I’ve been a big fan of the “jug” since reading Robert S. Johnson’s book back in high school. The ground attack fliers didn’t rack up the kills in air to air combat, but that doesn’t lessen the sacrifices they made while flying in the mud, fog, ack ack. Looking forward to picking this one up.
There is a side story with their commanding general’ committment to the mission, hope the book covers the story.
