guys the question here is on law...the government just cannot ban the website...under article 19 of the cnstitution of india it guarantees the right to freedom of speech and expression with the exceptions laid down in article 19 (2)...i suggest you all read the constitution of india.. it will open your mind to this issue... nothing is based on "your thoughts" it can all be fixed by law.Trust me.

restrictions, how would your life change if you where not able to watch porn, will not be able to eat?, will you move to another country?, will you not be alble to live without induling in porn and then accusing those who restrict the internet that they are encourging rape!!...People its this mentality we need to elimite, nothing wrong with sex, but to broadcast hardcore porn, with no restriction availble to any child, that show vulger and disgusting images, humilating and degrading both men and women...IS THIS ENTERTAINMENT ?..is this entertainment goin to affect children ??..WILL you as a parent having watched porn on the net and knowing the vulger imagery be COMFORTABLE ALLOWING YOUR OWN CHILDREN ACCESS..?? do we not want to create an india, that actually has real pride, real love, real integrity, a happy, healthy, prosperous land both in body and mind......if we do then we have to start with our children and what they are being shown. Would anyone allow a boy of 13 years old to view porn and then defend that action with freedom of information, without seeing the bigger picture of the crass, shallow, negative culture it will breed.!!...you want to make a change....then start erasing and restricting VULGER images from the homes of children, men and women.....and by doing that the consiousness of the people will be tweaked into making that realistion that internet restriction is REQUIRED when anything and everything can be seen or accessed that is harmfull to the mind and body.

Instead of saying that the banning of the site was correct, you should have said it was "legal." The problem is that it shouldn't be legal.

Have you any documented proof that "sex corrupts the minds of people?" other than your own prejudices? In the entire history of the world, societies have broken up due to wars, authoritarian govts, famine, administration policies, economic policies etc, but never due to sex!

Please comment on facts that are scientifically accepted instead of shooting from your biased opinions. Until you can give me proof, they are just that - biased.

Apart from children accessing the site, do you think it corrupts the minds of adults as well? If so, who gives you (or the state) the right to be the caretaker of my mind? I'll do what I want, see what I want and it's my responsibility and mine alone.

I can't view porn "accidentally" on the Internet. It's not displayed on the streets or in the sky. I choose to watch it and it's my mind and the government has no business telling me what to watch and what not to.

So, Savitabhabhi.com contains objectionable content. What about blue films available in almost every video parlour across the country. The decision of the Govt. is laugh worthy.

Although working in government sector, to me this is a example of governmetn stupidity and foolishness. Its banned if you access at home but from govt. servers it is aceesible.
Moreover there are millions of porno site, govt. simply can block it. So it is a futile and time wasting exercise.
See example of desibaba.com. It was banned but circumventing of this ban is very well known.
Many things are threat to society, if you take it as threat, so is pornography. Yes as far as possible its access should be prevented to child, but banning a single site can't be solution, when millions are easily available.
This is another example of lacking clarity in government decisions.

Yes, govt. is giving unnecessary publicity to the site. I wasnot aware about the site before the site came into news. There are lots of bhabi related stories available on net...nobody even gives importance. To try to guard too much...that will be harmful...rather try to stop legalization of gay rights bcos it can disbalance the society.

The fact remains that our govt is not capable of managing the technology related issues. Even our legal system and lawyers r technologically unsound. Of course exceptions can be found everywhere and http://hrpic.blogspot.com/ is one such fortunate exception. No matter how much censorship the govt may try circumvention measures would always defeat them.

Govt stupidity at maximum. The govt is wasting money on such useless initiatives when lot of circumvention mechanisms are available. Alok is right as you are giving more clicks and web site traffic to them. The people at CERT in, DIT, DOT are really stupid to use these mechanisms.

And do you think it will work ? You are just making it more mainstream by giving them free publicity. I am sure the site traffic is going to sky rocket just because of this one factor.
