I adore Steve Martin.  It doesn’t matter if most of his movies that come out now aren’t funny – that fact is completely beside the point.  He came up with the idea for Shopgirl and he came up with the idea for the movie Traitor.  Not to mention, he is perhaps the best banjo player in the nation when it comes the clawhammer style.  On top of all of this, he has been in some of the funniest movies that were ever made.  How can one help but to adore Steve Martin?  Now you can watch his latest movie in a brand new format!

Starting this July 23rd, now available on Blu-ray Disc from MGM Home Entertainment and Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment comes a sequel to a great movie starring one of the best comic minds of our generation and a fantastic banjo player as well.  The Pink Panther 2 – Blu-ray Disc is ready to pounce out of your television screen and flood your living room with a hilarious and wholly enjoyable story.  Bring home this great film today in high definition!

Valuable international artifacts are getting stolen all over the world and Inspector Jacques Clouseau is getting dragged back into the action.  Of course, he does a very clumsy job of investigating, but with a strange suicide and some other coincidences that just don’t add up, Clouseau feels like everyone else is looking in the wrong place.  But when everything looks like it’s been all wrapped up, danger appears once more and this time it’s closer than ever.  Will Clouseau be able to add it all up and get everything and everyone safe once more?  This movie stars Steve Martin, John Cleese, Andy Garcia, Yuki Matsuzaki, Emily Mortimer and Aishwarya Rai and was directed by Harald Zwart.

The special features included in this Blu-ray Disc are a gag reel, a look at shooting this film, a featurette about the cast for this movie, a great trivia game you can play along with, a digital copy of this film for your portable media devices and a third disc with nearly three hours of classic animated Pink Panther cartoons.

One of my general rules of thumb are that is John Cleese is in a movie, I will give it a chance.  He was in Monty Python and that makes it worth the effort to watch what he deems necessary to be a part of.  I gave Bond movies a chance, a remake of one of my favorite science fiction movies, countless episodes of different shows on BBC America and many, many comedies.  I regret none of it and I don’t regret watching this movie either.  This film did indeed have a very Continental feel to it, sort of an absurdist, more free-floating type of comedy film that one normally sees coming out of Hollywood.  But I liked it and found it to be wholly enjoyable.  Check it out today in high definition and I’m sure you’ll feel the same.  Not only that, but it’s totally worth the price just to get those great original cartoons on DVD.  That sells the three disc set right there.

Let this Panther sneak up on you today!
