There was no fundamental aggiornamento. For example, the Tale of Adam and Eve and the Talking Snake is still read out once per three years as the ‘word of the Lord’. Really! How much longer will the Church try to keep the genie in the bottle? There is a need for the Church to have a root and branch, no holds barred, overall reappraisal, to acknowledge where lack of knowledge at the time made it wrong and where it set in concrete definitions that were intrinsically beyond its competence. This should have happened at Vatican II, but there was never any likelihood that the aged cardinals – most born around the turn of the 19th/20th century or even earlier - would do it. If de Chardin had not been prohibited by his superiors from publishing ‘The Phenomenon of Man’ when he wrote it in the 1930s (his works were published by friends after his death in 1956) things might have been different, but there was insufficient time for his vision to be disseminated and assimilated. Clean house give the catholic lefties who hate the catholic church the properties they control and send them on their way with their new world whatever. What's left can get busy restoring the faith and become what is needed an authentic missionry church again. Vatican III can excommunicate Mahoney, also the sissy archbishop of Washington DC, and lets not forget that ever growing list of idiots known as the German Episcopate. Vatican III will need to do a lot of damage control from the heretical actions of JP II...e.g. several questionable canonasations, a host of his writings and even repudiate the leftist socialist naive encyclical of Benedict recently issued. Bring back the rack, make the anti catholic catholic pastor of Saint Sabena's in Chicago the first one on the rack. Re excommunicate Calvin, Luther, Elizabeth Ist and the rest of the "fathers/mothers" of the world mess that exist today. Send the SSND and Sisters of Mercy packing first then work down the list. Let them keep their properties, they are going to lose most of them anyway. Have large formal excommunication ceremonies daily until the filth is gone. Vatican III let the denunciations begin.
