An excerpt from our recent article on Michael Jackson:

"Lest you be confused about this drug thing, there is little difference between illegal/recreational drugs, and prescription drugs, with the exceptions being the legitimacy of the “entity” which produces them, who gets to prescribe them, and whether politicians benefit. Drugs be drugs.

"Take it from some guys who matured (arguably) during the drugs, sex, and rock and roll years. We know lots of successful doctors, business people, family people, accountants, judges, and pillars of society who once used drugs in many a form and fashion. Fortunately for most of them and for society, they appreciated that drugs might be an interesting pastime, but not a life long journey."

I work for a drug and alcohol rehabilitation centre in Thailand. I regularly see lives destroyed by prescription and non-prescription drug abuse. I am always amazed though at how before we actually know anything people will jump on the drug abuse idea and say this celebrity or that one died of a drug overdose it's a sad world when a man can not even die in peace. The only positive I can possibly see if it is shown that MJ died of a drug overdose is possibly it will help raise awareness for the condition.

I have Alpha-1. The injection you speak of for this is not an injection. It is an IV. It's a blood product and I've never heard of anyone overdosing on a blood product. If Michael Jackson had Alpha-1 and the lung problems that go with it then I can't imagine why he would be planning a comeback tour. There is no way he would be able to keep up with something so like that. Something is missing with this whole story and the public may never know what it is.

Friends of Michael Jackson stated on the today Show that Michael's bones were visable and he felt them when he hugged him. Give that Cardiac Arrest can happen and given that he was taken a combination of drugs. The only question I have is why give IV demerol instead of pills. He could swallow pills. And why didn't this Dr. have narcan on board to reverse the effects of demerol. It is going to come down the how much drugs were in his system.

Strenuous exercize can be a sign of anorexia nervosa; this can cause nutritional problems including cardiomyopathy and sudden death. (e.g. singer Karen Carpenter, who died young took no drugs but suffered from anorexia nervosa).

If he was bullemic. then another risk is the drug used to induce vomiting is also cardiotoxic if taken frequently enough.

Cardiac failure is not a medical term. It means the heart stopped, or it could mean that the heart failed slowly with the lungs filled with fluid. And it doesn't point to the cause of the heart failure.

the cause of death has been determnined as CARDIAC FAILURE. Cause of that has not been determined as has been reported widely.

A number of folks have jumped on the drug abuse bandwagon and yes, that may have played a roll. Time will tell if the primary cause was actually the fact that he was strenously exercising for anywhere from four to six hours a day.
