These are the raw unedited notes from TJ Hart of The Sky 97. Gainsville Florida.  Most of you likely only know TJ from his appearances on our radio show, I am privileged to say I know TJ a little more, I class him as a friend. I think these rough notes express quite eloquently the frustration he feels with this case. It is a frustration that I share with him. The question that we in the press keep asking ourselves is ‘what can we do to move this case forward’?

As can be seen from the links he has included, the movement in the case is not forward but sideways. The focus needs to return to Haleigh Cummings. Here is the asinine aspect, the ’sideshows’ that TJ refers to are the ones that have made it to print, there are lots that have not, for a number of reasons we have opted not to go forward with them at this time.

Over 4 1/2 months have passed and there is still little or no progress to report in the search for 5-year-old Haleigh Cummings of Satsuma, FL who was last seen at her residence in the Hermit’s Cove area of Putnam County on February 9, 2009 between the hours of 8-10pm.

The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office tells WSKY-FM and TheSky973.com they have nothing to report on the case if they bother return our calls at all.

The law enforcement agencies involved in the case of the missing girl are scheduled to meet again soon to evaluate the progress in the investigation. At the last meeting, it was noted that a lot of evidence pertaining to the investigation was gathered by techs, but not all of it had been analyzed.

If you are interested in the side shows, there is plenty there to keep you occupied while you wait for some hard facts Haleigh’s disappearance:

Haleigh’s teen babysitter-now-stepmom has trouble remembering what happened when the night the girl vanished.

Haleigh’s mother claims her son saw a man in black clothing make the couch bounce the night Haleigh was taken. (audio)

Haleigh’s mother gets pro bono attorney to deal with media matters–quickly turns into a child custody challenge.

Haleigh’s father gets tattoo and marries teen bride.

Haleigh’s mother puts off her marriage to her step brother/father of her youngest child until Haleigh is found.

Private investigator William “Cobra” Staubs tries to stage a re-enactment with Haleigh’s father to no avail. The attempt reveals that his teen bride had a weekend drug and sex binge with another man that ended the day before Haleigh was snatched from her home. (lengthy audio)

Haleigh’s father gets an attorney, but attorney declines to represent his new wife.

Haleigh’s mother sets up the Haleigh Bug tip center in Satsuma, FL with the help from Jeremiah Reagan and pro bono attorney Kim Picazio. The center later moved to the mother’s home in Baker Co. and is changed to a non-profit organization.

Private investigator William “Cobra” Staubs is arrested and charged with false imprisonment of an accused child sex predator relating to an incident that had taken place nearly a month prior.

Turf wars and allegations continue between private investigator Staubs and pro bono attorney Picazio.

There is more, but really—do any of these sideshow activities have anything to do with finding Haleigh?

Haleigh is described as a 5 year old white female. She is approximately 3′0, 39 lbs, blonde hair & brown eyes. Unknown clothing description.

Haleigh was last seen at her residence in the Hermit’s Cove area of Putnam County on February 9, 2009 between the hours of 8-10pm.

A statewide Amber Alert has been issued. An additional $35,000 in rewards have been posted.
