching it after you bought it, I would have to say that you are a bit behind in what is on TV! I do agree, its a great show and Heath was the main reason to watch.It has a huge on-line following still today.

I bought the ROAR! series DVDs after Heath Ledger died. I think I own DVDs of everything he ever did on film if it is available on DVD. I had never heard of the series even though Fox reportedly aired it in the USA. I thought it was a smart, well done show and I still can’t believe Heath was only 17 when he acted in it. It is a visually stunning series to watch, and not just because the actors were all great looking. It was worth the money – I found it on Amazon.com – whatever I paid for it.

Remarkable post about one of my favorite shows. Very intuitive and introspective. I have shown this show to many people who have never heard of it and, they are amazed that it never took off. Everything about this show, from the writing, acting, directing, etc. was superb; and it gave (the US at least) Heath Ledger…a star whose light burned out much too quickly. I think your idea for Fox to pull it out and re-air it is a wonderful idea…heck, I’d be happy if SciFi would start airing it again!
